Abstract

This article discusses the Diophantine equations in the form x 2 + axy + by 2 = c. The values of a, b, and c are constructed by Fibonacci number Fn and Lucas number L n. Furthermore, all integer solutions of the Diophantine equations in the form of Fibonacci number and Lucas number is determined by using Fibonacci and Lucas identities.

Abstract

For every function ݂: ℝ → ℝ, with f(x  2)  f(x 1)  f(x), for ݔ ∈ ℝ is called the Fibonacci function. In this article, we discuss the properties of a Fibonacci function on Fibonacci Numbers. Among them is the multiplication of an odd function or an even function with a Fibonacci function, also produces a Fibonacci function. If the Fibonacci function f convergens, it convergens to a number 2 1  5 called golden ratio. This implies that limit of a Fibonacci function exists.

Abstract

We discuss an improvement of metho d prop osed by Ham, Y. [Applied Mathematics and Computational. 222: 477–486. 2008]. Analytically we show that by adding some conditions on the weight functions, the prop osed metho d is of order five or six. Numerical comparison shows that the prop osed iterative metho ds with different weight functions do not have significant differences in terms of the number of iteration in obtaining the root.

Abstract

This article discusses how to obtain the Taylor polynomial solution of a higher order linear differential and difference equation with variable coefficients whose initial conditions are known. The process begins by assuming the solution of a higher order linear differential and difference equation in the form of polynomial Taylor. Then it is followed by presenting this equation and its initial conditions in the form of a matrix. This matrix is changed into an augmented matrix. Taylor polynomialsolutions of a higher order linear differential and difference equations is obtained by solving the augmented matrix using elementary row operations.

Abstract

The performance of activated carbon monoliths from rubber wood has been enhanced by modifying the surface through the addition of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) bydip coating method with immersion 30 minutes. The sample activated by combination of physical-chemical activation were named as E F and Carbon sample that had been grown nanoparticle ZnO were name as EK F. The physical properties, density crystalline, surface morphology and content element of the sample have been tested and analyzed. Density of E F was obtained 0,379 g.cm-3 and density value for sample EK F was obtained 0,390 g.cm-3. The measurement of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) showed the nanoparticle ZnO, and measurement of Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX) determines the atomic percentage of the element zinc, i.e 5,80%. Measurement of X-Ray Diffraction(XRD) showed the peaks of composite carbon electrode occurred at 2θ of 22,880 and 44,480 due to presence of carbon structure with their crystal orientation of (002) and (001). Electrochemical properties for carbon electrode cell and composite electrode carbon with the addition zinc oxide (ZnO) were analyzed using cyclic voltammetry. For carbon electrode without nanoparticle ZnO has specific capacitance of 53,90 F.g-1 and the specific capacitance for composite carbon electrode with immersing 30 minutes is 63,53 F.g-1. The result of the overall study showed that the modification carbon electrode with addition ofnanoparticle ZnO increased the values of specific capacitance electrode carbon for supercapacitor applications.

Abstract

The writer has done a research on the model of rate pattern of liquid fluid flow by using flow model that has different pattern. The Equation of continuity was used to solve flow rate case, while Equation of Laplace two dimensions was used for numerical case by finite difference methods by using MATLAB R2009b (version 7.9.0.529). The purpose of fluid research was making flow pattern then analyzing fluid flow to each point in dimensions on Equation of Laplace. The methodology used in this research was evaluating Equation of Laplace concept, identifying the problems, two dimensions of Laplace equation used, completing the numerics by using finite difference methods, and completing analitics for simple cases. The results showed that there was no significant between analytical and computation of fluid flow rate. It can be seen the average of error value is close to zero and the highest error value is 0,000,778 % . Even in various geometry problems, the flow pattern can is be also visualized.

Abstract

Fabry-perot filter was successfully developed by a uniform Fiber Bragg Grating in fiber optic. A characterization of Bragg Grating was analyzed by using computational model with second-order of Transfer Matrix Method based on Coupled Mode Theory. The reflectivity, length of grating, and bandwidth were parametrics to determine the performance of single Bragg Grating. The transmission spectrum showed the longer grating is designed, the larger the reflectivity was produced, so that the transmission band was more narrow. The simulation carried out by varying the separation distance between two gratings was alsoevaluated by dual Bragg Grating. The separation distances from 0.5 cm to 9.5 cm with 1 cm length step. The simulation result showed the maximum peak value generated in the transmission spectrum increased directly proportional to the distance between the gratings. Thus, the grating can be applied as a filter.  Only selected wavelength is allowed to transmit the signal until the end of the optical fiber.

Abstract

The use of conductors and insulators as household supplies industrial materials is increasing now a days. In this study, it carried out the design and testing tools todetermine the conductivity of Zinc plate, multiroof and asbestos. The method is heat transfer conduction by using an electric circuit of source direct current (DC). The result shows the largest conductivity values contained in the Zinc plate is 0.482 W / m°C and the lowest value is multiroof conductivity of 0.132 W / m°C.

Abstract

Heating System of Solar Energy by using Parabolic Trough Collector of East West Position has been experimentally conducted. The collector is set at open air from the sun radiation and observed every 60 minutes from 9 AM until 3 PM for bright sunshine. After 14 days, the results show that the collector temperature has a minimum average of collector 40,290C and water tank 36,070C at 10 AM, whereas the highest average temperature is 51,260C and water tank 45,570C at 1 PM. The observation describes the highest temperature at collector tank occurs at 1 PM due to the highest radiation intesity to the collector reaching maximum value of 448 W/m2. Loss heat by conduction at lowest rate is 23,50 J/s at 10 AM whereas loss heat by conduction at highest rate 36,60 J/s at 1 PM. The average water volume is 39 liters for 6 hours daily from 9 AM until 3 PM. Overall, the higher radiation intensity from the sun to heat the collector, the higher water temperature observed in the collector tank.

Abstract

Optical switch represents good technology components used in many application especially in communication. Optical switch is different from conventional one having many advantageous. Single mode fiber optics is used as a waveguide for propagating the power of Laser Source and detected by power meter. The design is started by connecting single mode fiber optics to the source and detector. The voltage source is measured  corresponding to power meter detector. The result shows that the lowest output power is detected from the paraffin of -39,28 dBm and fiber the output power is -12,67 dBm. The maximum input voltage is 3200 Volt and output voltage is 1061 Volt for optical fiber and the lowest electric field obtained is 223,2 x 10−11A/m2. The current density is 223,2 x 10−11 A/m2  for paraffin with 500 μm in diameter. The output voltage for paraffin 1032 Volt, the electric field of 412,8 x 104 V/m and current densityis 412,8 x 10−11 A with 250 μm in diameter.
