Abstract

ABSTRAK There are several factors which influence the low-mark of students, in Biology subject such as low-interested of student, felt borning while learning and pasive in learning process which mean that students tend te be’un brave to express their opinion so it is difficult to know how far students understanding about the material. At least, teacher become the center of learning.One way to solve this problem is by giving active learning strategy type Giving Question and Getting Answer toward students Biologi achievement class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten West Pasaman. The type of this reseach is experimental with Randomized Control- Group Posttest only design. Population of this research is second semester of students class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan academic year 2013/2014. Which Consist of three classes. Purposive Sampling is used in technique of sampling which is gotten  as experimental class and  as control class. Test is used as final instrument in objektif form which consist of 28 items. Data analysis is done by t-test with criterion t-calculate > t-table. From the data analysis it can be gotten, the average of students Biologi mark in experimental class 76,78 with 10,32 standard deviation , otherwise, control class with 58,13 in average and 12,56 standard deviation. From t-test analysis, it can be proven t- calculate (5,79) >t-table (1,68). It can be concluded that, Active Learning Strategy type Giving Question and Getting Answer can improve students Biologi achievement class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan

Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning process that have done by teacher be providing can reactived the students to learn and develop  the various potential in themselves. To achieve the learning goals that be providing, needs a media  that can help teachers to deliver the information of lesson materials to students. Either   of the learning media that can use by teachers are using lesson materials. The lesson materials that usually used in learning proses of  biology class VIII in SMP N 1 Koto XI Tarusan is textbooks. The book was unattractive, the picture in the book was uncommunicative, has not complete and still black-white colours. Related to them, the lesson materials can be provide in handout form were complete with picture and concept map in the materials circulatory system of humans. This research have to produce handout that complete with picture and concept map were valid and practical of the materials of human circulatory system. This research is development research with a procedural model of 4D models. This research only made with three phase, that is define, design and develop. This research made in college of STKIP PGRI West Sumatra and SMPN 1 Koto XI Tarusan class VIII semester of academic year 2013/2014. The subjects of this research consisted of 4 validator , and to test the practicalities done by 2 teachers and 20 students. The data of this reseach is primary data from questionnaires validity and practicalities, then analyzed with descriptive analysis. The results of data analysis showed that average value of validity handout complete with pictures and concept maps resultant that is 88.78 % categorized valid. The results of test analysis practicalities handout with pictures and concept map by teachers with average value 93.05 % with very practically category, whereas the average value of students practically are 88.22 % with very practically category. Based on the research that  have done, it can be conclud that  handout complete with pictures and concept map of the matterial of human circulatory system for junior high school students who meet the criteria for a valid result and very practically.

Abstract

 The basic of this study was influenced by the less of Biology achievement of students on average scores were under the standard criteria, specifically on Ecosystem subject at grade VII of second semester in SMPN 3 Lembang Jaya while the learning process still focus on teacher. There are many various models that can be used to make the centre learning be focus on student. For example, cooperative learning models by using Think Pair Share at grade VII of SMPN 3 Lembang Jaya, Solok on year 2013/2014. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of Think Pair Share strategy toward students Biology achievement at grade VII of SMPN 3 Lembang Jaya Solok. The type of this study was experimental research with registerd students of 2013/2014 at  grade VII as the population. The designed of this study was Randomized Control Group Posttest only Design. According to the analysis results the average results on experimental class was 80,58 with reability 11,49, while the average results on controlling class was 70,73 with reability 11,55. From the t-test, it was resultedt-count= 3,05 and t-table= 1,67 it means that tcount>ttable, in case the hypothesis in level 95% can be accepted. It can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning by using Think Pair Share has positive effect toward students Biology achievement at grade VII in SMPN 3 Lembang Jaya, Solok on year 2013/2014.

Abstract

 Handout picture of a network tree with one of the teaching materials that help students in understanding the subject matter . This study aims to determine the validity and practicalities handout picture with network tree. This research is the development of the use of 4 - D Models consisting of 4 stages namely, define, design, develop, and disseminate. However , in this disseminate stage was not involved. This handout is validated by 3 lecturer and high school teachers PGRI   1 Padang. Test practicalities by 2 teachers and 20 students of class XI science. Data were analyzed with the technique and the percentage of processed descriptively. Handouts produced has a valid criterion is 81.57 %. Handouts are also said to be practically used by teachers and students with an average of 77.44 % and 81.25 %. Therefore, it can be concluded that the network tree with pictorial handouts on material structure and function of animal tissues generated are valid and practical.

