The developed digital educational game utilizes gamification elements. The research method used was the research and development method with the ADDIE model from Cennamo, Abell, and Chung. The results of the expert validation test on this digital educational game get an average percentage score of 85.16%, which is in the very good category. The user trial results get a percentage of 100% from the group test and 99.3% from the field test in the very good category. Abstract

In the learning process at school, a teacher must have the skills to provide reinforcement in teaching in order to achieve the expected learning goals. The research is intended to explain the use of teacher reinforcement skills in learning at GMIM Ranoketang Elementary School. The research was conducted at GMIM Ranoketang Elementary School. The research is qualitative research with a descriptive research design. Data collection methods used observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain data. Research findings indicate that instructors use learning skills components, which involve verbal and nonverbal reinforcement. Verbal reinforcement is used to provide appreciation in the form of words and sentences. Nonverbal reinforcement is applied with gestures and body movements, tactile reinforcement, entertaining activities, reinforcement in the form of symbols or items, and partial reinforcement. Furthermore, instructors use a reinforcement approach in learning, which includes reinforcement for specific people, reinforcement for groups, rapid reinforcement, and changes in the implementation of reinforcement. In conclusion, a teacher must understand and master the skills of providing reinforcement in order to increase the enthusiasm and motivation of students in the teaching and learning process and also to achieve learning goals.

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of TikTok social media on fifth-grade elementary students’ social attitudes. The method used in the research is qualitative. The data sources are primary and secondary data sources. Primary and secondary data sources involved four teachers, four students, and one school principal who were deemed capable of providing statements and reinforcement for research purposes. Data collection techniques and instruments are interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity testing uses source and technical triangulation. The triangulation of sources used is related to four teachers, four students, and documents. Technical triangulation is carried out by checking data from the same source with different techniques. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions and verification. The conclusion of the research is that the social attitudes of elementary students are going well, even though there are still some students who are not yet optimal in implementing good social attitudes because one of the influences is the use of TikTok social media. The social attitudes of students that teachers have applied to students, either in the classroom or outside the classroom, are being responsible, self-confident, mutual respect, polite, competitive, and honest. TikTok social media has not been used by elementary school students yet, because the TikTok application has more negative impacts if students cannot take positive values from it.

Abstract

This paper examines the effectiveness of the hybrid project-based learning model to improve students’ critical thinking and creative thinking skills. The research is quantitative research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects involved elementary school teacher education students in the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan. The research can be applied to students during the learning process. The measured research data were validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the research instrument. The results indicate that (a) the result of validity testing of the developed hybrid project-based learning model was very valid with a percentage of 94%. In addition, (b) the questionnaire analysis result of students’ responses in the experimental class was very good with a percentage of 94% while the result in the control class was 69% in the unfavorable category. Moreover, (c) the t-test analysis 0.023 < 0.05 with the N-Gain test results was 79.20%, which means that there was a significant difference and an increase in students’ critical thinking skills. And (d) the t-test analysis 0.019 <0.05 with the N-Gain test results was 77.11%, which means that there was a significant difference and an increase in students’ creative thinking skills. In conclusion, the hybrid project-based learning model is feasible to use and can improve students’ critical thinking and creative thinking skills.

The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method by collecting interview data, observing, and reviewing documentation. Data validity testing uses triangulation and data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, which are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the teachers have been maximized in implementing 21st-century learning in order to cultivate global diversity values for fourth-grade students properly based on the lesson plan. The teacher implemented it by developing critical thinking skills in understanding the surroundings and being able to solve problems, creatively creating something with new innovations, having verbal and written communication skills, and conducting collaborative learning. The four skills were developed in the learning process by the teacher gradually and sustainably.

The research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK), which was conducted in 4 meetings. The research subjects were 23 fifth-grade elementary students. The types of research data were qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained from observation of educators’ activities, questionnaires on learning motivation, students’ learning activities, and students’ critical thinking skills. Quantitative data are obtained through individual written tests. The benchmark for research success indicates that the value is ≥ 82% or ≥ 75. Based on the research data findings and results, it can be concluded that teaching and learning activities by applying the PROSOTAN HORAY are able to provide an increase in motivation, activity, critical thinking skills, and learning outcomes for students.

Abstract

Changes in learning policies as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in performance demands and different competence. Learning that was initially applied face-to-face should be carried out online by relying on creative learning media and more detailed implementation reports. As a result, the workload and responsibilities of each teacher during the pandemic tend to trigger heavier work stress. Stress in working is an essential factor. Proper unmanageable work stress can affect their physical, emotional, and productivity. Work stress levels can be similar or different, it depends on different genders. Therefore, the study in this paper aims to find out the relationship between work stress, workload, and the gender of primary school teachers (SD) during the pandemic in Surakarta. The samples were selected using the Cluster Random Sampling technique, which obtained 350 SD teachers. Data collection used workload scales and work stress (Refiany, 2019). The data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product Moment correlation techniques and the Mann-Whitney test for gender, which indicate that there was a significant relationship between workload and SD teacher work stress during the pandemic in Surakarta (r = 0.781, p = 0,000) and was significantly difference between the genders (p 0,035<0,05). The relationship between workload and work stress is positive. Thus, the higher the teachers’ workload is, the higher their work stress is. Workload contributes 61% to high work stress.

Abstract

This research aims to find the main themes and research categories regarding numeracy difficulties (Dyscalculia). For the data taken to fulfil the objectives of this research, the author searched for several relevant sources from Google Scholar and Scopus (SAGE et al. & Francis). Four combinations of keywords determined articles; then the articles were included in the data collection, and researchers applied a systematic literature review method. Articles that will be research sources are limited to the last six years. The dominant research methodology of the articles reviewed is qualitative. The four main themes revealed from the qualitative content analysis are dyscalculia, causes of dyscalculia, cases of dyscalculia, and solutions to overcome dyscalculia. Articles are filtered starting from topic description, eligibility criteria and search strategy. The total number of articles reviewed was 198 from different sources, namely Springer, Elsevier, SAGE, Eric, and Taylor & Francis. Then, it was reviewed again to obtain 87 articles. Then, reviewed again according to the theme in the title, 50 articles were found that were most suitable. Of the 50 articles that are most suitable for deeper study, dyscalculia occurs throughout the world. The cause of dyslexia can be due to developmental errors during pregnancy or other factors such as physical defects or the child's habits. The solution offered by the teacher is to use several learning methods and media that are appropriate for the child's condition.
