Abstract

The research aimed to improve the growth, production of sawi and get better dose. The research carried out in the Technical Services Unit Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from January to February 2014 and conducted experiments used Randomized Block Design (RBD) is P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 (without organic fertilizer, green manure Calopogonium muccunoides 20 ton / ha (3 kg / plot), chicken manure 20 ton / ha (3 kg / plot), green manure  Calopogonium muccunoides 10 ton / ha + ½ urea recommended and chicken manure 10 ton / ha + ½ urea recommended). The parameters measured were plant height, leaf area, leaf number, fresh weight and fresh weight for consumption. The data were analyzed used analysis of variance and continued DNMRT at 5% level. The result showed that 1,5 kg chicken manure + ½ urea recommended and green manure Calopogonium muccunoides 1,5 kg + ½ urea recommended better dose for the growth and production of sawi.   Keywords: urea fertilizer, organic fertilizer, sawi

Abstract

Plant growth regulator such as gibberellins () is considered as a crucial part in soybean cultural practices; however, the information on its beneficial has been limited. So, this experiment  was intended to look at the impact of on soybean growth and yield components and the response of different varieties on . A field experiment was arranged in a split plot design, in which three levels of concentration as main plot and three cultivars as sub plot. Gibberellins applied were 125 ppm, 250 ppm, and control. The cultivars used were Kaba, Wilis, and Anjasmoro. Seed of soybean cultivars was planted in a plot of 3.2 m by 3 m with planting space 40 cm by 15 cm. At 21 days after planting, was sprayed to the plants according to treatments in which spraying rate of 384 ml every plot. Parameters observed were crop growth rate, internodes length, days to flowering, filled pod numbers per plant, seed numbers per plant, grain yield per m2, harvest index, and 100-seed weight. The results showed that application of gibberellin significantly lengthened main stem internodes,  increased grain yield but decreased  plant growth rate, and 100-seed weight. This results indicate that  application of should be used carefully in soybean cultural practice. Keywords: gibberellin, soybean varieties, growth rate, grain yield, harvest index

Abstract

The research aimed to study the application of the combination of compost of palm oil empty fruit bunches (POEFB), boiler ash and liquid waste of palm oil industry to growth and yield of soybean (Glycine max L. Merril) on palm oil plantations in peat land. The research was conducted at the Kualu Nenas Village, Kampar Regency,  Riau Province from January to April 2013. The research used Randomized Block Design consists of nine treatment (A : without treatment/control, B : 1.45 kg compost of POEFB per plot, C : 1.45 kg compost   + 145 g boiler ash per plot, D : 1.45 kg compost + 290 g boiler ash per plot, E : 1.45 kg compost + 435 boiler ash per plot, F : 1.45 kg compost + 8,64 ml liquid waste per plot, G : 1.45 kg compost + 145 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml liquid waste per plot, H : 1.45 kg compost + 290 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml liquid waste per plot and I : 1.45 kg compost + 435 g boiler ash + 8,64 ml liquid waste per plot) each treatment repeated three times. Parameters observed were plant height, number of primary branches, age flowering, number of pods, percentage of pithy pods and weight of dry seed per plot. The research shows that application of 1.45 kg empty fruit compost of POEFB + 145 to 435 g boiler ash + 8.64 ml liquid waste per plot can increase plant height, number of pods and weight of dry seed per plot significantly compared with control, but not significantly compared with the another treatments. Abstract

Rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is one of the strategic agricultural commodities for the economy in Indonesia, both in increasing revenue planters, providing jobs for residents, preserve the environment and also as a source of foreign exchange. The use of the subsoil is expected to produce good growth of rubber seedlings which when mixed application of organic fertilizers. Through the use of organic fertilizers is expected to increase the holding power of water, nutrients and repair donated soil aggregates. This study experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replicates so entirely as many as 25 experimental units. Each unit consists of 2 plants as well as a sample, so that the overall number of 50 plants. Data obtained from the results of the study were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by test Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) at the 5% level. Parameters measured were seedling height increment (cm), stem diameter increment (cm), in the number of leaves (strands), root length (cm), root volume (ml), seedling dry weight (g) and the ratio of the root crown. The mixture of subsoil with organic fertilizer oil palm empty fruit bunches of the best shows on rubber seedlings (Hevea brasiliensis). Keywords: Rubber, Organic Fertilizer, media on grafting subsoil

