Abstract

AbstractLanguage style that used by the writer in his work is thought and feelings which create an aesthetic work. This study aims to describe language style of Soneta’s song lyrics in Emansipasi Wanita album. This album is the XIII albums of Soneta’s group. Method of this study is qualitative descriptive method. Based on analysis result, language style found in the song lyrics of Emansipasi Wanita album is a rhetorical language style and figurative language. Rhetorical language style includes alliteration, assonance, euphemism, periphrasis, hyperbole and oxymoron. Meanwhile, the figurative language includes simile, metaphor, personification and synecdoche. Key Words: Language style, Rhetorical, Figurative, Song Lyric.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the message of education values in Sang Pemimpi novel by Andrea Hirata. The message of education values as the indicators in this study are moral value, beauty value, religious value and the truth value. The data of this research is from Sang Pemimpi novel by Andrea Hirata. Method of this study uses qualitative descriptive, it means that decomposes the data in the words form; it is not in the numbers form. The novel that used in this study was analyzed and interpreted according to the novel condition based on the theory, then described according to the objective of the study. The result and discussion shows Sang Pemimpi novel by Andrea Hirata can be concluded that the novel has educational values including moral values such as helpfulness attitude, courage and commitment, cooperation, caring and empathy, humor, responsibility, beauty value, religious value and truth value. Key Words: Literature; Novel; Education Value.

Abstract

AbstractIssues addressed in this study are the mechanisms of language acquisition in children ages 1 and 5 years. Based on these problems, this study aimed to describe the mechanisms of language acquisition in children aged 1 year and the mechanisms of language acquisition in children aged 5 years. The method used in this research is a method of descriptions by using a qualitative approach. The samples in this study were children aged one year from Sidoharjo Pringsewu and children five years of age who come from Panjerejo Gading Rejo. Language acquisition data taken through the interview process, observation, and record narration in a straightforward manner. The results showed that in children aged one year, was able to say a few words, though the words are spoken and the child is not yet clear exactly what is being taught in imitating their parents. Daffa (five year olds) at his age already have good language skills. Sentences that conveyed is understood by others. In conversation he was able to use words that connect cause and effect, such as the word "may" or "should". Keyword: mechanisme, language acquisition, age, children

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to obtain a description of the characteristics of talk learning a language lecturer in sociolinguistics (bilingualism and diglossia). The method used in this study is a qualitative method of data collection and data analysis. At the stage of data collection and analysis of data used refer to the method and note. The technique used in this study are freely refer to the technique involved capably (SBLC), competent engineering and technical notes. The data source of this research is a lecturer who conduct learning activities by taking into account the characteristics of speech and use of language. Research result showed that there were 103 utterances of the four types of activities of lecturers, which explains, asks, ruled, and strengthen. Activities to explain as much as 89 utterances, then followed by asking 12 speech activity, as well as govern the activities and there are 2 amplifies speech. Of all the characteristics that dominate talk is characteristics explained by using interrogative sentence as much as 89 utterances. Case is because the lecturers use the lecture method because the material is considered support to speak a lot in class.Keywords: Characteristics of Speech, Language Lecturer, Sosiolinguistic, Bilingualism and Diglossia.

Abstract

AbstractThe speech form that communicates imperatively is not only interpreted as command utterances, but also has other meanings of imperative. Especially when a speech communicates indirectly, certainly need to know the hidden imperative. This study illustrates how important to understand the meaning of imperative that contains in various communications, including trading communications in order to obtain the purpose of communication straightly. This study uses qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The data was analyzed in depth and then presented straightly. The data of this study is the seller / buyer utterances in Pasarbaru Kedondong Pesawaran District of Lampung Province. The result of this study showed that imperative meaning of contradiction, requests, and suggestions always used in communication and selling.  Key Words: Imperative, Declarative, Interrogative, Context of Situation.

Abstract

AbstractWriting is a language skill used to communicate indirectly. Writing is a productive and expressive activity. Writing skill or composing is an ability to construct sentences properly and appropriately based on the language grammatical rules; good writing and effective depend on the sentence. This study examines the correlation between effective sentence mastery and diction mastery with exposition writing ability on SMP Negeri 1 Banyumas VII class the second semester. This study uses correlational method. Based on the result, the correlation between effective sentence mastery and diction mastery with exposition writing ability shows the determination coefficient in effective sentence mastery and diction mastery with exposition writing ability is 0,68 with effective sentence mastery and diction mastery toward exposition writing ability is 68%. The higher students’ effective sentence mastery the exposition writing ability is increasing. Otherwise, the diction mastery has close correlation with exposition writing ability.  Key Words : Effective Sentence, Diction, Exposition Writing Ability

Abstract

Abstract Hikayat Raja Budak (HRB) is one of Malay literature in prose. Based on the content, HRB contains relevant high moral teaching current life. Besides that HRB reflected the custom which is existed of Malay kings of yore, especially the customs that inherited from Sriwijaya era. This study aims to describe the position and function of Hikayat Raja Budak. The methods of this research are using descriptive and analytical methods. Descriptive method was used to describe the data in the form of HRB manuscript. HRB manuscript that examined in this study was obtained from Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia (PNRI). Based on its position in Malay literature HRB can be classified in the Malay literary that influenced by Hindu-Islam transition. This classification based on the story that contains blend elements of Hinduism and Islam. The story function of HRB is for education, especially moral education, events preservation or applicable customs of ancient Malay kings, and also entertainment.Key Words: Position, Function, Malay Tale, Hikayat Raja Budak.

Abstract

Abstract There are several ways to appreciate literature, especially poetry genre besides activities to understand the fundamental and elements contained in the literature. One of them is paraphrasing the song lyrics. Paraphrases activities were taught in schools ranging from Elementary, Junior High, Senior High and Universities. The results of this study can be used as the concrete illustration or creative and innovative literature learning alternative ways in literature appreciating activity. Paraphrase activity of poetry genre can be done through bound paraphrasing and free paraphrasing. This study uses qualitative descriptive method by analyzing the data and presenting it straightly. The result shows that the song lyric of “sakitnya tuh di sini” contains of disappointment because of infidelity lover or disappointed of betrayed love. Key Words: Literature, Paraphrase, Song Lyric.
