Abstract

Classification aims to classify object into specific classes based on the value of the attribute associated with the object being observed. In this research designed a system that serves to classify Lamongan batik cloth based on color features using color moment, texture using Gray Level Co-occurence Matrix (GLCM), and shape using moment invariant, classification using K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) method. In outline the system was built consists of three main processes namely pre-processing, feature extraction, and classification. The highest accuracy rate in this study was 90.4% when the value of k = 6.

Abstract

A smart city is a term thatis often used in a literature that refers to a city's intelligence. The visions of smart city are to utilizeits community resources, improving the quality of its services, and reducing the costs for public administration operations. Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the main keys. To accomplish the visions, IoT needs to standardize the technology and web by developing the platform on a large scale. It is a challenge for the city to build widely distributed applications and platforms on the Web. The Microservice Architecture style comes up and offers a lot of convenience and it becomes a new trend for developing Smart City IoT platforms. Before Microservice Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture was previously widely used. To find out Microservice Architecture’s simplicity and potentials, there are two steps to follow: (1) Setting up a Search Strategy on literature review to collect subset of papers with Google Scholar, (2) synthesizing and compiling a subset of literature review to extract data and information to be a literature view. After some reviews of the literatures, most of them agree with the use of microservices architecture in creating or developing a smart city of IoT because the microservices architecture offers a lot and can help the work of IoT smart city developers.

Abstract

In this paper, we develop the optimal relay design for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multi wireless relaying networks, when we consider the problem of zero-forcing processing is studied for multi-input multi- output multi-relay communication system in which MIMO source-destination pairs communicate simultaneously. It is assumed that due to severe shadowing effects which communication links can be established only with the aid of relay node. The aim is to design the relay amplification matrix to maximize the achievable communication sum- rate through the relay, which in general amplifying-and- forward relaying mechanisms are considered. The zero forcing (ZF) algorithm has studied for a MIMO multi relay network by comparing its performance in terms of bit- error-rate (BER) at destination algorithm. In particular, we investigate its performance with and without using the ZF at the relay. Our results demonstrate that the system performance can be significantly improved by using the ZF algorithm at relay (optimal relay ZF algorithm)

Abstract

The use of GPS is now widely used by various parties, especially in determining the positionof object location. GPS can be used to measure the land areas, on both wide and flat areas. It can also be used both at night and day, and even it can be used in bad weather conditions. This paper discusses the evaluation of the measurement result of land area using GPStechnology compare to the information containing on the land certificate document. Thegenerated GPS coordinates will be converted into units of meter so that length of each sidecan be known. Heron formula is used to calculate the area of a land plotted on the GoogleMap. From the series of measurement, GPS measurement fall above the land area expressedin the certificate and bellow the meter tape measurement. This measurement still need tostudy further to get a stable measurement. But it can be used by public community to showthe land location to facilitate the land trading. The limitation that must be considered inusing GPS is that GPS signal should not be hindered by any barriers such as leafy trees ortall buildings.

Abstract

Academic Information System is an essential system in performing academic activities. Universitas Brawijaya are using Academic Information System named SIAKAD-UB. SIAKAD-UB is an information systems that deal with all kinds of student details and academic related reports. SIAKAD-UB encountered many problems along with the growth of data. This study aims to discover factor impact on problems of interface usability found in existing SIAKAD-UB using Heuristic Evaluation and Think Aloud method. This study involving 3 experts and 3 operators with the purpose of the evaluation received input from the experts and users. The result of experiment are find 3 problem heuristic with score 0 which mean no usability problem, 7 problem heuristic with score 1 which mean medium priority refinement, 7 problem heuristic with score 2 which mean low priority refinement, 7 problem heuristic with score 3 which mean high priority refinement. Heuristic evaluation and think aloud find 7 aspect refinement are Visibility of system status, Match between system and the real world, User control and freedom, Consistency and standards, Recognition rather than recall, Flexibility and efficiency of use, Help and documentation.