Abstract

  ABSTRACT Algae are chorophil organism, almost all the cells were able to reproduce and algae epipitik also part perifitik algae that lives attached to various substrates such as attached to aquatic plants. West Sumatra is an area that has a lot of lakes, one of which is Singkarak lake. Singkarak like used as tourist areas and communities where livelihoods by Singkarak lake. Given the importance of the presence of algae in the water and the algae should be preserved. Research on algae in Singkarak lake epipitik conducted in December 2013. Purpose sampling metode to epipitik algae in Jariamun attache in Singkarak lake. This research was conducted by survey method (direct observation), sampling was performed at 3 stations. Station 1 in the Nagari Koto Singkarak subdistrict Saniang Baka Solok. This area is one of the breeding fish/cage as well as agricultural land in the Singkarak lake. Station 2 in the Regional District of Koto Singkarak Wall Nuts Solok district, regional household waste contamination. Station 3 in the Regional District of propagation Ombilin Tanah Datar, Batang River Watersheds Ombilin tipped on Singkarak lake. From this study found 25 species of algae epipitik 4 classes. In class Cyanophyceae found 3 types, Chlorophyceae 7 types,14 types Bacillaryophyceae, and Dinophyceae found 1 type. Algae is the most common of the 14 species Bacillaryophyceae class because the class Bacillaryophyceae conditions encountered in a variety of aquatic life and is one of the largest of algae group with high diversity and great abundance and wide distribution. While the least class Dinophyceae found as the most widespread distribution found in the oceans, so the Singkarak lake few found.

