Abstract

This study was aimed to found puffer fish species belong to Tetraodontidae family from the estuary waters of Bengkalis Riau Province. Sampling was conducted from September 2012 to June 2013 at estuaries of Pakning, Bengkel and Jangkang rivers. We found seven species of puffer fish belongs to Tetraodontidae, they were grouped into 4 genera. Those fishes were Tetraodon nigroviridis, Tetraodon fluviatilis, Sphoeroideslunaris, Sphoeroides oblongatus, Chonerhinos amabilis, Chonerhinos sillus and Chelonodon patoca. The most abundant species is Tetraodon nigroviridis (25 individuals), while Chelonodon patoca one individual.

Abstract

The of BaxSr1 -xTiO3 (BST) solution preparation by using of sol-gel technique method has been done. The chemicals used were barium carbonate (BaCO3), strontium carbonate (SrCO3) and titanium oxide (TiO2) with composition x = 0.3; x = 0.2; x = 0.1 in the temperature anealing of 5000C, 5500C and 6000C for 20 minutes. The results obtained from this research is the absorbance spectrum. Samples Ba0,3Sr0,7TiO3, Ba0,2Sr0,8TiO3 and Ba0,1Sr0,9TiO3 at a temperature of 5000C have a wavelength of 438.5 nm and absorbance intensity of 0.1200 a.u. At a temperature of 5500C, the wavelength has 428 nm and absorbance intensity of 0.1261 a.u and at the temperature of 6000C, the wavelength has 435 nm and absorbance intensity of 0.1243 a.u. The greater the wavelength and temperature has the smaller the absorbance value is obtained.

Abstract

Terminalia catappa leaves waste is a biomass waste that can be found around campus of Riau University. After carbonization at various time at temperature of 300 ˚C, biocharcoal of Terminalia catappa leaves waste was used for the adsorption of methylene blue from aqueous solution. Parameters of contact time and concentration of the adsorbate were varied in order to determine the adsorption capacity. Water and ash content of biocharcoal of Terminalia catappa leaves waste were also identified. The results showed that the adsorption methylene blue each of biocharcoal was 4,3478; 6,0024 and 5,1281 mg/g at the carbonization time 30, 60 and 120 minutes respectively, with the initial concentration of 40 ppm and the adsorption time is 15 minutes. Water content of biocharcoal of Terminalia catappa leaves with carbonization time of 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 120 minutes was 2,74%; 2,84% and 1 ,67% respectively, while the ash content was 14%; 13% and 15% respectively.

Abstract

This article discusses Winter’s smoothing and ARMA(p, q) model through numerical computation. Both of these models are used to predict the availability of rice stocks at National Logistics Agency or BULOG in Pekanbaru City by considering the seasonal factor from time series span data. Then a comparison iscarried out for both forecasting models to select the right forecasting model using minimum mean square error.
