Abstract

Multi-objective optimization problem is difficult to be solved as its objectives generally conflict with each other and its solution is not in the form of a single solution but a set of solutions. Genetic algorithms (GAs) is one of meta heuristic algorithms that may be used to solve this problem. However, a standard GAs is easily trapped in local optimum areas and searching process rate will be lower around the optimum points. This paper proposes a GAs with an adaptive mutation rate to balance the exploration and exploitation on the search space. A simple rule has been developed to determine wheter the mutation rate is increased or decreased. If a significant improvment of the fitness value is not achieved, the mutation rate is increased to enable the GAs exploring search space and escaping the local optimum area. In contrast, the mutation rate is decreased if significant improvment of the fitness value is achieved. This mechanism guide the GAs to exploit the local search area. The experiments show that by using the adaptive mutation, the GAs will move faster toward a feasible search space and achieving solutions on sorter time.

Abstract

Comparative Study of Decision Tree Method and Fuzzy Decision Tree on the Land Cover Classification. This research is a comparative study of the performance of decision tree method with fuzzy decision tree classification of land cover to help manage natural resources. The decision tree method is a simple technique and provides optimal results, but often have difficulty on incomplete data (missing value), the data enumerated, or vague, often found on land cover datasets. While the fuzzy decision tree method for implementing fuzzy concepts in the branch formation so as to produce a complete and expected to accommodate the shortage. Some land cover datasets are selected. Then two methods of performance measurement in some test by grouping the input data and the results compared with the actual classification. The results showed that the fuzzy decision tree method can provide the level of recognition by the 4.96%, but it takes much longer computation 38.13%. The classification method with data recognition capabilities that are incomplete or not clear with time computing is fast becoming a good contribution to be implemented on the application of Geographic Information System.

Abstract

Factor analysis is a multivariate method that is used to analyze correlation among indicator variables so that it can be mapped into some factors. Previous research has defined the importance of the role of a hyperlink from a website, but did not examine the most influential variables from some specified hyperlink variables. It is therefore necessary to obtain a factor analysis of the factors that affect the quality of a website from some specified hyperlink variables. Due to this analysis, top 25 university websites from webometrics of January 2011 edition rank have been selected as the research objects. The hyperlink data was obtained by utilizing two search engines, Google.com and Yahoo.com, then this hyperlink data were analyzed using factor analysis methods. The result should that the role of hyperlink total factor (0,254) and external hyperlinks factor (0,253) greatly affect the quality of a website on the review in terms of hyperlink perspective with analysis factor. This research also resulted in a new rank of university websites that can be used as one parametric for a good website's according to hyperlink analysis. The results of this analysis was tested at the level of correlation with parameters of size and visibility webometrics using Pearson correlation method with a highly significant result of 0.575.

Abstract

Abundant cases of plagiarism committed by some intellectual people in the Indonesia’s education fields have became such tragedy. Due to the amount of information which is available online are things that make copy-paste without proper citation cause plagiarism. This paper discusses about how to detect similar sentences which is probable caused by copy-paste. However plagiarism detection still needs further examination such as the existing of citation or not. Winnowing algorithm is used for detecting similar sentences between text files which is treated as a common subsequence problem. The algorithm finds document fingerprinting by changing sequence of N-grams from text into a set of hash values. If copy-paste sentences are found then both of text files must have the same document fingerprinting. Experiment has been done to observe the capability of detecting similar sentences by analyzing on value variations of n-gram, prime base b for hashing, window w, and threshold for determining plagiarism indication.

Abstract

Mastery of aerospace technology becomes very important for Indonesia. Due to the given the vast areas of Indonesia mostly in the form of marine waters. This condition has made a guarding and monitoring becomes easy. Therefore needed satellite technology that can be utilized to guard the interests of the territory of Indonesia. The success of developing IiNUSAT-1 on the one hand proves that the universities in Indonesia have competence in the field of nano-satellite development, on the other hand also shows that gotong-royong (working-together) in research-networks and technology will accelerate the research competence. In the first year of development IiNUSAT-1 produced a document Prelimidary Design Review, and a prototype of the nano-satellite. The result shows that the nano-satellite prototype has maximum transfer rate 115.2 kbps and every parameter is sampled every second. Having experience developing and operating the nano-satellite in the first year research project, it will trigger the research related to security and prosperity of the nation. The next version of the nano-satellite will be payloaded with sensors and instruments which can be utilized for national security and prosperity.

Abstract

This paper describe the application of backpropagation neural networks as classification and sampling technique (ST) for the extraction of features from the signal wave Electro Encephalo Graph (EEG). This research aims to develop a system that can recognize the EEG signal that is used to move the cursor. The data used is the EEG data which is IIIA dataset of BCI competition III (BCI Competition III 2003). This data contains data from three subjects: K3b, K6b and L1b. In this study, EEG signal data separated by the imagination of movement to the left, right, leg movements and tongue movements. Decision making has been carried out in two stages. In the first stage, TS is used to extract features from EEG signal data. This feature is as basic inputs in back propagation neural networks as a process of learning. This research used Back Propagation (20-20-10-5-1) and 90 data files EEG signal for the training process. During the identification process into four classes of EEG signal data files data files plus 60 into 150 EEG signal so that the EEG signal data file. The results obtained for the classification of these signals is 80% of the 150 files examined data signal to the process of mapping.

Abstract

Nowadays, the proliferation of game technology especially in intelligent human-like NPCs (Non-Player Characters) leads to more adaptive behavior of NPCs maneuvers. Providing smoother behaviors require comprehensive rules base which can respond to players behaviors. Addressing this requirement we propose NPCs which had tactical behaviors based on fuzzy logic. The fuzzy logic defines four type behaviors for the NPCs, which depend on NPC health, ammo, and distance of the enemy. Those behaviors implemented on two intelligent agents employed Hierarchical Finite State Machine to express the maneuver actions of NPC during combat scenes. Using First Person Game Engine, the performance of NPCs with fuzzy behavior compared with NPC without fuzzy behavior. The results of experiment showed the performance of the NPC with Fuzzy behavior outperform 80% better than the NPC without fuzzy behavior.
