Abstract

AbstractThis research was to evaluate quality of smoke fish prepared from fish of different chemical composition. Two group of smoke fish were respectively prepared from Mystus catfish compositing high protein-low fat (protein 16.13 %, fat 10.69 %, A) and low protein-high fat (protein 14.75 %, fat 12.42 %, B). which were obtained from harvested fish of previous feeding trial. Both groups of fish were respectively fillet and cut into butterfly like cut and smoked in smoking kiln for 4 hour. The smoke fish were evaluated for smoking yield, sensory quality and proximate composition. The result indicate that there was no difference in smoking yield and sensory quality between smoking yield prepared from fish A and B, except appearance which was higher in smoking fish prepared from fish B. protein composition was higher to smoking fish prepared from fish A, however fat and moisture were higher in smoking fish prepared from fish B.Keywords : Smoke fish, Mystus catfish (Mystus nemurus), Smoking yield, sensory quality, Proximate composition, Protein, Fat

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was aimed to determine the effect of different ways of chitosan coatingon the quality of smoked catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) during room temperaturestorage. The method used in this research was experimental method, with coating of chitosanin different ways to smoked catfish; without treatment (K0), spraying with 2% of chitosanconcentration (K1), and brushing with 2% of chitosan concentration (K2). Smoked catfish wasobserved to organoleptic test appearance, odor, flavor, texture; moisture content, proteincontent, fat content, peroxide value; identification of fungi and bacteria Staphylococcusaureus. The results showed that smoked catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) was coated withbrushing 2% of chitosan concentration could slowdown the deterioration smoked catfishquality during room temperature storage, with organoleptic value of appearance, odor, flavor,and texture was 6.78, 6.74, 6.72 and 6.84 respectively. Proximate value, also could slowdownthe deterioration in protein content (34.44% to 29.97%) and fat content (31.60% to 24.39%).Its could inhibit the increasing of moisture content (10.09% to 15.37%) and peroxide value(0.00mg ek/1000g to 7.38mg ek/1000g); the fungus Aspergillus sp and Staphylococcusaureus were not found during room temperature storage.Keywords: smoked catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus), chitosan liquid, storage.

Abstract

AbstractProbiotic bacteria capable of producing substances like antibiotic sandin dispensable for being able to suppressthe growth of pathogenic bacteria into disease and parasites in aquaculture. The research purposeof this study to find probiotic isolates were able to controlthe disease in aquaculture. The candidate probiotic bacteria isolated from prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii, de Man) by the method of scratch on TSA and NA media. Anti-bacterial activity using media discs on Zobell and TSA. 4 isolates were found which consisted of coccus, white and orange colonies. All isolates had inhibitory effect onthe growth of pathogenic bacteria. The highest sensitivitytest is indicated by P4 DUG isolates of A.hydrophilla at13,30, 13,20 and14,10 of P.stutzeri in V.alginolyticusKeyword : Probiotic, Effectiveness, Tiger Prawn.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThese Research about business analysis fish mas at pool of water pouring down , which was held in August 2014 in the village Balai Gadang district Koto Tangah Padang City West Sumatra Province. The objective analyzes the cost of investment that required pool of water pouring down, the income to pool of water pouring down and fit into pool of water pouring down in the village held Big if observed from the criteria for investment. The method is used methods case studies are limited to the population, place, and a certain period of time in the field with respondents are pembudidaya fish mas pool of water pouring down that are in the village held Big namely%1 who has 12 units pool of water pouring down and 2 workers.Results of these studies indicate that the investment into fish mas pool of water pouring down of Rp1,010,619,000. Business investment Criteria fish mas pool of water pouring down an NPV of Rp 836,783,477,- BCR of 1.18 IRR of 43.75 percent and Government Regulation of 1.25.Key words: pool of water pouring down, proper business, Investment

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted in July 2014 on Melai village West Rangsang District Kepulauan Meranti Riau Province. The location was deliberately determined ( purposive ). The method used in this study is survey method, the type of data, obtained directly from the first responden, the secondary data of additional data such as geographic location, demographic total population, total population besed on gender. The purpose of this research was to determine the fisherman’s wife perception to manage time for providing incomes activity.The fisherman’s wife characteristic in Melai Village consist of 7 persons (43.75% ) at 32 – 37 years old, thas have graduated primary school. Fisherman’s wife in Melai Village dominated as a farmer about 10 persons (62.50 %) . Fisherman’s wife perception to manage tie for providng income activity that lacated in agree rate was 6 person with the score about 1306- 1680. While spending time for activities that not able to generate revenue at agree category and spending daily time at disagree category.