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of compost TKKS combined with green manure and the addition of P fertilizer on the growth and production of sorghum and get the best dose. Research conducted experimentally using factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors (a combination of compost and manure P) and 3 replications. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA using Duncan's test New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) mean separation 5%. The results showed that treatment with compost fertilizer P had not significantly effect on plant height, stem diameter, leaf length, panicle stalk length, number of branches per panicle, seed weight per panicle, production per plot, 100 seeds weight but significantly affect on flowering. Organic fertilizer at 266.67 kg/ha in combination TKKS 50% + 50% LCC and fertilizer P 86.67 kg/ha SP-36 gave the best effect to the acquisition results in the production of seed weight per plot was 2092.9 g / plot, higher compared to 100% + 0% TKKS compost and fertilizer P LCC 31.21 kg / ha SP 36.   Keywords: Compost TKKS, green manure, fertilizer P and Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.)

Abstract

Tomatoes as one of vegetables has a bright prospect. Low productivity of tomato caused by low soil fertility, pests and diseases. This study aims to determine the growth and yield of tomato plants with multiple strains Intan and Karina in the lowlands. This study using a completely randomized block design (CRBD) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications, so there are 18 experimental units. The treatments were: genotype IPB T60-2-6, IPB T64-2-2(1), IPB T3- 8-, IPB T53-3-3, Intan variety and Karina. The genotypes treatments were significantly affect the days to flowering, harvesting time, plant height, stem diameter, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruit cavities, fruit flesh thickness, number of seeds per gram, weight per fruit, and total weight per plant. Genotype T3-8-10 has growth and  high yields compared of genotype IPB T64-2-2(1), IPB T60-2-6, IPB T53-3-3, Intan variety and Karina.   Keywords : Lycopersicum esculentum, lowlands, genotypes

Abstract

The research was carry out at the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau. The aim of this research to determine the effect grant of dolomite and N, P, K fertilizers interactions on sweet corn in peat land and get the best treatment. This research was carried out using a Randomized Design Group (RDG) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor use of the dolomite and the second factor is N, P, K treatment. The data were proceed with analysis of variance and Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at 5% level. Parameters measured are plant height, stamen appears time, stigma appears time, harvest time, cob diameter, cob length without hust, cob weight without hust/sample. The result of research shown that giving of Dolomite and N, P, K fertilizers can increase growth and production on sweet corn applications of          4 ton/ha dolomite and N, P, K fertilizers (300 kg/ha Urea + 200 kg/ha SP-36        + 100 kg/ha KCl) give the best effect for cob weight without husk/sample productions on sweet corn in peat land.   Keywords : Sweet corn, peat land, dolomite, N, P, K fertilizer.

Abstract

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is a commodity that produces vegetable oils are important in beside coconut, nuts and corn. Palm oil plantations in Riau province ranks first in comparison to other plantations such as palm, rubber and cocoa. According to the Stastik Central Bureau in 2011 vast palm oil plantations of Riau reached 2,256,538 ha. Most of the plant is less productive because of age and need rejuvenation. Nurseries is one aspect of agronomy that was instrumental in the early stages of crop management to be cultivated. Planting medium used in palm oil nurseries is topsoil with a thickness of 10-20 cm from the ground. Alternative medium that can be used is marginal soils such as sand. Sand can be used for the planting medium with the addition of organic fertilizer and Arbuskular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF). Mycorrhizae is a form of mutualitik symbiotic relationship between fungi with plant roots, fungi or plants both equally benefit from this association. The research with experiment by methods completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 6 times to obtain 18 experimental units, each unit comprising 2 plant experiments. There treatment is giving of AMF : C0 = Giving AMF with a dose of 0 g/polybag, C1 = Giving AMF with a dose of 10 g/polybag, C2 = Giving AMF with a dose of 20 g/polybag. The results of this study showed that giving of Arbuskular Mycorrhizae Fungi in planting medium is not a real effect on seedling height, leaf length, number of leaves, fresh weight, ratio of dry weight of roots and canopy of palm seedlings. The best treatment was obtained by administration of AMF 10 g/polybags in the nursery medium.   Keywords: Pre Nurseries, Arbuskular Mycorrhizae Fungi (AMF), Palm Oil Seed, Growth and Development.

