Abstract

Talaromyces sp. is a spore-forming fungi and has been identified as spoilage in fruit-based medium such as pineapple and tomato. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of temperature on the thermal inactivation of Talaromyces sp. spores of 60 days in pineapple juice and determine D-value and z-value in the process of Talaromyces sp. in pineapple juice. It was shown that higher temperature resulted in the decreasing of time needed to inactivate the spores. The D-value obtained at temperatures of 80, 85, 90 °C were 67.11, 25.33, and 4.80 minutes. The following z-values were also obtained were 8,7 °C for 60 days age. The result of this study indicate the importance of temperature for the heat resistance of two-month old Talaromyces sp. spores in pineapple juice.Keywords: inactivation, pineapple, resistance, spore, talaromyces sp.

Abstract

All human activities human will produce a residual in a form of solid called solid waste. UIN SUSKA Riau campus is a one of university in Pekanbaru with all of its activities is not hampered from solid waste production and problems coming from it, the solid waste accumulation for long days is some of problem coming out from the lack of intergrated solid waste management. This study aims to determine the waste generation and composition at UIN SUSKA Riau campus and planned waste management system that includes storage, collection, transportation in UIN SUSKA Riau campus. This study begins with the generation and waste composition studies conducted in 3 faculty, 3 offices, and 4 supporting fasilities. The study results showed the composition and in 2019 the daily waste generation of 556,28 kg/day in mass unit and 5.785 l/day in volume unit with generation is anorganic waste by 26,47% % and organic waste by 73,53%. Waste management planning in UIN SUSKA Riau campus include sorting unit with storage needs of 10 l bin for organic waste as much as 247 units and as many as 90 units of anorganic waste, bin capacity of 30 l to 139 units as much organic waste and anorganic waste as much as 50 units, bin capacity 60 l for organic waste as much as 41 units and 16 units of anorganic waste. Collection system in the form of segregated polling stations with a capacity of 1 m3. A transport fleet capacity of 4 m3 pick up 1 units.Keywords: generation and waste composition, waste management systems.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse the behavior of single piles under axial compressive load, as far as settlement, load transfer mechanism, and static loading test are concerned. It includes a literary review of two elastic theory-based methods, the Poulos and Davis method and the Randolph and Wroth method, as well as axisymmetric elastic modelling using the finite element-based program Optum G2. The result given by each method are organized in dimensionless charts of settlement and proportion of load transferred to the pile base in terms of the pile slenderness ratio and soil inhomogeneity and the load in terms of the pile settlement and compared amongst each other. This reseacrh also studies axisymmetric elastoplastic modelling in Optum G2, considering the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion. The case study of the simulation static load test performed on test pile. The soil parameters are got of some project in Riau Province. Abstract

Geopolymers are environmental friendly construction materials derived from industrial wastes such as fly ash. The use of geopolymers can reduce the use of cement, therefore reducing world carbon emissions. Polymeric bonding in geopolymer fly ash can be activated using alkaline solutions namely Sodium silicate and Sodium hydroxide (NaOH). This study used fly ash from Padang, West Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the use of fly ash and Sodium hydroxide on the compressive strength of geopolymer mortar. The research method began with the test of the characteristics of fly ash and fine aggregate. Then the fly ash was added to the cement paste with the various concentrations of 8M, 10M, 12M, 14M and 16M NaOH. The size of mold used was the cube of 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm. The compressive strength test of mortar was carried out on 7, 14, 28 days of mortar age. The results of this study indicated that the fly ash reacted with NaOH and the compressive strength of mortar geopolymer was influenced by NaOH concentration. The compressive strength of mortar geopolymer showed an increase on specimens that contained 8M, 10M and 12M NaOH. For example, for the use of specimen with 12M NaOH, there was an increased of compressive strength of 16,7% compared to that of specimen with 8M NaOH. On other hand, the compressive strength of specimen containing 14M NaOH and 16M NaOH decreased by 19,6% and 73,21% respectively, compared to that of specimen containing 12M NaOH. The conclusion of this study was the optimum compressive strength occurred on specimens that contained 12M NaOH by 11,2 MPa.Keywords: compressive strength, fly ash, geopolymer, mortar, NaOH concentration

Abstract

Breakdown voltage is a phenomenon when the voltage is constantly raised in isolation, the atoms will be ionized and to limit the ability of the insulation to withstand the voltage then the insulator will be the conductor. This critical moment is called breakdown. Voltage breakdown testing is required to determine the critical point of the insulating oil, in other words to determine the boundaries of oil withstand voltage exposure. The purpose of this research is to know the dielectric strength of the transformer oil power with temperature changes in the oil, temperature is known based on the temperature of the peak loads, the load average and the lowest load on the transformer that is in the electrical center of the Kota Panjang, the temperature of the oil to be tested is 50°C, 65°C dan 82°C, testing is done using high voltage AC, using the hemispherical electrode, gap 2,5 mm. Tests done 3 times per sample in a single state in the oil temperature. From the test results showed that the dielectric strength of the oil shell diala type b will increase as the temperature rise in transformer oil, and test 80°C in other words, the temperature of the oil is directly proportional to the dielectric strength.Keywords : Insulating temperature, breakdown voltage, dielectric strenght.

