Abstract

This article presents conceptual design of gender based-teaching material for teaching “Press and Journalistic Skill” to the students of Language and literature education department. This conceptual design is the result of the first year research finding of the two years scheduled. The teaching material developed was in the form of textbook. This teaching material was designed to improve students’ skill in press and journalism. To develop this instructional material, the writers used Research and Development method. The result of the research showed that the content of the textbook of press and journalism covers d the scope of communication, the nature, process and components of communication, mass communication and press/jurnalism, jurnalist, mass media, news, the ethics of journalism, and the press law. Abstract

AbstrakPenulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan rancangan pembelajaran materi pecahan kelas IV Sekolah Dasar (SD) dengan melalui pendekatan kontekstual. Pendekatan kentekstual (Contextual Teaching and Learning) adalah konsep belajar yang membantu guru mengaitkan antara materi yang diajarkan dengan situasi dunia nyata siswa dan mendorong siswa membuat hubungan antara pengetahuan yang dimilikinya dengan penerapannya dalam kehidupan mereka sehari-hari sebagai anggota keluarga dan masyarakat Dengan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis konteks maka guru akanterlatih merancang dan memfasilitasi jalannya pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa sehingga tercapailah belajar lebih bermakna bagi siswa.Kata kunci: Pembelajaran, Pendekatan kontekstual.

Abstract

Abstract: English as a kind of language is a tool for people to communicate. At the same time, language is an important and prominent part of culture. This paper emphasizes the importance cultural awareness in preserving the local culture for English Language Teaching (English Language Teaching). By using 4F approach (Folk Dance, Festival, Fair and Food), the students can get cultural understanding in promoting the local culture itself. Through this approach, it also shapes the students’ character that involves internal changes in terms of attitudes and values. Increasing cultural awareness means to see aspects of cultural differences. Through this approach also develops the students’ motivation to promote their local culture. Keywords: local culture,4F approach, cultural awareness

Abstract

ABSTRACTCareer aspiration is very important for students because career aspiration is the desire or hope, ideals, ambitions, and dreams that realistic individuals against certain achievements in the future. Career aspiration are associated with the primary desire of the individual, and an achievement that would like tried to be achieved. Based on the facts found in the field, the low high school graduates who do not attend school to college. In fact, the phenomenon had been contradiction with the high school purpose to continue their education to a higher level. That phenomenon is an indication that the students career aspirations are in the low category. One of the efforts to improving the students career aspiration is within information service. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of information services using discovery learning approach in improving students career aspiration. This study uses quantitative methods using Quasi Non Randomized Experiment with the design of pretest-posttest control group design. Subjects were students of SMAN 8 Padang as an experimental group and a students at SMAN 7 Padang as the control group. The research instrument used was Likert Scale models, then be analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test Two Independent Samples with SPSS version 17.00. The findings of this research generally indicates that the information service using discovery learning approach is effective in improving students career aspirations. Furthermore, research findings in particular that: (1) there are significant differences career aspiration in the students the experimental group before and after the information service using the approach of discovery learning, (2) there is a difference career aspiration in the control group before and after the information service without using the approach of discovery learning, (3) there is a difference career aspiration between the experimental group students were given information services using discovery learning approach to the control group were given the information service without using discovery learning approach. Based on the results of the study showed that the experimental group and the control group had increased scores in career aspirations but the experimental group experienced a greater improvement than the control group. Furthermore, based on the results of this study that can be suggested to the parties concerned to be able to work together to help students improve their career aspirations.Keywords: Career Aspiration of Students, Information Services, Discovery Learning

