Abstract

This research is about work motivation of housekeeping employees in Comfort Hotel City Dumai. This study aims to find out how the motivation of employee housekeeping work at Comfort Hotel Dumai City Province. The sample in this study amounted to 20 people by using the sample population technique. This study uses quantitative descriptive method to classify the data and then compiled by using the frequency and see the mode. And for data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires. By using Likert scale as a measuring tool. Based on the results of research obtained on employee motivation housekeeping in Comfort Hotel Dumai City Riau Province is less agree / less motivated. This is evidenced by the total overall average gain from internal and external factors is 3 points.Keywords: motivation, intern factor, ekstern factor

Abstract

This research explains North Korea's motivation in terminating cooperative relations with South Korea in the Kaesong Industrial Complex. The end of cooperation is marked by the closing of Kaesong Industrial Complex in 2013. This research used qualitative methods, and used case as a strategy in this research. In this research, the data was collecting by used library research techniques where this techniques is collecting data sourced from the literature, like book, website, official publications, and journal. This research used mercantilisme perspective, with the theory of national interest. This research focused on nation-state as level analysis. This research shows that the closure of kaesong industrial area by north korea happened because the clash of interest between North Korea and South Korea. Besides, this research explain strategic value of Kaesong Industrial Complex and impact of the closing of this area.Keyword: Kaesong Industrial Complex, Closure, Strategic Value, Impact.

Abstract

Alternative medicine is now the main purpose besides hospitals for the community, especially rural or middle class people, with lower cost and easier distance in access one of Miftahussifa alternative treatment which now become one of the goals for Suka Makmur villagers for treatment. The purpose of this study is to find out how the system in doing Miftahussifa in the treatment and how the benefits for the health of the community around where Motivation is a theory that is used in which each patient must have the motivation to heal and find ways to do the healing as well as the five patients which was involved in this study. From the seam of patients in the find out where the alternative treatment Miftahussifa is very useful existence for the sick around the community with a cheaper cost and easy distance in access, but this treatment can also be done for people who do not have disease for do preventive treatment before illness.Keyword : Alternative Medicine

Abstract

Badik is a tradiotanal weapon of Bugis tribe. Bugis society believes bringing Badik can bring authority and helpes in a very urgent situation. When wanting to travel far, the man Bugis tribe who believe in the strength of Badik reluctant to leave Badik, as much as possible Badik it will be brought with him. In this case is certainly a controversy of the Indonesian Law with the belief of the community against customary tradition’s including in it the traditonal weapon Bugis tribe Badik or Kawali. Both have an equally strong position in society. With very clear Indonesian Law prohibits individual’s carrying sharp weapon’s, but for the community of Bugis is a protector for him. the theory used is the theory of Symbolic Interactionisme by George Herbert Mead.Data analysis was done by descriptive method with qualitative approach, the data collecting technique in the research was purposive where the respondent is 7 people consisting of the elder and the ordinary people who have Badik aged 30 years above. From the results of the research in the field, it is known that the social function of Badik for the tribe of Bugis in the urban village of Kijang, the subdistrict of Reteh, the downstream Indragiri Hilir, that is the identity of the Bugis man to maintain the self – esteem (siri). The strength of the Badik comes from the old iron which has long been believed to have magical powers that can affect the condition, the state of the owner. The beliefs of the Bugis tribe people against Badik are still attached to this day, but the public understanding of the symbol’s found in Badik has been reduced.Kata Kunci:Meaning , Badik, Bugis Tribe.

Abstract

The number of tourist visits in the Kasang Kulim Zoo increased from year to year but not too significant. Given the opportunity Kasang Kulim Zoo this is the only Zoo in Riau province, the purpose of this study to determine the attractiveness of Kasang Kulim Zoo and to know the management effort in managing the attraction of Kasang kulim Zoo. This research was done in Kasang Kulim Zoo Kampar District. This research uses qualitative methode with descriptive approach by collecting data and information field and explain in the form of description without testing hypothesis or make prediction. Analysis data technic obtained by field observation, interview and literature study in though or in the analysis to achieve the ultimate goal. Based on the research results of existing tourist attraction in the Kasang kulim Zoo are in the category of "good". The better the tourist attraction that ad at Kasang Kulim Zoo then the more the number of tourist visits.Keywords: Tourist attraction, Management, Zoo

Abstract

Film is a media of mass communication that still have audiences until now. Film have some functions such as informative, educative, and persuasive. Beside it, film also become a media of life representation. Researcher lift a film entitled Tabula Rasa that representation unity in diversity values within. Tabula Rasa is a film that merge unity in diversity values between the characters. Tabula Rasa storied about struggle in life of nomads from two provinces in Indonesia. Within different things, they are can melted and re-found their dreams because of foods. The goal of this research is to know the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth by Roland Barthes that have in Tabula Rasa film. Beside it, to know the values of unity in diversity representation in Tabula Rasa film.The research method is cualitative that referring to semiotics analysis of Roland Barthes. The subject of the research is values of unity in diversity with research object is Tabula Rasa film. Barthes describes 3 his opinions that denotation, describes about signifier and signified in reality with explicit meaning. Connotation describes about signifier and signified related in non-reality with implicit meaning. And myth describes about customs and reliance applied in society.The result of this research show that scenes researched related with the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth by Roland Barthes. And the result also shows that have the representation of unity in diversity values in Tabula Rasa film are inclusive behavior, accomodate pluralistic character, not looking for his own win, deliberation to reach consensus, based on love and willing to sacrifice. From those 5 indicators researcher found the values of unity in diversity deeply and detail such as cultural diversity of nation, tolerance to differences, democracy, and to help each other.Keyword : Representation, Film, Unity in Diversity

