Abstract

One of the alternatives to overcome network scalability problem and maintaining reliability is using MPLS VPN network. In reallity, the current network is already using a multiplatform of several different hardware vendors, i.e., Cisco and Juniper platforms. This paper discusses the comparison of the simulation results to see interoperability of multiplatform MPLS VPN andreliability through traffic engineering using RSVP-TE and LDP protocols. Both the RSVP and LDP protocols are tested on a stable network and in a recovery mode,as well as non-load conditions and with additional traffic load. The recovery mode is the condition after the failover due to termination of one of the links in the network. The no-load condition means that the network is not filled with additional traffic. There is only traffic from the measurement activity itself. While network conditions with an additional load are conditions where there is an additional UDP packet traffic load of 4.5 Mbps in addition to the measurement load itself. On a stable network and without additional traffic load, the average delay on LDP protocol is 59.41 ms, 2.06 ms jitter, 0.08% packetloss, and 8.99 Mbps throughput. Meanwhile, on RSVP protocol, the average delay is 52.40 ms, 2.39 ms jitter, 12.18% packet loss, and 7.80 Mbps throughput. When failover occurs and on recovery mode, LDP protocol is48% of packet loss per 100 sent packets while on RSVP packet loss percentage is 35.5% per 100 sent packets. Both protocols have interoperability on the third layer of multiplatform MPLS VPN, but on heavy loaded traffic condition, RSVP protocol has better reliability than the LDP protocol.

Abstract

There are many real world applications of face recognition which require good performance in uncontrolled environments such as social networking, and environment surveillance. However, many researches of face recognition are done in controlled situations. Compared to the controlled environments, face recognition in uncontrolled environments comprise more variation, for example in the pose, light intensity, and expression. Therefore, face recognition in uncontrolled conditions is more challenging than in controlled settings. In thisresearch, we would like to discuss handling pose variations in face recognition. We address the representation issue us ing multi-pose of face detection based on yaw angle movement of the head as extensions of the existing frontal face recognition by using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Then, the matching issue is solved by using Euclidean distance. This combination is known as Eigenfaces method. The experiment is done with different yaw angles and different threshold values to get the optimal results. The experimental results show that: (i) the more pose variation of face images used as training data is, the better recognition results are, but it also increases the processing time, and (ii) the lower threshold value is, the harder it recognizes a face image, but it also increases the accuracy.

Abstract

This  paper proposes  an approach  for cal- culating  and estimating  human body orientation  using geometric model. A novel framework integrating gradient shape and texture model of the human body orientation is proposed.  The gradient  is a natural way for describing the human  shapes, while the texture  explains the body characteristic. The framework  is then combined with the random  forest classifier to obtain a robust  class  differ- ence  of the human body orientation. Experiments and comparison results are provided to show the advantages of our system over state-of-the-art. For both modeled and un-modeled gradient-texture  features with random forest classifier, they achieve the highest accuracy on separating each human orientation   class, respectively  56.9% and 67.3% for TUD-Stadtmitte  dataset.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a video game for toilet training materials as a medium for self-help learning for children with autism. Toileting skill is one of the basic self-help skills that children should master. In fact, teaching new things to children with autism is challenging. It requires a proper method to deliver the materials to these children. One of the effective learning media to teach self-help is to use visual media like video games. By using video games, children are expected to play and learn self-help skills, particularly about toileting. In addition, the video game is developed by applying certain design principles that fit with the needs of children with autism. The software is tested for its functionalities. Moreover, an implementation test is done by using observation communication analysis. Based on the results, the researchers conclude that the developed video game has implemented the proper design and materials related to toileting in accordance with the needs of children with autism. The respondents show positive results for using the video game.

Abstract

This paper proposes the comparison of using K-Means and Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) to optimize the premise parameters on Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) for weather forecasting. The ANFIS architecture groups each of the feature inputs in the first layer into three clusters, and uses three rules for the second layer. The comparison is performed based on the RMSE value and the number of iteration. The testing is done on the percentage of 40%, 50%, and 60% of the total data. In addition, the testing is done by grouping the data based on season called rainy and dry seasons. The testing results show that both K-Means and FCM havealmost the same RMSE, except for rainy season where K-Means has better RMSE. However, K-Means requires relatively more iterations to achieve convergence. The use of FCM, in general, gives better results than K-Means. It is also shown that ANFIS provides the best performance for data onto the dry season.
