Abstract

Structure with soft story effect will enlarge the lateral deformation and shear forces in the column so that the destruction of the columns is particularly vulnerable when subjected to thelarge forces. This research aims to analyse the actual structural behaviour affected by the earthquake load. The steel structure was design according to Indonesian Steel Structure Building Code (SNI 1729-2015) and also Indonesian Load Earthquake Resistance Code (SNI 1726-2012). To assess the structural behaviour, the Non-linier Time History Analysis (NLTH) was conducted using finite element software. The earthquake load employed to the structurewas modified Elcentro adjusted to goeology of Pekanbaru. The result showed that in structure with soft story had the maximum displacement of 97,13 mm in Y direction. Moreover, maximumshear forces observed on the structure with soft story mechanism increased by 42.13% and 37.80% on X and Y direction respectively compared to the previous floor without soft storymechanism. The result also showed that soft story mechanism affected to the dynamic responses of the structure.Keywords: soft story, earthquake, structure behaviour, time history analysis

Abstract

Plumbing as a procurement of sanitation facility is a control system of environment impact through piping planning, for supplying clean water and drainage of waste water in a building without causing pollution. The steps of design has consisted of preliminary study in the form of literature studying, collecting and processing data, drawing and determining a budget plan. This study shows that clean water needs is 41.412 liters/day. The diameter of the used pipes are 1 inches, 1¼ inches, 2 inches, 2½ inches, 3 inches, 4 inches. Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) has become a separate of field of research since the development of internet technology and other communication media. Internet of Things allows humans to communicate with all devices connected to the internet network. One of the implementation Internet of Things is chicken feed monitoring. In this research will using Loadcell sensor, NodeMCu as a microcontroller and servo motor as an automatic open and close controller. ESP8266 which is already embedded in NodeMCu as a WI-FI module is used to connecting arduino to the internet. The results obtained from this monitoring is if chicken feed is less than 1kg, the servo will open to fill the chicken feed container. Conversely, if the chicken feed is fully loaded 10kg, the servo will be closed again. Keyword: Android, Internet of Things (IoT), monitoring, automatic, chicken feed.

Abstract

Floods that occurred in City of Pekanbaru hit the region along the river siak one of which subdistrict Rumbai. Impacts of of the flooding detrimental to society from materials or people’s life. One of the solution to minimize impact is to make plan evacuation route and flood shelter mapping of with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The determination of the place of evacuation based on the location of the flood shelter must be located outside of the area of flooding by doing a field survey. The place of evacuation have two criteria, namely in the form of permanent buildings such as public facilities, and building a non permanent tent of the evacuation. Some locations that can be used as evacuation place, namely Al-Jihad Mosque, Al-ikhlas Mosque, MDA Aula Rumbail, Mosque Nurul Haq, M Nurul Mosque, Empty Land and parking areas of the stadium. Plan evacuation route of mapping based analysis of the data by method of algorithm djikstra for result pathways of efficient and effective evacuation. Algorithm djikstra analysis resulting one evacuation routes in the Palas Village and six evacuation routes in the Sri Meranti Village. Evacuation routes in the Palas Village can go to the evacuation place of Al-Jihad Mosque, being in the Sri Meranti Village can go to the evacuation place Al-Ikhlas Mosque, MDA Aula Rumbai, Nurul Haq Mosque, M Nurul Mosque, vacant land and Stadium Parking Area.Keywords : Evacuation route, Algorithm djikstra, SIG, Floodshelter.

Abstract

Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) is a technology based on designed IP as a fast communications service solution. LTE frequency allocation in Indonesia is very limited, so it required reusing or combining options of frequencies will be used. Purpose of this research is to know the comparison of network quality between Carrier Aggregation (CA) and non-Carrier Aggregation (Non-CA). CA is a feature can combine two or more carrier components with a maximum bandwidth 20 MHz. In this research, LTE-A network designed compare performance of frequency by using interband-non-contiguous CA technique and without CA. Frequency bands used are 900 MHz and 1800 MHz. The results of simulation show that CA Technique provide a throughput of 201,925 Mbps compare to 161,382 Mbps for non-CA at 900 MHz and 1800 MHz. The CA also provide the 100% of user connected. Coverage by signal level on CA Method is superior to 98.47% with signal value ≥- 80 dBm, whereas in non-CA technique, it has diverse result because using different propagation model produces different cell radius value. Some above parameters show that design result with CA technique is superior to Non-CA. So based on these parameters can be concluded that CA is suitable to be applied in Indonesia.Keywords: LTE, LTE-A, Carrier Aggregation, Signal Level, Interband Non-Contiguous, Bandwidth.