Abstract

AbstrakMatematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang tercantum dalam kurikulum dan perlu diberikan kepada semua peserta didik dari sekolah dasar sampai dengan sekolah menengah atas. Untuk membekali peserta didik dengan berbagai kemampuan tersebutdiperlukan tenaga pendidik (guru) yang kompeten dibidangnya. Kompetensi guru berkaitan dengan kemampuan guru dalam mengajar, membimbing, dan juga memberikan teladan hidup kepada siswa. Guru harus benar-benar kompeten dalam bidangnya dan memiliki komitmen tinggi pada bidangnya. Dalam upaya meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, kompetensi guru merupakan salah satu faktor yang amat penting.Kompetensi guru tersebut meliputi kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi profesional, kompetensi sosial dan kompetensi kepribadian.Kata Kunci : Profesional, Kompetensi Guru

Abstract

AbstrakBerdasarkan pengamatan penulis menunjukkan bahwa masih rendah, dan masih banyak atlet yang belum memiliki tingkat keterampilan yang baik. Masalah tersebut terjadi karena kurang tepatnya metode latihan yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengaruh pendekatan Metode Random Practice dan Metode Blocked Practice terhadap keterampilan dasar sepak takraw. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah berjumlah 28 atlet. Sedangkan sampel diambil dengan teknik Purposive Sampling dengan jumlah sampel 20 orang. Tes yang digunakan adalah tesketerampilan teknik dasar sepak takraw. data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan: (1) Metode Random practicememberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan teknik dasar sepak takraw siswa SMPN 1 Keluang, dari t hitung ﹥ t tabel = 11,64 > 1,833 rata-rata 49,99 pada pre test menjadi 63,35 pada post test. (2) Metode Blocked practice memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan teknik dasar sepak takraw siswa SMPN 1 Keluang, dari t hitung ﹥ t tabel = 15,88 > 1,833 rata-rata 50,01 pada pre test menjadi 57,06 pada post test. (3) Metode Random practice lebih berpengaruh dibandingkan dengan metode Blocked practice untuk meningkatkanketerampilan teknik dasar sepak takraw siswa SMPN 1 Keluang, dimana dari t hitung < t tabel = (6,52) < (1,833).Kata kunci: Random Practice dan Blocked Practice keterampilan dasar sepak takraw

Abstract

ABSTRACKAcademic procrastination is an act of delays in doing a task. Based on the findings in the field, it was revealed that there are students who perform academic procrastination action. Procrastination is done in the form of a delay doing the thesis that has an impact on the completion of the study. The findings of this researcher into an indication that students have academic procrastination problems in doing thesis. One effort to solve the problem is by providing information services. This research uses quantitative method. This research type is experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Research subjects amounted to 24 students of guidance and counseling courses above the eighth semester until academic year 2017/2018. The research instrument used Likert Scale model. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with the help of SPSS version 20.00. In general, research findings indicate that information service is effective in reducing student academic procrastination in doing thesis. Specifically, 1) the level of student academic procrastination in doing thesis before being given treatment is in very high category; 2) the level of student academic procrastination in doing thesis after being given the treatment is in the high category; and 3) there is a difference or decreased level of student academic procrastination in doing thesis after given information service. Based on the results of this study can be suggested to the relevant parties in order to work together in helping to overcome the academic procrastination of students in doing thesis. Keywords: Academic Procrastination, Information Service.

Abstract

AbstrakLatar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya penggunaanmodel pembelajaran yang tepat sesuai dengan materi dan tujuanpembelajaran. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalahbagaimanakah pengaruh model inkuiri terhadap kemampuansiswa kelas XI SMA Al-Mashri Pangkalan Balai KabupatenBanyuasin menentukan unsur-unsur intrinsik puisi BersatulahKaum Pelajar karya Rahmat Jabaril. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pengaruhmodel inkuiri terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menentukanunsur-unsur intrinsik puisi Bersatulah Kaum Pelajar karyaRahmat Jabaril. Dari hasil penelitian melalui tes, berupa tesobjektif, tes esai, angket dan wawancara yang dilakukan makadidapat hasil bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan modelinkuiri terhadap kemampuan siswa kelas XI SMA Al-MashriPangkalan Balai Kabupa-ten Banyuasin menentukan unsur-unsur intrinsik puisi Bersatulah Kaum Pelajar karya RahmatJabaril karena terbukti bahwa “t o ” lebih besar daripada “t tabel ”pada taraf signifikan 5%. Berdasarkan hasil tes siswa,setelah membandingkan hasil tes awal dengan hasil tes akhirdiperoleh bahwa “t 0 ” > “t tabel ”, yaitu 8,52  2,02 pada tarafsignifikan 5% dengan d.b. 38.Kata kunci: model, inquiri, unsur instrinsik, puisi.

