Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis (JAB) is the biannual scientific journal of Business Administration, published by the Center for Business Studies (CeBiS), Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Parahyangan Catholic University. Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis is issued two (2) times a year, every March and September, which contains essays or research results in Business Administration. Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis aims to disseminate the ideas and scientific analysis in the field of Business Administration.

Abstract

Tantangan dan pendidikan bisnis merupakan topik utama dalam penerbitan JurnalAdministrasi Bisnis (JAB) Volume 5 Nomor 1 Tahun 2009. Selain itudilengkapi juga dengan artikel hasil penelitian mengenai aplikasi model regresilogistik biner untuk model keberhasilan belajar, sebuah studi kasus dan hasilpenelitian mengenai pengaruh manfaat dan kualitas hubungan relasional terhadaphasil pemasaran relasional dari sebuah layanan suratkabar, dan sebuah artikel hasilpenelitian mengenai perubahan pola belanja masyarakat perkotaan.James Rianto Situmorang mengupas mengenai karakteristik pendidikan bisnisdan perbandingan beberapa lembaga pendidikan yang berada di Indonesia maupun diluar negeri. Sedangkan Jony Oktavian Haryanto menyoroti mengenai peran praktisidalam pendidikan bisnis. Penulis menyampaikan konsep mengenai theories-in-usesebagai pendekatan dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah bisnis. Melalui pendekatantersebut, diharapkan peserta didik dapat memperoleh pemahaman secara komprehensif.Orpha Jane menguraikan mengenai knowledge yang menjadi salah satufaktor produksi yang penting bagi organisasi. Secara spesifik penulis mengeksplorasilebih jauh mengenai strategi dalam mengimplementasikan knowledge managementdi Perguruan Tinggi.Sam’un Jaja Raharja menyajikan sebuah analisis dan pemikiran mengenai polahubungan antar organisasi masa kini yang dicirikan oleh kesalingtergantungan (interdependensi)satu sama lain karena situasi lingkungan yang dinamis dan terus berubah.Perubahan atau pergeseran dari sifat independen ke interdependen telah melahirkanberbagai pemikiran yang mengarahkan kepada model pengelolaan bisnis berdasarkankemitraan, tidak lagi berdasarkan kompetisi (persaingan). Gandhi Pawitan menyajikansebuah hasil penelitian di FISIP Unpar, Jurusan Administrasi Bisnis khususnya,mengenai model keberhasilan siswa dalam menyelesaikan studinya.A. J. Ibnu Wibowo menyajikan mengenai konsep pemasaran relasional (relationshipmarketing) dengan aplikasi di layanan surat kabar. Tujuan utama dariteori pemasaran relasional adalah mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penentu utama yangmempengaruhi hasil yang penting bagi perusahaan, sehingga menghasilkan suatumodel konseptual yang bisa menjelaskan hubungan antara layanan yang diberikanperusahaan dengan konsumennya. Terahkir Maria Widyarini dan Nina Septinamenyajikan sebuah hasil penelitian mengenai perubahan pola belanja masyarakatperkotaan. Pembahasan menitikberatkan pada faktor penyebab beralihnya konsumenpasar tradisional ke pasar moderen.

Abstract

Success or fail in a study at university can be affected by some factors. Entry selectionprocess can be an initial stage in success prediction, up to graduation. Have theentry selection examination detected this appropriately ? Or have other evaluationmechanism within their study set early warning ? These are a focus question in thisarticle.According to academic data of year 1998 through 2006, found that entry selectionexamination give a prediction of success proportion of student finishing theirstudy. Meanwhile their second semester grade point academic gave a significant indicationof the success and failure. And also found that second semester grade pointacademic had a significant contribution for their achievement in first stage evaluationresult at fourth semester.Keywords: logistic regression, correlation analysis

Abstract

Business education is the enterprise of education at the study and research of the fieldof business, usually in university education. It is oriented toward preparing studentsfor the practice of an occupation in business or business related fields. Businesseducation usually thought in a business school, is a university level institution thatconfers degrees in Business Administration. It teaches topics such as accounting,finance, marketing, human resource management, organizational behavior. In Indonesia,Business Administration is a department or a study program of a faculty suchas Department of Business Adminitration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences,Parahyangan Catholic University. Business school includes school of business, businessadministration and management. They use combination of theory, case studymethod, simulation and practice.