Abstract

Tofu waste compost and cow urine is a type of organic fertilizer which can improve the availability of nutrients for plant growth. This research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau began in October 2013 - January 2014 with the aim of knowing the effect of tofu waste compost with cow urine on the growth of seedlings of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in the Pre-Nursery. This research was conducted by the method of completely randomized design (CRD) non-factorial consisting of 12 treatments and 3 replications is follows: KU1 = 10 g of tofu waste compost with 10% of cow urine/polybag, KU2 = 10 g of tofu waste compost with 20% cow urine/polybag, KU3 = 10 g of tofu waste compost with 30% of cow urine/polybag, Ku4 = 10 g of tofu waste compost with 40% of cow urine/polybag, KU5 = 15 g of tofu waste compost with 10% of cow urine/polybag, KU6 = 15 g of tofu waste compost with 20% of cow urine/polybag, KU7 = 15 g of tofu waste compost with 30% of cow urine/polybag, KU8 = 15 g of tofu waste compost with 40% of cow urine/polybag, KU9 = 20 g tofu waste compost with 10% of cow urine/polybag, KU10 = 20 g of tofu waste compost with 20% of cow urine/polybag, KU11 = 20 g of tofu waste compost with 30% of cow urine/polybag, KU12 = 20 g of tofu waste compost with 40% cow urine/polybag. The study consisted of 36 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 2 seeds, thus the total number of palm oil seedlings were 72 rods. The data were statistically analyzed and followed by test Ducan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Parameters measured were seedling height (cm), number of leaves (strands), the diameter of the stem weevil (mm), primary root length (cm), secondary root length (cm), root volume (ml) and oil palm seedling dry weight (g ). The results showed that administration of tofu waste compost with cow urine can increase the growth of  palm oil seedlings in the Pre-Nursery. Keywords: palm oil, tofu waste compost and cow urine.

Abstract

Orchids are very popular ornamental plant because it has a diverse kind. The flowers are used for various purposes. One way to increase the growth of Dendrobium orchid by using a mixture of planting media and fertilizer through the leaves, because the fertilizer is already contained nutrients needed by plants orchid. The study aimed to obtain the composition of planting medium with a good concentration of liquid fertilizer for the growth of Dendrobium orchid (Dendrobium sp.) and conducted experimentally at Gerai Tanaman Hias Intan Bertuah in Jl. Arifin Ahmad, Pekanbaru, Riau by using Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) consist of 9 treatment (media fern, wood charcoal, coconut husk, broken bricks with Growmore concentrations of 0.5, 1. 5 and 2.5 g/liter of water) with 3 replications. Each experimental unit contained 3 plants and 81 population. The parameters measured were the number of shoots, plant height, stem diameter, leaf length and leaf number. The results showed that treatment with the composition of planting media with concentration of Growmore fertilizer had not significant effect on all parameters was observed that the number of shoots, plant height, stem diameter, leaf length and number of leaves, whereas treatment ferns planting media composition, wood charcoal, coconut fiber with Growmore 1.5 g/liter of water gives the best results for the parameters of the number of shoots, plant height and number of leaves on the growth of Dendrobium orchids (Dendrobium sp.).