Abstract

Abstract -Based on information obtained from teachers whoteach science in the classroom VII Junior High School 7Palembang, that there are still reluctant learners are invitedto think analysts in physics learning materials, they seemreluctant to participate in the learning process. This isindicated by the appearance of passivity, silences justlistening to the material students are taught by a teacher.Communication that occurs is one-way communication, thatthe teacher to the student. Besides learning a monotonesystem causes boredom in students. As well as a lack ofmeaningful learning system that causes students to forgeteasily. Based on these encouraging researchers to conductresearch on the application of mnemonic strategies inlearning physics class VII Junior High School 7 Palembangon Quantities and Units of matter in the first half andhopefully with this strategy researchers can motivatestudents in learning physics and students can make it easierto remember the lessons so as to enhance learningeffectiveness in improving learning outcomes. In this studyraise the issue of how the application of mnemonic strategiesin teaching physics in class VII School 7 Palembang.Therefore, the goal of researchers is whether or not theapplication of mnemonics in learning physics strategy VIIclass in Junior High School 7 Palembang. The variables inthis study were student learning outcomes through theapplication of mnemonic strategies. The populations in thisstudy were junior high school students in grade VII at StateJunior High School 7 Palembang graders VII.3 The sampleis composed of 19 male students and 21 female students. Themethod used in this study is descriptive. Data collection wasdone by using the test. Data obtained from the tests wereanalyzed by quantitative descriptive.From the results of research and discussion is done, it can beconcluded that the study results after the Mnemonicstrategies applied on the subject of quantities and units inJunior High School 7 Palembang at the first meeting of thesub Physics and Measurement of Quantities of materialvalue is an average of 77.27 with a category of students fine.At the second meeting of the International System of Unitssub content and presentation of results of measurements anaverage value of 79.11 with a student either category. Thenon the third meeting of the final test(evaluation) the level ofstudents' understanding of matter Quantities and units withan average of 87.07 with the excellent category. This suggeststhat the success rate of students with an average value ofeach meeting have increased quite good and the applicationof mnemonic strategies can be applied in the learningprocess.Keywords- application of mnemonic strategy, physics

Abstract

AbstrakLaboratorium adalah sarana penunjang dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Sebagai sarana penunjang, laboratorium berfungsi sebagai tempat praktikum beberapa mata kuliah yang memerlukan praktik agar tercapai hasil yang maksimal dalam meningkatkan kompetesi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Selain sebagai tempat kajian ilmu, laboratorium juga berpungsi sebagai wadah pendalaman dan penghayatan   dalam bidang sastra atau biasa disebut apresiasi karya sastra. Adapun apresiasi karya sastra dalam sanggar Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia adalah mengapresiasi drama/teater dan Puisi . Dalam drama kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah 1)olah tubuh 2) olah vocal, dan 3) olah sukma. Dalam mengapresiasi puisi hal-hal yang dilakukan adalah pengkajian puisi diantaranya dengan praktik menulis dan membaca puisi serta latihan musikalisasi puisi. Laboratorium terbukti dapat meningkatkan apresiasi terhdap karya sastra, bahkan lebih dari itu, laboratorium telah menumbuhkan rasa cinta terhadap karya sastra dan merupakan sebuah wadah yang juga dapat menumbuhkan tali persaudaraan antar mahasiswa. Kata Kunci: Laboratorium, apresiasi, karya sastra
