Meanwhile, educational meetings with state power always end in the use of education in the name of the interests of power. Islamic Education as a subsystem of National Education in Indonesia is an important part that cannot be separated. Educational institutions in their form in the form of schools, madrasahs, and pesantren eventually intersect with state power. The implementation of Islamic education concerns education management so that system changes can undergo changes and determine the direction of Indonesia's education policy. This research uses qualitative methods. In collecting data through literature study studies, by collecting various literature spread from various journals and research books, which are then analyzed descriptively analytically. Thus, Islamic education has become the axis of state power in the field of education, it can even determine whether the country is progressing or not resting on the quality of Islamic education represented by madrasahs and Islamic boarding schools, and other Islamic educational institutions.

Such this thing, it is written by Samuel P. Huntington that the West would have clash against Islam. The tragedy of 11 September 2001 was a historic event that made the world condemned this action. Some Muslim terrorists launched an attack on the West. Since then, the Western Countries are always alert to everything related to Islam. They think Islam is a threat to the survival of democracy and secularism. Tariq Ramadan Suggested that western Muslims must understand their identity as Western Muslims in order to be accepted in the West and tackle all negative views of Western people which are against them. They can have multiple identities depending on the situation they faced. There are four principles in their identity they are Faith, the understanding of the text and context, education (teaching) and participation. By participating without losing the first of those four principles, means Muslims able and should participate in realizing the integration of Western culture, with carrying on Islamic Values in order to be a significant contribution which equals Islamization.

Abstract

The government continues to carry out various de-radicalization efforts in responding to the phenomenon of terrorism and acts of religious-based extremism that have occurred in Indonesia in the last two decades. One of the deradicalization efforts is carried out through the application of the anti-terrorism law, although many parties are still debating the effectiveness of its enforcement. On the other hand, efforts to deradicalize the government through Islamic educational institutions need to be continued because this aspect is considered the most likely to moderate the understanding of the younger generation of Muslims. This study uses a qualitative approach, with a case study method that examines the views of religious leaders (lecturers and activist of Islamic religious organizations) on the role of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia in the process of deradicalization and counter-terrorism. Clearly, this study reveals the need for the involvement of Islamic educational institutions in encouraging religious deradicalization programs, particularly on several aspects such as character building, moderate meaning of Islamic doctrine, understanding of the diversity of Islamic history and Fiqh, creation of comparative thought narratives, and taking appropriate action initiatives. good. Thus, this research concludes that the government needs to strengthen efforts to deradicalize through Islamic educational institutions and evaluate the effectiveness of implementing anti-terrorism laws.