Abstract

The importance of developing and maintaining enduring relationships with customersof service businesses is generally accepted in the marketing literature. A keychallenge for researchers is to identify and understand how managerially controlledantecedent variables influence important relationship marketing outcomes (e.g., customerloyalty and word-of-mouth communication). Relational benefits, which havea focus on the benefits consumers receive apart from the core service, and relationshipquality, which focuses on the overall nature of the relationship, represent twoapproaches to understanding customer loyalty and word of mouth. This article integratesthese two concepts by positioning customer satisfaction and commitment asrelationship quality dimensions that partially mediate the relationship between threerelational benefits (confidence benefits, social benefits, and special treatment benefits)and the two outcome variables. The results indicate that the concepts of customer satisfactionand commitment serve to significantly contribute to relationship marketingoutcomes in services. On the other hand, the data does not approve that there is apositive effect of relational benefits to loyalty.Keywords: relational benefits, relationship quality, relationship marketing outcomes,satisfaction, commitment, loyalty, word-of-mouth communication

Abstract

The decreasing number of intakes and quality of the students, and crisis identityhave jeopardise the survival of business schools. There must be a breakthrough toovercome these hard situation. One of the solution is theories-in-use approach, whichis needed to develop the appropriate theory. The writer also suggests to recruit practitionersas the faculty members. This will encourage original theories developmentwhich is appropriate for third world countries like Indonesia. The other solutionis to send the existing lecturers to join the consulting and encourage them to havethe knowledge of practice world. Abstract

Everything is changing in this world. Including a buying pattern of the consumer,caused by one or other reasons. This article is focused on the changing of consumerselection for the shopping of their everyday needs in the urban area. The article discussedon factor that caused of shifting from the traditional market into a modernmarket. This based on research which were conducted in four different city duringseven weeks observations. The research was done through interview and focusgroups discussion, and found that the shift into a modern market were caused byfactors of location, price, promotion, facility provided. Meanwhile, some will stay intraditional market, because of some factors such as bargaining process, interpersonalrelationship, and variation of the product. Further research is needed to find a form ofcooperation among actors in the market and develop a positive image for both side.On the other hand, also need an involvement from the Government in socialization,implementation and evaluation of the regulation.Keywords: Consumer behavior, retail, modern market

Abstract

As the information technology become one of the production factors in human life,knowledge is the important factor for the organization. Toffler, Drucker, Nonaka andsome others say that with the knowledge firm or organization can win the competitionin this post millennium era.Higher Education Institution (HEI) as an organization can also use knowledgeas a management tools. Moreover, it can be one of the engine that can help them toachieve the goals such as improve the performance of HEI to support the studentsand community.In this paper, author argue that the implementation of Knowledge Managementin HEI will be improve the performance of HEI in doing ”Tridharma PerguruanTinggi”. Abstract

CeBiS is the Center for Business Studies, was established by Department ofBusiness Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Science, Catholic Universityof Parahyangan.The Mission of the center is to contribute actively in business knowledgedevelopment through empirical research and theoretical studies. The main areaof research and studies are focused either in functional or sectoral businesses.Functional businesses include knowledge in financial and accountancy, human resources,organizational behavior, marketing, operational, leadership, communication,and entrepreneur. Meanwhile, sectoral businesses include in area services, retail,international business, and other business sector in general.The Center organizes some activities such as regularly discussion of the invitedspeaker, seminar and national conference in business topics, training and consultation.The Center also conducts research in theoretical or empirical in businessissues. And the Center published a biannual national scientific journal in BusinessAdministration, which is ”Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis”.The Center also maintain business databases, which hold some data in widerange of business sector, functional area, and particular aspect of business. Thedatabases also include technical report and working paper.