Abstract

 Handout is written material that prepared by teacher for students. The teacher can make handout by some literatures that have relevance from basic competence that will be achieve by students.   Based on researcher observation and interview with teacher who teaches biology at SMPN 2 Lembah Gumanti, learning process had used handout but it is still not interested because there is only theory without contextual picture and also not enough sources. Then, based on interview to students, the researcher found that not all of students have handout. Next, the aim of this research is to produce a handout that contextual principle and have mapping on chemicals material in life that valid and practice. The type of this research is development research by procedural model that have a purpose to produce a product. The product will be developed by three steps of four D Models. They are defined, designed, and developed. The first step (define) is consist of curriculum analysis and students analysis. The second step (design) is done handout designed that contextual principle by using mapping on chemical material in life for junior high school students. Then, the third step (developed) is done validity test by two lecturers and two teachers at SMPN 2 Lembah Gumanti. Then, practicalities test by two teachers and twenty two students of SMPN 2 Lembah Gumanti. The data analyzed by using presentence technique and descriptively. The result of validity test is indicated that the handout is valid by criterion 88,8% viewed by didactic aspect, construction, and technique. Then, the result of practicalities handout test by teacher is very practice with criterion 90,8% meanwhile practicalities handout test by students with criterion 85,9%. In conclusion, the researcher found that handout made by teacher is valid and practice.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT   In  the  learning  process  the  teacher  as  the  facilitator  should  be  able  to  use  the  varyingstrategies and media, so that stud ents learn more in the spirit and learning process more interesting,so that student learning outcomes for the better, because of the low student learning outcomes arecaused  b y many factors, both factors of students and factor of the teacher. Therefore, teachers canuse  a  variety  of  strategies  and  media  are  varied,  so  that  the  goal  can  be  achieved  with  goodlearning.  One  of  them  is  the  use  o f  interactive  media  with  charging  TTS,  This  study  aims  todetermine  the  effect  of  the  use  of interactive med ia with  charging TTS  on learning outcomes inbiology  class  XI  student of SMAN  2  Lengayang, This  research  is  an  experimental  study  with  adesign  Rando mized  Control  Group  Posttest  Only Design. The  population  in  this  study  were  allstudents  of  class  XI  in  SMAN  2  Lengayang  enrolled  in  the  second   semester  of  academic  year200 13 /2014.  Sampling  was  done  by  p urposive  sampling  technique.  Then  by  using  purposivesampling obtained experimental class ( XIIA1 ) and control classes ( XIIA2  ). Data were analyzedusing t-test. Fro m the results of the study revealed that the experimental class had an average value( 74,91 ) is higher than the average value of the control class ( 59,8 ).  After the data were analyzedby t test, obtained the price thi t ung  7, 16 and tt ab e l  1, 67. Thus t c oun t  > t t a bl e ,  which means that H1  isaccepted. In other words, it can be concluded that the use of interactive media  with charging TTShas  an  influence  on  learning  outcomes  in  biology  class  XI  student  of  SMAN  2  Lengayang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Fern is one of the plants that can be found in the forest and is a group of low level plants with a high level of species diversity. Ferns thrive in temperate climates; they are easily found in the forests. On the side of the road, in the trunk or growing on the soil. Bayang sani’s waterfall is a tourist place with a fairly high humidity that makes lots of ferns grow. Local government will inaugurate this places as a tourism area in south pesisir regency. This situation will be resulted on the construction of larger roads for the visitors who come on tourism sites in baying sani. The development on the reconstruction can be harmful for the plants around the waterfall, especially ferns grown at the edge of the waterfall. This study was conducted from February to March 2014 in   the   Bayang  sani’s   Tourism  area,   bayang   subdistrict,  south   pesisir  regency.   Further, identification of the sample was conducted at the botany laboratory of biology education program STKIP PGRI of West Sumatra. The research method is the descriptive survey. Data of the research is analyzed descriptively based on the data and description of the species obtained. Based on the research of the types of terrestrial and epiphytic ferns in Bayang sani’s tourism area, Bayang subdistrict,  South  Pesisir  Regency,  it  was  found  that  there  are  21  species  of  terrestrial  and epiphytic ferns with 14 species   of terrestrial ferns and 7 species of epiphytic fern which belong to the 2 classes, 11 families, 17 genera, 21 species.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Handout is learning materials given to the students when they are involved in a learning activity. Teachers can design handout by referring to several literatures which are relevant to the basic competence to be achieved. Based on the previous observation and interview condukted at MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang, it was found that the handout for teaching Biology in the second semester  in  class  VIII  was  not  available  yet.  They  used  Student  Worksheet  designed  by commercial publisher and textbook provided at school. The availabel textbooks were limited and they is contain black and white pictures. Whereas,  in the learning process, the studens were required to understand the concepts of the learning materials being presented. To understand the concepts, the students needed to be led by adding conceptual map in the beginning of the learning materials.  They were  intended  to  describe  meaningful relationship  among  the concepts.  This research was intended to produce a pictured handout started with conceptual map on Stucture and Function of Plant Tissues which was valid and practical. This was a developmental research which used 4-D models including defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The data collected was primary data gotten from the lecturers, the teachers and the students. The data gotten was analyzed descriptively. The result of the research revealed that the handout developed was valid in which the validity score was 87,80%, the handout was also practic. This could be seen from the score given by the teachers which was 81,94% and the score given by the students which was88,27%. Thus, it was concluded that the handout developed had been very valid and very practic.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Modul is a form teaching material which stake to learned with autonomous by the students. The result of observation in SMAN 6 Padang, in that school there is no good modul. Based on the cases, have been conducted by development of modul that begin with concept map in exretion system for SMA class XI.  The purpose of this research to resulted modul that begin with concept map in exretion system material which valid and practice. The research is development research with use the development of modle 4-D which consist of define step, design step, develop step and disseminate step, disseminate step do not conducted because the limit of the researcher. The subject of the research consists of 4 people validator, and for test practicalities 2 people of biology teacher and 35 students of SMAN 6 Padang class XII in ekskresi system material. The data of the research is primary data which obtained from questionnaire validity and practicalities, however in analysis with descriptive analysis. The result of analysis data showed that modul that begin with concept map had the average 87,27% with valid category. The practicalities by the teacher and students to be obtained average 98,33% and 90,09%.  Both of them to be categories very practice. In conclusion modul teaching material that begin with concept map in exretion system material for SMA which resulted fulfill criteria that valid and very practice.Â
