Abstract

This research investigates operating and financial weighted ratios and competitive ratios influencing the three elements of company performance, return on assets, net income growth, and market share. The sample is go-public Indonesian manufacturing company. Data for this study are the financial ratios calculated from financial statements over nine year's period of 1990-1998. Canonical correlation analysis technique is used to examine the effect of some independent variables on three dependent variables simultaneously. Wilks' lambda test will be employed to test the significance of the relationship of them. Research finding show that; first, two of three canonical functions relationship have statistically significant; second, the inventory share and market share are the most importance variables which are contribute to the first functions; third, total assets to sales and return on assets are the most importance variables which are contribute to the second functions; forth, the power of independent variables influencing dependent variables is relatively moderate.

Abstract

This research examines the link between the cross-functional dispersion of influence (marketing, sales, R &D, operation/production,and finance/accounting) on making marketing decisions and performance at the SBU level by considers market dynamism which may moderate the strength of this relationship. Additionally, it's explored the strength and the weaken factors of performance in manager insight. Market orientation come from the thought that company should realize that build consumer satisfaction is the primary of business goal by focused on consumer and competitor.

Abstract

The cash flow ratios analysis is an analytical method to assess corporate performance, especially the financial performance with the focus on corporate cash flows. This study is aimed at (1) evaluating whether, simultaneously the cash flow variables (ratios) can significantly distinguish the firm with a healthy financial performance from that without; (2) determining whether the discriminate value obtained from cash flow ratios model can be used as a basis for distinguishing the firm with a healthy financial performance from that without; and (3) determining the most significant variable distinguishing the financial performance of the metal industries. The result of the study indicate that: (1) simultaneously, the cash flow ratios had significant influence (2) the discriminate value (Z-score) can be used as a criterion to distinguish the firm, and (3) the ratios of cash flow were the most significant variables in distinguishing the firm with a healthy financial performance from that without.

Abstract

This paper draws the ability of financial ratio as an earning predictor of property companies at Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX). Moreover this research tries to find which is significant distinction between financial ratios to property companies This research is conducted by hypotesis and analyzed by discriminant analysys. As result, financial ratios be able to predict property companies earning in JSX with the grouping accuraly is 65.74 % (wilk's lamda: 0.881 and chi 'square: 13.262) than, by stepwise method, the result shows that ROA and current ratio are different.

Abstract

This paper draws the prospect of regionalism among financial market in East Asia (China, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea). The first part examines the correlation among them that lead to regional integration. The second part shows the possibility of integration or segmentation between East Asia countries and world. The next part, tries to draw whether last financial crises 1997 gave different result to the integration process.

Abstract

The research aims to reveal an empirical evidence whether structural assurance belief and situational normality belief have positive effect to trust in e-commerce system. Data for the study are collected from 100 Internet's user. It used multiple regression to analyze the data. The results indicate that perception of structural assurance has significant effect on trust in e-commerce site. However we failed to find out empirical evidence that situational normality belief has significant effect either.

Abstract

The growing impact of working women has attracted researchers to conduct researches on the leadership style of women. Different leadership styles of men and women may affect employees' perception of their job. Male employees perceive that women tend lo use a transformational leadership style, especially on the idealized influence indication. This paper proves, that women have more nurture characteristic than men do. Woman, as a mother's figure, has shown the way she treats hq children When she becomes a leade4, this characteristic 'wttt stitl be with her in dealing with her employees. Stereotyped gender diferences do efist, eventhough some of their characteristics hne already changed.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan comes from the English word "empowerment. The word power in empowerment means daya in Indonesia. Empowerment tends to release the hand cuff of poverty and underdevelopment also to strength the position of society level in authority structure. The effort to increase society empowerment can be seen from three point of view : creating atmosphere that may develop society potention, strengthening society position and power also empowering that contain protection. Society empowerment demands some prerequisite or conditions, are there is empowerment condition, giving the opportunity that make society become empower, protection in order lo develop empowering, increasing ability to become more empowering and government function. The increasing of society capacity and even distribution income marked with the increasing of poor family that can fulfill their basic and social need, is one of the measuring or indicators I he success of empowerment programs.

Abstract

Abstract

At the turn of broadcasting growth in Indonesia for the last decade, the competition among private televisions to get audiences is becoming arise too. This paper draws on the correlation between attitude and preference of television's audiences. Moreover, this study measure the attitude of audiences by point ideal which is based on argument that people has ideal value about object some sort of audiences has ideal value about televisions program. Finally, this paper indicates that attitude has positive correlation with preference. It is showed by audience's behavior to see the television's program.