Abstract

ABSTRAKThis studyaims to determinethe increase inhousehold incomeoffishermanthroughfisherman's wife participation to support husband earn a living,sowifecould contribute tohouseholdandreduce economic responsibilities. Thisresearchused survey method is the method through purposive samplingas manyas20fisherman’s wives.The result shows that the fisherman's wife has a significant role insupporting the household economy. Wife's role in support household economicmake wife doing a double role in the household. Fisherman's wife contributethrough such kind of job: rubber tappers, processing of fishery products,fishmonger, daily traders and seamstress. The wife’s contribution was work asrubber tappers, so the conclution was that alternative activities can be developedthrough UMKM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises).Keywords : Fisherman wife, houshold income, contribution.

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted in October 2014 held at Panipahan District ofPasir Limau Kapas Rokan Hilir Riau Province, the method used in this study is asurvey method. The data collected is secondary data. Respondents in this study is thesalted fish processing business operators in Bangliau in Panipahan. Intake ofinformants is done by purposive sampling that intentionally with predeterminedcriteria, then the respondent is to support and strengthen the secondary data drawnfrom relevant agenciesThis study aims to determine the total investment, income and feasibility ofsalted fish processing business in Big Bangliau, Bangliau Medium and SmallBangliau in Panipahan District of Pasir Limau Kapas Rokan Hilir Riau Province.Based on the results, the average anchovies are processed in each of his Bangliauevery month that the Big Bangliau 5000 kg, 2300 kg Bangliau Medium and SmallBangliau 550 kg. The total investment in each Bangliau is Big BangliauRp.263.052.500, Medium Bangliau Rp.157.057.500 and Small BangliauRp.47.430.500. Net income each Bangliau is Bangliau Big Rp.55.425.000, BangliauMedium USD 20.282.5000 and Small Bangliau Rp.3.469.500 per month. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted on may 24th to July 24st 2014 at Balai Budidaya Laut Batam. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of stocking density on growth and survival fish silver pompano (Trachinotus blochii, Lacepede) reared in floating net cages. The research method used was experimental method and Complete Random Device (CRD) with three treatments and three replications. The treatments in this study were stocking density silver pompano 40 fishes/m3, 60 fishes/m3, and 80 fishes/m3. To know fish development, body weight and total length was measured every 1 week. The result of the observation showed that the stocking density 60 fishes/m3 the best stocking density in this study which provides absolute growth weights 56,20 gram, total growth length (7,13 cm), specific growth rate (3,28%) and survival rate (99,26%).Keywords : Stocking density, Growth, Survival, Floating net cages, Silver pompano

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted in September 2014 in the island of Sironjong Gadang, Koto XI Tarusan, Pesisir Selatan Disctrict of West Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of depth towards the density of zooxanthella on the type of coral Acropora sp in Seronjong Gadang Island. While the benefits of the research are expected to obtain data and information about the density of zooxanthella on Acropora sp at the different depths. The methodology used in this research was a survey method and for coral sampling used purposive sampling technique, where samples are taken around the Seronjong Gadang Island with 3 different depth according to distribution of Acropora sp Coral reef that surround these waters. Parameter measurements of waters performed at each station. Samples were taken in the field, then followed by analyzing samples in the Laboratory.Depth is one of factor that affect the amount of light intensity that enters into the waters. The light that comes into the waters was symbion zooxanthella needed to perform fotosentesis in his life as the main supplier for coral as host. The deeper the waters, the less light that come into the waters. According to the research, there is the difference between the depth of 1 m, 5 ms and 10ms. The average of Zooxanthella cell in the depth of 1 m are 5.150.125 cell/cm2, then in the depth of 5 m are 3.552.525 cell/cm2, and in the depth of 10 m the average of zooxanthella are 3.242.241 cell/cm2. It means that the amount of Zooxnthella on Acropora sp decreased over by the increase of the depth.Keywords: Coral, Acropora sp, zooxanthella, Sironjong Gadang.

AbstractByRabiatul Adawiyah 1), Dessy Yosswaty dan Efriyeldi 2)The research was conducted on the Moon from October-November 2014 of Poncan Island Tower Sibolga in North Sumatra Province. Order to determine the potential for marine ecotourism of Poncan Island Tower to serve as a marine tourism area. The method used in this study is a survey method, ie by observing, collecting data and samples directly into the field and collect the necessary data qualitatively and quantitatively. Data were taken and observed consist of primary data and secondary data. The results showed that the potential of the object and appeal Poncan Island ecologically Tower is yellowish white sand with crystal clear waters and coral reefs which have magnificent beauty, as well as activities that can be done such as: fishing, snorkeling and enjoy activities such as driving around the island . The calculation of the potential economic value obtained is Rp. 16.614.713.500 billion. This suggests that the Pulai Poncan Tower decent and has a fascination for visitors to come.Keywords: Marine Ecotourism, Development, Poncan Island Tower
