Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of contagious of Covid-19 on the growth of Third Party Funds (DPK) in Islamic banks, to see the economic strength during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The analysis was carried out on the financial statements of two Islamic banks, are BNI Syariah and Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM). By using time series data analysis in the aggregate time of the first semester for the period of January - June and the first month in the second semester in July 2020. The data source is taken from the financial publication monthly report from BNI Syariah and BSM. As a comparison, data for 2018 and 2019 are used in the same month period, so that obtained of the growth trend of DPK in Islamic Bank during normal times and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of correlation and comparison analysis, this study found that the Covid-19 pandemic has influenced the trend of public funds in Islamic banks. In choosing fund products at banks, the customer avoid investment risks by reducing deposits in the form of investment funds and prefer Wadiah as safe products. This caused DPK in Islamic banks both BNI Syariah and BSM have significant positive growth for Wadiah and decline in investment funds during the Covid-19 pandemic. This shows that Islamic banking faces financial risks in abnormal situations during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The existence of Islamic banking in Indonesia still not as advanced the spirit of Islamic economic life significantly. Based on Indonesia Stock Exchange data, PT Bank Panin Dubai Syariah, Tbk (PNBS) has the first Islamic banking to register on the stock exchange on January 15, 2014. This reasearch’s aim to analyze indicators that have a greater effect on changes in stock price index . There are six independent variables that are predicted to affect the PNBS stock price. Based on the macro indicators of inflation, exchange rate and BI 7day repo rate, while micro indicators consist of total assets, DPK growth, and the amount of profit (loss). Data collection using secondary data obtained from several sources. By using time series regression analysis followed by the ARCH model, while in the short term testing using the ECM method. Based on results, the short-term output is closer to theory and hypothesis compared to long-term testing and macroprudential indicators have a greater effect on the PNBS stock price index than macroprudential indicators. This study provides recommendations that improving financial performance is very important for the Islamic banking industry.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of financial performance and dividend policy on Cumulative Abnormal Return for company shares in Jakarta Islamic Index. The population was all company stocks listed on The Jakarta Islamic Index from 2009 to 2018. The samples were selected by purposive sampling with the criteria the companies were consistently included in JII (not delisted and relisted) during the 2009-2018 period and those that met the criteria were five companies. Financial performance was proxies by Earning per Share, Price Earnings Ratio, Current Ratio, and Return on Equity. Meanwhile, dividend policy was proxies by the Dividend Payout Ratio. This research type was quantitative by using the panel data regression method. The results showed that Earning per Share effect on Cumulative Abnormal Return, while the Price Earnings Ratio, Current Ratio, Return On Equity and Dividend Payout Ratio variables had no effect on Cumulative Abnormal Return. The implications of this research for other parties consists of scientific development, especially in the field of financial management, and can be an input for investors in investing in shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) so that it can have a positive impact in the form of dividends or capital gains to investors. And can be used as a reference for further researchers by adding other variables that are not included in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Profit Sharing Financing and Qardh Financing on Net Profit Sharia Commercial Bank. The method used is descriptive statistics with quantitative approach that is through the classical assumption test to analyze the data and multiple linear regression analysis to determine the level of relations or effect that given by Profit Sharing Financing and Qardh Financing on Net Profit and processed by using software SPSS 16. While data used are secondary data with quantitative data types during the period 2014- 2019. Population of this study is Sharia Commercial Bank companies with sampling method that is purposive sampling, so that the number of observations obtained as many as 6 companies. Based on the result of the research, the test of simultaneously results with the statistical test show that the variable Profit Sharing Financing and Qardh Financing simultaneously affected. The result of coefficient determination shows that Net Profit (Y) is influenced by Profit Sharing Financing (X1), Qardh Financing (X2) as much as 64.1% and the remaining left is influenced by other variables as much as 35.9%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of knowledge, brand image and customer behavior on customer decision in choosing savings products. Some of previous studies stated that variables which influence customer decisions are knowledge, brand image and customer behavior. However, there is a gap in these conclusions, as some studies suggest that knowledge does not affect customer decisions. Thus, it is important to undertake another research regarding such topic. There are 99 respondents chosen as samples in this study. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS. Results indicated that brand image and customer behavior had a positive and significant influence on customer decisions, while knowledge had no significant effect on customer decisions.

