Abstract

Currently, the benefits of using information technology have an impact on the human environment, one of which is the management of badminton sports halls. Badminton sports hall management is needed by badminton sports hall managers to make it easier to manage finances and make it easier to order badminton sports halls. Badminton sports hall management is still done manually, such as financial management which requires detailing income and expenditure data, resulting in less efficiency in badminton sports hall management. Apart from that, the public does not know about the existence of badminton sports halls due to lack of information. In the schedule ordering process, sports hall users must come directly to the venue, but sports hall users may not necessarily get the desired schedule availability, resulting in less time effectiveness and cost savings. This research aims to build a web management system for badminton sports halls to make it easier for badminton sports users in the scheduling process and make it easier for sports hall owners to manage their finances. The Web Engineering method was used in developing this application with the stages of communication, planning, modeling, construction and deployment, with system modeling using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). The results of the research are a web-based badminton sports hall management system, which can help badminton sports hall managers in building management and ordering schedules which can be done online.

Abstract

In the context of current business developments, technology plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM). However, there are still many UMKM, including in Sukasenang Village, Garut Regency, which rely on manual systems in managing financial data, especially regarding debt recording which still uses risky handwritten methods. Obstacles in accounts payable and receivable management also appear, where recording errors and differences in calculations between customers, suppliers and employees often occur. In this context, this research aims to develop a web-based debt management application to provide an efficient solution for managing debt transactions accurately, reducing recording errors, and ensuring orderly data storage. The Rational Unified Process methodology was used in developing this application, involving the stages of Inception, Elaboration, Construction, and Transition, with alpha testing using the Black Box Testing method. The result is an effective application in managing UMKM debts and receivables, which is expected to make a valuable contribution to UMKM financial management, especially regarding managing business debts.

Abstract

The application of sophisticated Augmented Reality (AR) technology in providing information about campus facilities is an innovative and effective approach. Continuous research is developing an Augmented Reality application that will provide a visual display of the facilities on the Garut Institute of Technology campus. This research effort is to change the Augmented Reality approach which previously focused on layout displays to place more emphasis on virtual displays of facilities, so that they are easier for students to understand. The research method used is Research and Development (RnD) carried out using the ADDIE development approach, which involves the sequence analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate. Application development is carried out using Visual Studio Code software. The results of this research show a virtual visualization of campus facilities, including various areas such as classrooms, parking areas, canteens, prayer rooms, and language laboratories. Users can access visualizations of these facilities via smartphones and other hardware, allowing them to view these facilities in virtual form and with detailed depictions of campus facilities. The results of testing user satisfaction with the application show a very good level of acceptance.

Abstract

Industrial development nowadays affects the increase in types of packaging waste which causes the accumulation of waste that has the potential to damage the environment. This research uses an Internet of Things for Automatic Waste Volume Monitoring System, so that waste management in an area can be improved. The purpose of this research is to make it easier for trashman to monitor the volume of the garbage collector on the notification feature. The research method used is the Rapid Application Development methodology with the Requirement Planning stage to analyze and identify the purpose of the system, then design the tools and system and create tools and system. Testing is used to evaluate the results of the tools and system. The result of the research is a prototype of an Internet of Things-based for Automatic Waste Volume Monitoring System tool equipped with a website-based monitoring system and for each user. Apart from that, the system which is equipped with a sensor that can detect the volume of the garbage collector is also equipped with an automatic opening and closing sensor to maintain the health of its users to provide answers to the problem of waste, especially in urban areas. Keywords: Internet of Things, Monitoring System, Waste, Waste Volume.

Abstract

Technological developments make it possible to integrate home electrical devices with control via smartphone. One important device is the socket, which many still use conventional models with weaknesses such as the risk of burning if there is excessive current and short circuits due to being stored in damp places. This research aims to design a smart electrical socket that utilizes Internet of Things technology using the Arduino Uno microcontroller. This socket allows users to control electrical sockets and monitor the temperature and humidity around the electrical socket via a smartphone application remotely while connected to the internet. This research uses a prototyping method, which allows gradual development and testing to achieve the desired results. The research results show that the designed system has stable performance with an average measurement delay of 5-22 ms. With the integration of IoT in this electrical socket, users can more easily manage electrical devices and monitor temperature conditions around the electrical socket, which not only adds comfort but also increases the security aspect.

Abstract

A line follower robot is a robotic system capable of autonomous navigation by following a predefined path using optical sensors. This research focuses on the development of a line follower robot for food delivery in the food and beverage industry, particularly in restaurants, cafes, and eateries. The industry faces challenges such as low service efficiency and long order waiting times, which can lead to customer dissatisfaction. The objective of this research is to build a robot that can enhance service efficiency and overall customer experience. The method used is action research following Kurt Lewin's model, which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The developed robot is equipped with an Arduino Uno, infrared sensors, and other components that allow for high-precision navigation. The research results show that the line follower robot successfully followed the predetermined path and delivered food efficiently. The evaluation indicates that the robot's speed needs to be adjusted according to the load to avoid deviation from the path. This research provides significant contributions to improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in the food and beverage industry.

Abstract

Technological advances in the 21st century demand Computational Thinking skills that are increasingly important in the digital era. However, the application of Computational Thinking (CT) at the primary and secondary education levels in Garut Regency is still limited. This study aims to improve the understanding of CT among students in elementary schools, junior high schools, and vocational high schools through a training program that includes pre-test, interactive training, and post-test. The training method was designed according to the educational level of the participants, using Bebras questions to train CT skills. The pre-test results showed an average initial score of 47.19, while the post-test results increased by an average of 25.75 points to 72.94. The findings show that the training successfully improved participants' understanding of CT through a structured approach, including introduction of concepts through sample Bebras problems, practice problems, as well as a comprehensive question and answer session.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has had a significant impact on various sectors, including education. One educational institution in Garut, Yayasan Al Musaddadiyah, faces challenges in effectively conveying information to prospective students. Traditional media such as brochures and pamphlets often fail to provide a comprehensive depiction and better visualization of the facilities and educational environment at the institution. As a solution, this research developed a Virtual Reality (VR) 360° media with a Sky View perspective to visualize the existing facilities and infrastructure at Yayasan Al Musaddadiyah. The study utilized the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method in the VR application development process. MDLC was chosen because it provides a systematic approach at each development stage, from concept to implementation and evaluation. In this research, various multimedia elements such as images, videos, and audio were integrated into the VR application to create an immersive and interactive experience for users. By leveraging VR 360° Sky View technology, prospective students and parents can directly view the educational environment and available facilities at the institution without physically visiting the location. Evaluation results showed that the use of VR-based information media successfully increased the interest and understanding of prospective students towards Yayasan Al Musaddadiyah. Additionally, this application proved effective in expanding the reach of information about the institution, particularly in the increasingly connected digital era. Thus, the development of VR-based information media not only provides a practical solution to the institution’s communication challenges but also opens up new opportunities as a promotional or marketing strategy for educational institutions in the future.
