Abstract

Technological developments in the dissemination of information are increasingly rapid along with the increasing public need for fast and relevant access to information. The journalism industry is also following this trend by providing innovative information, especially through online platforms. Online news portals have become an inseparable part of the development of internet technology in the world of journalism, meeting the needs of an increasingly dynamic audience in seeking information. However, along with the emergence of this new media, especially with the use of social media and the development of journalism in website-based online news portals and mobile applications, there is an increasing need for technology to build online news portals. One technology that is widely used today is an Open Source based CMS, because apart from being cheap and easy to use, it is difficult to find a comparable alternative for building a modern online news portal. However, this research shows that the use of Open Source-based CMS, although it has many advantages, also has a number of problems that can have varying impacts on the long-term business of the online media industry. This research methodology uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type to gain an in-depth understanding of this phenomenon.

Abstract

Pre-school means a program for children aged 3 to 5 years, before entering kindergarten. Until now it has become commonplace for children aged 2 to 3 years to enter pre-school. The pre-school booking process uses social media such as Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook, but the drawback is that it is hampered by detailed information such as status, the booking data collection process is less structured so it is difficult to carry out bookkeeping. The aim of this research is to produce a website-based online pre school booking application in Kober Al Utama, Sukanagara District, Cianjur Regency which can assist pre schools in collecting data on facilities and schedules as well as the booking process carried out by parents. The methodology used for this research is RUP (Unified Modeling Language) with the stages of Inception, Elaboration, Construction. And the modeling uses UML (Unified Modeling Language) and uses Alpha testing using the Black Box Testing method. The research results are in the form of a website-based online pre school booking application. This application can help the public in carrying out the booking process.

Abstract

Garut Regency has unique characteristics, one of which is the famous souvenir industry. One of the culinary industries typical of Garut is Dodol Garut. Dodol Factory PT. Dr. However, there are still several manual processes in factory operations that have the potential to be developed into a more efficient system. This difficulty arises because inventory management is still done manually, resulting in a stock recording process that is not optimal and takes a long time because errors often occur in data management. The aim of this research is to develop business processes and information systems that can be used in managing dodol raw material warehousing. The business process method uses the FEFO (First Expired First Out) goods entry and exit system, as well as an ABC Classification-based raw material procurement decision making system. Mock-ups are used in prototype modeling to obtain the right system design. UML (Unified Modeling Language) diagrams are used to build information systems. This research resulted in a business process design and mock-up of a raw material warehouse information system. The results of the analysis are safety stock output, economic order quantity, and reorder point, where the system can calculate raw material stock and ABC classification so that it can prioritize raw material procurement.

Abstract

In fulfilling demand at PT. Garut Makmur Perkasa, the production process often experiences errors in recording and reporting, including in exchanging information between departments. This is caused by a lack of control in the recording process which still relies on manual methods and the absence of special procedures that regulate this process. Frequent errors in recording and reporting cause communication between departments to be hampered. Therefore, companies need Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) which regulate work procedures in the production process. To support this, an integrated information system is needed that can replace manual methods with digital methods. The method used in this research uses the waterfall method and SOP design uses the Cross Functional Flowchart method combined with narrative. This research only reaches the prototype stage of the manufacturing information system which was created using Canva web design simulation. This research produced a draft Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the production department, wetblue leather warehouse department, and finished goods warehouse department to help the company maintain employee consistency and performance. And a manufacturing information system to make it easier for employees to manage the recording process and exchange information between departments.

Abstract

In the current era of the industrial revolution, the need for human resources is increasingly stringent for skills that are in line with the latest technological developments. As an education provider, the Garut Institute of Technology strives to provide quality education to prepare alumni to be able to compete in the world of work. To get feedback from alumni, you need a way to get that information. Tracer study is an activity carried out by educational institutions to obtain information regarding the success of the educational process carried out by alumni. Apart from that, using the tracer study data can be used as evaluation material for educational institutions to improve learning and existing services. The Garut Institute of Technology, as a private university in Garut, which graduates hundreds of students each year, has carried out tracer study activities using the existing system. Based on the results of interviews conducted, there are system limitations in terms of monitoring in the form of the distribution of alumni who are already working and require a consultation feature which aims to be able to carry out online consultations regarding careers. The aim of this research is to build a web-based tracer study and build a tracer study system so that it can monitor alumni distribution and provide career-related consultations. This research uses the Agile methodology with the Scrum framework with the stages of requirements, product backlog, sprint planning, sprint, sprint review and sprint retrospective. By using system design modeling using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The results of this research are a system that can be used to determine the distribution of alumni and to provide feedback regarding the education received.