Abstract

The study aims is to show how the zakat management in the covid-19 pandemic era. Amil zakat institutions need to make innovation in term of zakat management, both collection and distribution of zakat itself, one of them is related to the digitization of zakat management. This research analysed with a qualitative approach. The results showed that East Kalimantan LAZ DPU had innovated in terms of zakat management by utilizing digital technology both in the collection and distribution of ZIS funds. In the distribution of ZIS funds, it was directed at handling the impact of covid-19 for Mustahik to help Mustahik economic difficulties through regular programs in the field of humanity, da'wah, health, economy, and education. In addition, some special programs were also added, namely helping medical personnel by providing personal protective equipment, the best frontline nutrition program, providing basic food supply for the dhuafa, and empowering students and teachers during this pandemic. This research show that LAZ do an action in humanity specially in pandemic era

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the flow of the financing processes with murabahah contract at Bank Syariah Mandiri Branch Office Ternate and to exam whether the financing practices are in accordance with the principles of sharia transactions as stated in Standar Akuntansi Syariah–Indonesian Accounting Standard Board by using qualitative method. The data were collected by using the triangulation sources approach by interviewing a competent banker and a customer, then the results of the interviews are compared with related regulations. The results of this study proved that procedurally the financing processes at Bank Syariah Mandiri Branch Office Ternate has fulfilled the sharia principles, but practically the principle of justice in murabahah contract can not be fulfilled.

Abstract

Islamic banks require a different performance measurement than a conventional bank to keep their sustainability. The main disadvantage of employing conventional benchmarks to measure Islamic bank performance is that they fail to investigate shariah facets. This study aims to discover how maqashid shariah index using IMSPM (Integrated Maqashid al-Shariah based Performance Measure) approach and firm value using EVA (Economic Value Added) approach and examine its impact with capital structure on the corporate values of Islamic bank. This study using a quantitative method with the purposive sampling technique. This study involved 11 Islamic bank’s annual reports listed in the Bank Indonesia and OJK from 2015 to 2019 period. The analysis method is multiple linear regression using Eviews 10 program. This study finds that the sample performed highest on the objective of nafs (self) over five-year period. The companies with a constant NOPAT and IC have a better EVA. Maqashid Syariah Index positively influence firm value while the capital structure has no effect.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to propose a strategy to strengthen the islamic digital wallet or electronic wallet (e-wallet) in Indonesia to compete with its conventional counterparts. Qualitative research methods with study literature were chosen to explore previous research that had been discussed on e-wallets particularly from the Islamic perspective both at global and national levels through reputable journals, reports, and other supportive documents. The results depicted that the Islamic e-wallet can be optimized through four points, namely promotion, education, collaboration, and trust but remained fulfilling sharia compliance so that the values of Islamic teachings are not vanished. Promotions in the form of cashback can be substituted for points to be converted into donations through the Islamic crowdfunding platform. Education can be improved through social media platforms. The way is by coordinating with Islamic public figures, collaboration with merchants and service providers. Finally increasing trust by safeguarding user data and funds.

Abstract

Researchers choose the research objects in BRI Syariah Malang Branch because they have high customer trust. Financing products at BRI Syariah Malang Branch one of them is murabahah. Murabahah is a product to buy and sell financing in cash and credit in accordance with Islamic principles. This study aims to find out the effect of the covid-19 pandemic on the use of murabahah margins. This research uses qualitative methods with two approaches, namely interviews and in-depth observations. The results of this study confirm that murabahah financing is the most desirable financing in the pandemic period of 93.2% and the most effective murabahah margin used during pandemics is the annuity method. The determination of this margin is in accordance with DSN Fatwa No: 84/DSN-MUI/XII/2012 on the determination of Murabahah Financing Benefits.
