Abstract

In 1980s and 1990s decades supply chain is a popular term implemented in manybusiness firms in the world because of its capability to increasing operational costefficiency which lead to cheaper product price. In that time it is widely believed thatlower product price will yield the higher return in companies’s profit, even in the longterm.As time goes by, it’s grandeur become clearly faded : in the long term com-panies facing more loss because supply chain do not have a market orientation,an orientation that can keep companies stay in market for a long time and higherprofit. As a consequences, in early 2000s there is another new term appeared : de-mand chain management. This term actually is a combination of supply chain andmarket orientation term. Abstract

Impulse buying behavior has received the attention of Western academic scholarsdue to the existing contradiction between what consumer say and what they actuallydo. Many consumers realize that this is not a right and good behavior. Neverthelessthey continue to purchase the products in this fashion. Even in USA, this behaviorhas become a common phenomenon. The goal of this research is to find out whetherconsumer’s demographic factors influence the impulse buying behavior or not. Inthis research, the impulse buying behavior is divided into two components: affectiveand cognitive components. The result reveals that respondent’s gender and age are theonly factors that influence the affective component, while in the cognitive component,the result shows that there is no respondent’s demographic factors influence.Keywords: Impulse buying, affective and cognitive components, gender, age,budget of spending, level of education

Abstract

Considering that the Implementation of International Trade can be used to improvethe citizen welfare level, the governments from several countries formed WTO. Incontrast, there are a lot of problems caused by the different conditions among thecountries. Because of the regulation implemented to protect domestic products fromforeign product by developed countries, developing countries lose its competitiveadvantages. Thus developing countries, especially Indonesia, must try to increase itsbargaining power through WTO. Abstract

Social technologies become more important nowadays. Its not only as a one ofcommunication channel for the firm, but also as a medium to enhance the valueproposition and the productivity of the firm. We can say that Information Communi-cation and Technology was the driver of this phenomenon, especially when Web 2.0has use widely. As the development of social technologies - one of the medium issocial media marketing such as blog, facebook, twitter, etc - become a popular mediain consumer’s life, firm must also see this medium as a strategic tool. This is true,specifically from the result of the research of McKinsey Global Institute (2012) whichattempts to quantify the value of social technologies. The research find that socialtechnologies, when used within and across enterprises, have the potential to raise theproductivity of the high-skill knowledge workers that are critical to performance andgrowth in the 21st century by 20 to 25 percent (MGI, 2012).Keywords: Open innovation, new product development, social technology.

Although social psychology is the discipline that has long existed (since Plato andAristotle), but officially, the discipline has become a new independent science in1908. Abstract

Quality of the raw materials are an important factor to keep business life of the restaurant.The freshness and originality of the material should be concerned all the time.The raw materials are ordered without any planning or scheduled. There are manykind of raw materials to cook all the menu. Hence we consider only the top 10 sellingmenu during January 2006 until December 2006. These raw materials are then classifiedto group A, B, and C according to ABC analysis along with usage and investment.ABC Critical Index Analysis are then conducted to find out whether the raw materialsis critical or not toward the service to consumer. This analysis combined investmentvalue, usage value, and critical value. Raw materials that classifies for group A inABC Critical Index Analysis are considered as important raw materials, which mustalways be available. By using ABC critical index analysis group A consists of sixteentype of raw materials with usage value 83,08%, group B consists of nine type of rawmaterials with usage value 10,74%, group C consists of 9 type raw materials withusage value 6,18%.Keywords: Pareto analysis, inventory control

Abstract

Human resource development in small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) isknown to have a role as important as large-scale enterprises in achieving competi-tive advantage. The purpose of this paper is to provide a brief overview of humanresources development in SMEs. Abstract

Work-related stress has become common phenomenon. Many considers it as an isolatedproblem, whereas this stress causes the performance of the company decreases.Managing this stress is still not done enough yet, even in the big companies in developedcountries, due to the low awareness among the managers regarding the problem.Individual worker suffers the stress, so she/he should handle her/his problem, indeed.But the role of the leaders is crucial to handle the problem, such as creating a conduciveand open environment. Abstract

Competition in saving account product is a great effect on the number of customer.A greater product values offered then a greater number of customers who are usingthe services. Since positioning strategy describe a superior value, the positioning be-comes an important determining aspect for a customer in deciding to use the services.This study has an objectvie to evaluate customer perception on product positioningof saving account in Bank KALBAR. Survey was conducted to 50 respondent ofTASERNA saving account and 50 respondent in SIMPEDA saving account. Theresult showed that the SIMPEDA saving account is positioned as a saving accountwith a good attribute, such as an appropriate administration fee and service qual-ity. Meanwhile, the TASERNA saving account has a fair enough position in termof provision’s simplicity, administration fee, interest rate, prizes offered, withdrawallimitation, physical saving book, and ATM facility.Keywords: product value, positioning, positioning strategy

Abstract

Basically derivative transactions carried out for the divertion of risks that may arise,either the exchange rate risk, interest rate and stock price fluctuations. Derivativetransactions is then evolved rapidly. This increase is due to many benefits and profitsderived from derivative transactions. The benefits in the form of tools for risk man-agement and price discovery, so appear protection (hedging) of assets. The profit isincreasing the income of the. transactors. In fact, derivative transactions more oftenused to make a profit from speculative activities, not for protection (hedging). Nowthe derivative transactions are set out in the Income Tax Act, is inserted into one of theobjects of Income Tax.
