Abstract

Nowadays, a cellular telephone is predicted to generate the effect of electromagnetic radiation on the users. In this research, the measurement of magnetic induction generated by three cellular telephones (sample A, B and C) was demostrated. The measurement was performed in two directions namely horizontal and vertical directions. In order to measure the magnetic induction, was used a Pasco magnetic probe 2162. The magnetic induction in the horizontal direction was measured with the distance of 0,5 cm from the cellular telephone. The effect of a slab of iron with various thicknesses namely 1-4 mm on magnetic induction was also studied. The results of this research showed that the value of magnetic induction generated by the cellular telephone sample A is the highest among brand B and C with the value of 7.73300x10-4 Tesla and followed by sample B and C with the value of 3.6241x10-4 Tesla and 1.41615x10-4 Tesla respectively. The value of magnetic induction in vertical direction decreases very significantly with the distance. Moreover, the magnetic induction increases when a slab of iron with the thickness of 1 mm to 4 mm was introduced.

Abstract

This article discusses the extension of the pro duct integration rules which is a modification of the generalized Euler-Maclaurin summation formula using a partition of the trap ezoidal metho d. Analytically, it is showed that this metho d has an error of O(1/n 2). Furthermore, computational results show that the method is superior to the comparison methods by looking into the error value obtained.

Abstract

This article discusses three estimators for estimating population variance in simple random sampling i.e. ratio estimator, dual ratio estimator and ratio cum dual estimator which is a review of the article of Yadav and Kadilar [Journal of Reliability and Statistical Studies, 6 (2013): 29-34]. These there estimators are all biased, and MSE (mean square error) of each estimator can be obtained. Furthermore, these MSE are compared to each other. An example is given to show the efficiencies of estimators.

Abstract

This article discusses annual premium of contingent insurance using De Moivre law. Contingent insurance is those where the payment cash compensation is based on the sequence of death. Contingent insurance also uses compound contingent functions affected by the order of probability delay of death. In this article, we discusses only for two cases. Annual premium calculation contingent insurance is obtained by prior determining the single premium and the annuity based on De Moivre law.

Abstract

A study has been done on Solar Energy Conversion Into Electrical Energy Using Silicon Diode 6A10 MIC in order to determine electrical energy of diode by varying number of diode that used with and without convex lens. This study used an experimental method that comparing the energy generated from the series and paralel diodes circuits with and without lens, then measuring the intensity of the sunshine by using a simple pylheliometer. Current, voltage, and temperature measurements were performed every 20 minutes from 10:00 to 13:00 during 7 days of observation. In the series and parallel circuits using convex lens produced higher energy than those without convex lens, because of more intensity of solar energy absorbed for the circuit with convex lens. The highest energy obtained from the circuit with convex lens were produced by the series circuits of 10 diodes, with was 30,31x10-2 Joule at 13.00 pm, whereas the highest energy for the circuits without the lens was 14.42 w-2 Joule.

Abstract

The estimators studied here are three ratio estimators for population variance in simple random sampling without replacement using sampling fraction. This study is a review of article written by Tailor and Sharma [Statistics in Transition-new series 13 (2012): 37-46]. All estimators are biased, then their mean square error (MSE) of the studied estimators are compared to obtain the most efficient estimator. An example is given to explain the studied problem.

Abstract

This paper discusses premium reserve endowment life insurance for years. The reserve is calculated by the method of full preliminary term based on net annual premium, with the first net annual premium and the second net annual premium . Net annual premium is affected by amount of single premium and annuity due. De Moivre law is applied to calculate the reserve.

Abstract

This article discusses the calculation of the loading annual gross premium with De Moivre’s law at term life insurance. In insurance the loading is obtained by substracting net premium from gross premium. Loading is affected by a singlepremium, present value of annuity, annual premium payment with k times a year using the De Moivre’s law.

Abstract

A research has been conducted on Determining Moisture Content of Cassava by Using Parallel Plate Capacitor . This experiment was carried out by perforning two methods: gravimetric and parallel plate capacitor. Methods gravimetric method was carried out to determine the water content as a standard while parallel plate capacitor while the method was performed to measure current so that water content of the sample can be determined. The samples were consisted of two types; white cassava and red cassava, 10 cm long, 5 cm wide and 0,5 cm thick. The measurement results showed that the water content of cassava whites ranged from 48,8% to 56% and cassava red ranged from 55,1% to 57,5%. The greater the water content, the greater the current.

Abstract

"> Air pollution is one of environmental contaminations occurred by various factors, outside and inside the room. Based on NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health), the safe level of Carbondioxide for humans is less than 1000 ppm. In this study one sample component is developed that can measure and monitor the levels of Carbondioxide, and a moisture level inside the room by online service. this uses a Carbondioxide meter and SHT11 sensor-based microcontroller ATmega8535. The development of Carbondioxide consists of two stages of process, namely, a design and construction of the air quality monitoring systems, and data acquisition. There are four scenarios for collecting data smoky weather, rain weather, measurements of carbon dioxide levels in the room with variations of ventilation and variations in the number of occupants in the room. The research sucsesfully designs the component. It can be seen from the amount of Carbondioxide stage and humidity levels. The amount of Carbondioxide concentration on the smoke state the maximum is 621 ppm while the minimum value is 426 ppm. For intersection of accupant and ventilation variable, the maximum and minimum Carbondioxide is 1535 ppm and 467 ppm respectively. The moisture measurement scenario with SHT11 sensor for smoky weather has maximum value at 83.9%, the moisture with a minimum is at 71.0%, on the rain weather maximum value obtained at 85.8% and 77.3% for minimum. While the occupant’s variation and variation of ventilation obtained maximum humidity value at 82.7% with a minimum value at 68.7%.