Abstract

Diseases in freshwater fish can be grouped into several types, namely diseases caused by bacteria and viruses. This greatly affects the survival of fish, deaths in large numbers result in huge losses for fish farmers because it can cause yields that are not optimal. This research aims to design a web-based expert system for freshwater fish disease diagnosis using the Forward Chaining inference method. The design method used is the Rational Unified Process (RUP). This expert system aims to diagnose freshwater fish diseases. This expert system was developed by involving knowledge from fish experts and a knowledge base that includes freshwater fish symptoms and diseases. The result of this research is a web-based application that uses the Forward Chaining inference method to determine freshwater fish diseases based on the input symptoms. This application involves designing use case diagrams, class diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, menu structures and interfaces. Alpha testing has resulted in an accurate system for producing drug administration recommendations based on a knowledge base that has been defined by fish experts. This research concludes that the use of the Forward Chaining inference method in an expert system for diagnosing freshwater fish diseases provides efficient and accurate results in providing recommendations for drug administration. With the existence of an expert system for diagnosing freshwater fish diseases that involves knowledge base sources from fish experts, fish farmers can be more effective in dealing with the symptoms and diseases suffered by fish. This is expected to support a sustainable increase in crop yields.

Abstract

The Indonesian Smart College Card Scholarship or KIP-K is one of the many scholarships provided by the government to continue their education to a higher level for students who excel but are constrained by costs. One of the universities in Garut that provides new student admissions through this scholarship route is the Garut Institute of Technology. Every year, the Garut Institute of Technology always experiences an increase in the number of KIP-K scholarship applicants, however this is not commensurate with the number of quotas obtained so a selection process must be carried out so that the scholarship can be right on target. The selection process itself is carried out manually without the help of a special system that can help select more precisely and efficiently. The aim of this research is to build a web-based prediction system application by applying the K-Nearest Neighbors classification model to help select prospective KIP-K scholarship recipients at the Garut Institute of Technology based on test scores, economic conditions, academic and non-academic achievements of each participant. The classification model is applied in the system as a process of classifying the eligibility of prospective recipients so that the selection process is more focused on participants who are categorized as eligible. The system was built using the waterfall approach method so that system development is more structured. This research produces an application in the form of a web-based prediction system that can help classify eligibility and select prospective KIP-K scholarship recipients at the Garut Institute of Technology with a system accuracy level in predicting participant eligibility of 91.86%.

Abstract

A Geospatial System is a platform created specifically for the administration of data that contains spatial dimensions, or in the sense of a computer system that has the capability to build, store, manage and present location information. As a government agency, the Garut District Health Service is responsible for managing policies, circulating information, supervising and recording pharmacies in the Garut area. However, until now the Health Service has not been enriched with system facilities capable of assisting the Health Service in carrying out its functions. When monitoring pharmacies, the Health Service visits the pharmacy. However, in terms of conveying information related to the geolocation of pharmacies to the public, the Health Service still does not have a special system for disseminating information related to these locations. The aim of this research is to create a web-based geospatial platform to map pharmacies in Garut city using leafletjs. The method used in this research is Rational Unified Process (RUP), the stages are inception, elaboration, construction and transition. The modeling used is Unified Modeling Language (UML) with stages using use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and class diagrams. The result of this research is to produce a geographical information system for mapping pharmacies which can make it easier for the Health Service to monitor, record and inform the locations of pharmacies in Garut City. After developing a web-based geospatial platform to map pharmacies in Garut City using the Js leaflet, this research also involved black box testing to ensure that the system was functioning properly and in accordance with the expected goals. The results of the black box testing show that the geographic information system for pharmacy mapping has successfully undergone a series of feasibility tests and is able to produce the expected results.

Abstract

In the context of current business developments, technology plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM). However, there are still many UMKM, including in Sukasenang Village, Garut Regency, which rely on manual systems in managing financial data, especially regarding debt recording which still uses risky handwritten methods. Obstacles in accounts payable and receivable management also appear, where recording errors and differences in calculations between customers, suppliers and employees often occur. In this context, this research aims to develop a web-based debt management application to provide an efficient solution for managing debt transactions accurately, reducing recording errors, and ensuring orderly data storage. The Rational Unified Process methodology was used in developing this application, involving the stages of Inception, Elaboration, Construction, and Transition, with alpha testing using the Black Box Testing method. The result is an effective application in managing UMKM debts and receivables, which is expected to make a valuable contribution to UMKM financial management, especially regarding managing business debts.

Abstract

Diseases that often attack cabbage plants such as soft rot, black rot, stem rot, crop worms, ground worms, leaf spot, leaf caterpillars and clubroot often occur, making it difficult for farmers to identify the disease. Diseases in cabbage plants are often a factor that cabbage farmers often complain about and many still have difficulty in diagnosing diseases that attack cabbage plants. In addition, cabbage farmers often do not have adequate knowledge about the various types of diseases that can attack cabbage plants, so they often have difficulty choosing the right treatment strategy. The aim of this research is to develop an expert system for diagnosing cabbage diseases using the forward chaining method. To provide benefits for farmers or experts to identify diseases that attack cabbage from the symptoms experienced by the plants. This system was built using the forward chaining inference method and the design method used the rational unified process method, the stages starting from inception, elaboration, construction and transition. In connection with this problem, to simplify or obtain information about the symptoms that occur in cabbage. This research includes developing an expert system and diagnosing cabbage diseases from symptoms collected using the forward chaining method. It is hoped that this system can help farmers or agricultural experts in preventing diseases that can damage cabbage plants and can improve quality and production. Good. As a result of the research, an expert system for diagnosing cabbage diseases was created. This application was built for farmers to diagnose diseases in cabbage from the symptoms they experienced. With this system, it can provide forgiveness and knowledge for farmers.