Abstract

Crossroad is an intersection of two or more roads that joins or crosses each other and often run into traffic conflicts. The intersection of Cempaka Road – Teratai Road is one of a intersection without traffic signs. Traffic conflicts, such as traffic jams during the peak hour, have happened frequently in this intersection. This study’s objective is to calculate the performance of this intersection based on Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia, MKJI) 1997. The study took three days to finish; Saturday (28/10/2017), Sunday (29/10/2017), until Monday (30/10/2017), with observation hours happening during morning (07.00-09.00 WIB), noon (11.00-14.00 WIB) and afternoon (16.00-19.00 WIB). Based on the conducted surveys and traffic calculation, traffic peak hours happen on Monday from 16.45 to 17.45 WIB with the value of Q = 2984,5 smp/hr, C = 3170 smp/hr, Ds = 0,94, DTI = 12,70 s/smp, DTMA = 9,08 s/smp, DTMI = 19,91 s/smp, DG = 4,02 s/smp, D = 16,72 s/smp, and QP = 36 - 70%.. Due to the calculated Ds having a value higher than the value stated by MKJI which is 0,75, a planning and regulation needs to be done for the intersection of Cempaka Road – Teratai Road. In order to make the value of Ds for this intersection lower than 0,75, a lane (B) prohibiton and a widening of the major lanes from 7,7 m and 7,6 m into 9,7 m and 9,6 m respectively were done and then the Ds value for Cempaka Road – Teratai Road intersection finally reaches the intended target with the value being 0,69.Keywords: Intersection without traffic sings, traffic flow, capasity, degree of saturation

Abstract

Rupat Island is one of the districts in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. Rupat Island area is fairly wide with a large population that has not had a single hospital, but only in the form of puskesmas, and non-inpatient health facilities. For that, the need for health facilities for people in Rupat Island is by providing hospitals. The purpose of this research is to design Class C General Hospital by applying the elements and principles of Healing Environment. The methods used include field data collection, literature study and empirical studies. The application of Healing Environment theme in Class C General Hospital in Rupat Island is considered to be in harmony because Rupat Island still has good environmental quality and the main function of the building as a health facility. General Hospital Design with Healing Environment approach directed more specifically with the use of the concept of Healthy With Nature. The mass concept resulted from the influence of natural environment conditions around the tread that has more potential and is supported by consideration of natural elements such as light, air, and plants. So the design result that makes residents can access and interact with nature directly.Keywords: Rupat Island, Hospital, Healing Environment.

Abstract

This paper proposes feasibility the implementation of heterogeneous networks 5G in sub-district of Pekanbaru Kota. Het-Net is a network topology with technology of cell densification that spreads several levels of cellular communication networks. This topography also requires several of steps,i.e. sychas cells data collection, network plan by the capacity, network mapping based on the network coverage and network mapping by Software (e.g. open signal, google earth and MapInfo). Thees steps are to get voronoi diagramm and find out the point of id-cell and the areas which are not covered by the existing tower. 5G mapping is based on calculations, that resulted 5 new cells 5G tower with 0,419 Km of radius and 9 the cells from the existing tower. Based on the customers prediction, the design has fulfilled on the demand until 2020.Keywords: Heterogen Network, Mapping, Planning Capacity and Planning Coverage

Abstract

Electricity is one of the sources of energy which is a major need in daily life. Appropriate efforts are needed so that the availability of electrical energy used can be maintained availability. Concern for each consumer in this case a large-scale 1-phase PLN customer, will have a broad impact if they make joint savings through a measurable mechanism for the use of electrical energy. Until now, PLN single-phase customers do not yet have facilities to get real-time information on household electrical energy usage. Thus designed an application that can measure, process data, and display the use of electrical energy which is named "AMoEL (Electric Energy Monitoring Application)". AMoEL can measure Current, Voltage, Power, Electric Energy and Rates. In testing the instrument, getting the results of varying measurement accuracy, where the instrument testing sample for 4 days obtained the value of the accuracy of energy (kWH), namely: the first day at 87.13%, the second day at 77.81%, the third day at 77.46 %, and fourth day is 85.25%. Any data that has been successfully sent will be stored and displayed on the webserver, so customers can access information on home electricity usage easily.Keywords: Current Sensor, Voltage Sensor, Cosphi Sensor, Php Website, MySQL Database.

Abstract

Recently Indonesia is one of the countries with a densely populated of population. Besides it, using of vehicles causes traffic jam in many cities, including Pekanbaru. Power outages be one of causers of traffic jam due to many traffic lights do not working properly. In this study, the authors designed a power supply that is able to keep the traffic lights on when electricity from National Electricity Company (PLN) is not active. In this case, there is addition of solar panels so the traffic light can be on for few hours during the supply of PLN is inactive. The used load is a prototype of smart traffic light (STL) 80Watt under PLC control. Battery is used 12V7Ah which filled by Solar Panel. When supply from PLN is off, relay works and the load source automatically switches to Battery. To increase output voltage of Solar Panel, Boost Converter is added to this design to gain 24V. From switching time of PLN to battery take 0,08s, so the traffic lights have no chance to be inactive.