Abstract

Sales promotion that have the form of discount voucher or discount coupon is usually a discounted coupon distributed through advertising and can be used in certain stores only. Coupon guarantees certain savings on selected or selected products when it’s indicated as points on purchase. One of the discount vouchers is brosisdeal. Brosisdeal discount voucher contains discount from various merchants in Pekanbaru. This Brosisdeal discount voucher is promoted through social media instagram. Currently, instagram is the one of popular social media so the promotion of brosisdeal discount vouchercan lead to consumer purchasing decisions. The theory used in this research is S-R theory. The purpose of this research is to determine there is any influence sales promotion discount vouchers through social media brosisdeal’s instagram to consumer purchasing decisions at local merchants Pekanbaru.The method used is explanative quantitative using random sampling technique and the number of samples as much as 267 respondents. Researchers collected data with questionnaires. To find out there is any influence between variable X and variable Y, researcher use simple linear regression analysis. To process the test questionnaire data is done by using SPSS program Windows version 23.Based on the results of simple linear regression gets the value of regression coefficient in this research is Y = 12.884 + 0.495 X with a significance level of 0.000. Of course it’s smaller than α = 0.05. Its means that there is influence sales promotion vouchers discount through social media brosisdeal’s instagram to consumer purchasing decisions at local merchant Pekanbaru by 19% and classified as very weak category of influence. Although not dominant but respondents pay attention to the contents of the message delivered and purchase decisions arise. Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence of organizational culture and work discipline on nurse performance in Hospital Private Lancang Kuning PekanbaruThis research method is descriptive and quantitative by using program of SPSS 21, where sample used is nurse performance in Hospital Private Lancang Kuning Pekanbaru with respondents as many 86 people. For sampling technique used census method. The Data collection techniques through questionnaires and interviews.The results of ananlisis use validity test, reability test, determination test, simple linear regression test, multiple linear regression test, t test and F test so that it can be seen that motivation variables significantly influence nurse performance, that work discipline has a significant effect on nurse performance, and A significant influence between motivation and work discipline on nurse performance.Keyword: Motivation, Work Discipline, and Employee Performance

Abstract

Cosmetics industry and abroad pace in marketing the product in order to determine the success of corporate goals. Marketing communication is an effort to deliver the message to the public, especially the target target of the existence of products in the market. Advertising (advertising) is one of the most commonly used ways companies use to target audiences. This media is considered most effective in influencing consumers to make purchases. Advertising often leads the audience to believe in the product, thus encouraging potential customers to consume and maintain consumer loyalty. Wardah is the first cosmetic to have a halal TV commercial on television. Wardah cosmetic advertisement halal version from the beginning is the first cosmetic advertisement with halal theme. The purpose of this research is to know how big influence of kosher Wardah cosmetic advertisement from beginning in television to consumer purchasing decision in Pekanbaru.This research is done by explanative quantitative research method and technique done in collecting data that is questioner, and also use documentation. Population of this research is consumer wardah in Pekanbaru counted 96 responden.Teknik sampling from this research is accidental sampling. To know how big influence between variable X and variable Y, researcher use simple linear regression analysis. While to process the test data questionnaire, done with the help of Statistic Program and Service Solution (SPSS) program Windows version 22.0. The theory in this study using Stimulus - Response with the help of Dagmar model. These purchasing decisions are influenced by ad stars, ad themes, advertising slogans, advertising messages and ad illustrations. In the beginning prospective consumers wardah from not know to know, then understand and bear fruit beliefs that affect the purchase decision to buy wardah products.Result of research indicate that there is influence of kosher wardah cosmetic advertisement from beginning to consumer purchasing decision wardah in pekanbaru. With the value of simple analysis result (r) is 0.1901 da r2 (rsqaure) of 0.34 or 34% and it can be concluded that kosher Wardah cosmetic advertisement from the beginning on television to consumer purchasing decision in Pekanbaru able to influence purchase decision significantly. The effect of 55.8% belongs to the category of influence is quite strong.

Abstract

Based on the data that researchers get from the Department of Culture and Tourism Kuantan Singingi regency that there is indeed less interest people to cultural traditions boat baganduang. The purpose of this research is to know the strategy of audience, strategy of message, and strategy of choosing / using media used by Culture and Tourism Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency in promoting boat culture to society.In this study the authors use descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques are grouped through observation, interview and documentation. Informants in this study amounted to 9 people taken based on the technique of purposive sampling, the Head of Culture and Tourism Office of Kuantan Singingi, Public Relation and Tourism Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency, Head of Marketing and Economy Division of Culture and Tourism Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency, 3 visitors which witnessed the culture of baganduang boat and 3 visitors who have never witnessed the culture of baganduang boat. Interactive data analysis model of the researcher used to describe the result of research in data analysis technique and to check the validity of data of researcher using triangulation technique.The results showed that the communication strategy of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Kuantan Singingi Regency in promoting the culture of baganduang boat that is from the determination of the audience is the whole community of Lubuk Jambi, Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict and surrounding areas in Kuantan Singingi Regency. After that the strategy message used is the content of messages that are persuasive and informative, which is packed with how to create a short message that attracts the attention of audiences and messages using the symbol / pictures. And the last media strategy used by the Office of Culture and Tourism Kuantan Singingi Regency in promoting the culture of baganduang boat is electronic media, online media, and print media campaign.Keyword: Communication Strategy, Promoting
