Abstract

Tilapia is one type of fish that has great potential to be cultivated intensively in floating net cages because tilapia has beneficial biological characteristics, namely fast growth, omnivorous, broad adaptability, high tolerance to various environmental conditions, and more resistant to disease attacks. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of feed dosage on the growth of tilapia fish (orechromis niloticus) and the best feed dosage for the growth of tilapia fry (oreochromis niloticus). The method used in this research is the single factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method, namely giving different feed doses with 4 treatments repeated 3 times, so that there are 12 rearing experimental units carried out for 63 days. Each experimental unit was filled with 250 tilapia fish seeds in cage containers. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of giving fish food doses on the growth of tilapia fish. From the results of the anova test, the results were significantly different, but treatments P2 and P3 showed the same results for fish length. The P4 treatment with a 20% feed dose had good growth in weight and length of fish for 9 weeks when compared to P3, P2 and P1. For fish weight in the P4 treatment, the 20% feed dose was 56.05 grams, while for fish length it was 20.5 cm. For P3, P2 and P1 the weight of the fish was 50.2 gr, 50.6 gr and 42.7 respectively. Meanwhile, the fish lengths for P3, P2 and P1 were 19.5 cm, 19 cm and 17.75 cm respectively.

Abstract

Potensi rumput laut yang melimpah di perairan Indonesia telah dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan berbagai produk olahan, seperti dimanfaatkan dalam pembuatan permen soba atau yang dikenal dengan gula-gula pahanga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi komposisi kimia dari permen soba yang diperkaya dengan komposisi rumput laut terpilih yaitu sebesar 40% dari berat gula merah. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia dan Analisis Makanan Departemen Gizi Masyarakat Fakultas Ekologi Manusia Institut Pertanian Bogor. Metode penelitian yaitu eksperimen laboratorium yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permen soba dengan penambahan rumput laut 40% memiliki kadar air sebesar 9,94%, kadar abu sebesar 0,92%, kadar lemak sebesar 4,24%, kadar protein sebesar 3,68%, dan kadar karbohidrat sebesar 82,13%. Sementara itu, permen soba tanpa penambahan rumput laut memiliki kadar air sebesar 9,60%, kadar abu sebesar 0,90%, kadar lemak sebesar 4,39%, kadar protein sebesar 3,25%, dan kadar karbohidrat sebesar 82,75%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the organoleptic value of julung-julung fish (Hemirhampus far) with 3% concentration of liquid smoke treated with different soaking times (25, 30 and 35 minutes). This research was carried out in April - September 2016 at the Biotechnology and Fishery Product Characteristics Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Gorontalo State University for Organoleptic testing. Data analysis used for organoleptic testing of hedonic quality was Kruskal Wallis followed by Duncan's advanced test. Organoleptic test results for the hedonic quality of julung-julung fish (Hemirhampus far) from liquid smoke with different soaking times produced different organoleptic values for all parameters. Based on the results of the organoleptic test, the soaking time of 30 minutes and 35 minutes is different from the soaking time of 25 minutes, namely having an average value of 7 for the appearance parameters which are in the criteria of intact, clean, brown, shiny, specific to the type; the smell is in the criteria of less fragrant, sufficient smoke, without additional disturbing odors; The taste is in the criteria of good but not tasty, while in terms of texture parameters, the soaking time of 25 minutes and 30 minutes is different from the soaking time of 35 minutes, namely with an average value of 7 which is in the criteria of solid, compact, quite dry and tight tissue.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze environmental friendly fishing technoligies of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis Linneus) fishery. This research was conducted from April to Juni 2022 in Teluk Tomini Sea, Gorontalo Province. Data collected by surveys, observations, interviews and questionnaire. Environmental friendly aspects were analyzed with function of values provided by Monintja (2000) and Mallawa, et.al. (2019). Result shows that fishing technologies such as drag line, hand-line, purse-seine, and payang (mini purse-seine) are consecutively environmentally friendly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of welfare of the vannamei shrimp farmers in Mootinelo Village, Kwandang District, North Gorontalo Regency. The sampling method used in this study is the saturated method (Census), which is the activity of collecting data and information by observing all elements of the specified population. With the research respondents as many as 32 people are farmers in Mootinelo Village, Kwandang District, NorthGorontalo Regency. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively supported by primary and secondary data. The results showed that the farming community in Mootinelo Village, Kwandang District, North Gorontalo Regency was included in the medium welfare category with a score of 1.80.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the best substitution for lindur fruit flour (Bruguiera gymnorhizza) on the quality characteristics of Kolombengi cake. This research consisted of 3 stages, namely making lindur fruit flour (Bruguiera gymnorhizza), formulation of Kolombengi cake and characterization of the organoleptic and chemical quality of Kolombengi cake. The treatment in this research was a concentration of lindur fruit flour (Bruguiera gymnorhizza) of 30%, 40% and 50%, which is a substitute for wheat flour in making kolombengi cakes. Analysis of the data used for chemical testing uses analysis of variance (ANOVA), then the determination of the selected product is carried out using the Bayes test. The research results showed that the kolobengi cake which was substituted with lindur fruit flour with a concentration of 40% was the selected product which contained 12.52% water, 1.12% ash, 5.28% protein, 2.35% fat and 78.74% carbohydrates.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the types of wood used to make traditional boats and to find out the estimated need for wood used to make traditional fishing boats in Bolangitang II Village, West Bolangitang District, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency. The research was carried out in March-June 2021. Data was collected using a survey method carried out in two ways, namely interviews and direct sample measurements. Data regarding types of wood were analyzed descriptively and calculated the boat beam volume, board volume, board volume coefficient, Mahera length coefficient, and Mahera diameter coefficient. The results of the research show that the katinting boats in Bolangitang II Village are made of wood, the wood material is selected from trees of good quality based on the experience of the boatman. To calculate the estimated need for wood for making a boat, namely the volume of boards and the length and diameter of the mahera, you can use the board volume coefficient (Cp), Mahera length coefficient (Cpm) and Mahera diameter coefficient (Cdm). In this study, the values of Cp = 0.0592, Cpm = 0.7050, and Cdm = 0.7444 were obtained.

Abstract

Kerang hotate (Mizuhopecten yessoensis) adalah salah satu spesies bivalvia laut yang banyak dibudidayakan di Jepang karena kualitasnya yang baik dan produktivitasnya yang tinggi. Namun terdapat beberapa permasalahan dalam budidaya kerang hotate, salah satunya yaitu adanya hama predator dan organisme penempel. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Teluk Funka, Hokkaido, Jepang pada tanggal 15 April – 5 Desember 2022. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hama predator dan organisme penempel yang terdapat pada budidaya kerang hotate. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, partisipasi aktif, serta wawancara. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Hama predator yang ditemukan pada budidaya kerang hotate yaitu Asterias amurensis, Patiria pectinifera, Erimacrus isenbeckii, dan Paralithodes camtschaticus. Sedangkan organisme penempel yang ditemukan pada budidaya kerang hotate yaitu Mesocentrotus nudus, Strongylocentrotus intermedius, Mytilus edulis, Balanus rostratus, Ascidiella aspersa, dan Hydroides elegans.