Abstract

Every oil and gas processing activity will not be separated from the problem of Ammonia provision, there are still many difficulties. One of the problems that is currently emerging is the problem of the wastewater treatment process. one of the efforts to reduce ammoniacontent in oil processing industry waste is by electrocoagulation process. The aim of the study was to determine the ability of the electrocoagulation method to decrease Ammonia levels and determine the effect of strong current changes and changes in time to decreaseAmmonia. The electrode used is aluminum. Variations in current strength used are 2, 3, 4, 5 Ampere and reaction times of 20, 40, 60 and 80 minutes. The experimental resultsshowed that the best electrical current for ammonia removal was 5 amperes. The best reaction time in the ammonia removal process in this study was 80 minutes of reactiontime. Highest ammonia removal obtained in this study was 79.7% (initial ammonia 52.3 mg / L to 10.6 mg / L).Keywords : electrocoagulation, aluminum, petroleum processing waste, ammonia.

Abstract

The reliability of power supply from electricity from national electrical company still remain an issue in certain big cities. This issue is contributed by many root caused such as lack of electrical generator, human error, disaster and others. Due to this, it is urgent to deploy a hybrid electricity. This purpose a hybrid control system to ensure continuity of electricity supply. This control system is designed to accomodate multiple electrical sources which is available such as wind turbine, solar panel and diesel generator. The main priority source to supply the load still electricity from national company because it has the most reliable power. This automatic transfer system is based on ATMega8535 microcontroller. This automatic transfer system is used to backup power that have to reliable and uninterrupted. Abstract

Tofu industry in Lirik produce 0.9 m3 liquid waste in a day, and immeditely disposed without processing. There are two parameters in liquid waste that exceed standard value in Permen LH No.5 2014, which is TSS and pH. Electrocoagulation method used to decrease TSS and increase pH of waste. By varying pattern and range of electrode, obtained results: (1) The best electrode pattern was 2 cathode – 2 anode with TSS removal efficiency was 75%, and increase pH from 3.9 to 6.8. (2) Range of electrode 1.5 and 2.0 cm resulted the greatest TSS removal efficiency were 75% and 76.39%, but in range 2.0 cm increase of pH was only up to 6.1, while in range 1.5 cm it increased to 6.8.Keywords : electrocoagulation, TSS , pH

Abstract

Monoglycerides (MG) and diglycerides (DG) are a group of synthetic emulsifiers that can be obtained from the process of esterification of fatty acids with glycerol using several types of acid-based catalysts, such as ZnO, zinc carboxylate, ZnCl2 and MgO. Recently, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) is used in the process of esterification replacing acid-based catalysts. DES is a system that consists of a mixture of at least two components: hydrogen bond acceptors (HBA) and hydrogen bond donors (HBD) which form eutectic phases that melting points are lower than the constituent components. DES application in the esterification process for the purpose of food grade takes into account the level of toxicity so that DES is made from the composition of green chemistry compounds known as NADES (Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents). NADES is a non-toxic DES group so that it can be applied in processing emulsifier raw materials as additives for food products. In addition, DES can be used repeatedly (reused catalyst) and the results show that the catalyst activity is well. The use of DES which acts as a catalyst and reused catalyst can save costs without reduced the conversion. Key words: DES, emulsifier, esterification, reused catalyst

Abstract

In the development of manufacturing industry the use of composite materials began to be widely used. One of them is composite by using fiber glass or fiber carbon, because of its characteristic that can be designed close to certain needs. In addition the specific strength and stiffness are far exceeding the engineering material in general. This research uses carbon fiber composite material as vehicle body material Shell Eco Marathon (SEM), Which a fraction volume of 70% resin polyester and 30% of carbon fiber. The composite is made using Hand Lay Up method that produces vehicle body SEM of consist of main frame and styrofoam. The result of manufacturing the SEM vehicle body is obtained, so that it can be used as an Urban SEM vehicle body.Keywords: Composite, Carbon Fiber, Hand Lay Up, Shell Eco Marathon (SEM)
