Abstract

Pekanbaru is the capital city of the Riau province where it’s heading to metropolis, so development both hospitals, hotels and shopping malls city are growth rapidly. The construction of the Living World Pekanbaru, located in Soekarno-Hatta street, by lifting the concept of lifestyle center. This project has a number of employees more than 400 people, and the number of works that is four times larger than minimum the government regulations which increased the risk of workplace accidents. In order to reduce this risk, it is necessary implemented SMK3 in the project. The research method is using quantitative method and then the univariate analysis descriptive method and qualitative method. Questionnaire was taken from 400 workers and 27 staff of the projects with reference to Government Rule number 50 of 2012. As a result, The implementation SMK3 reached 71,49% included in the category GOOD. SMK3 audit assessment for building project Living World Pekanbaru has reached 94 % and is at SATISFY category. Audit SMK3 which produces 3 criteria do not correspond minor and 6 major criteria for inappropriate. The Calculation of cost analysis tools and equipment procurement project K3 is equal to Rp.88.009.203,00 or 0,0002% of the entire value of the project contract. In addition, the implementation SMK3 have an inhibiting factor such as tiring, sleepless and work pressure from management.Keywords: Living World Pekanbaru, Risk, SMK3, Audit, Inhibiting factor

Abstract

Chromium (Cr) is a heavy metal that has a toxicity and the presence in waters caused by the disposal of wastewater from various industrial activities, one of them is electroplating industry. One of technology that can be applied to reduce the concentration of Cr in the electroplating industry wastewater is biosorption byusing biomass of blue-green algae (Anabaena cycadae) which immobilization with silica gel. This research aims to reducing the concentration of Cr was analyzed using AAS on variation mass of biomass (0.1; 0.2; 0.3; and 0.4 grams), pH of wastewater (3,5, 7, and 9), and the detention time (30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes).The results showed the adsorption capacity of Cr concentration was highest in mass of biomass 0.2 grams, pH 5, and detention time of 30 minutes is 5.79 mg Cr / g biomass.Keywords: Biosorption, Cr, wastewater of electroplating industry, Anabaenacycadae, immobilization, and silica gel

Abstract

The conventional composting technique of oil palm empty bunches takes several months or even a year to reach maturity because it has a high C / N ratio (64.46) and lignin polymer bond (27.60-32.50%) which hard to degrade. Using Merang Mushroom (Volvariella volvacea) as pretreatment before composting is expected to decrease lignin level and accelerate degradation of empty palm bunches. Merang Mushroom (Volvariella volvacea) is one of white rot fungus which able producing enzymes to degrade the lignin structure became simpler. The purpose of this study is determine the profil temperature in composting process of spent mushroom media by addition Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME).This study was conducted by varying the comparison of TKSJ: POME (1: 0, 2: 1, 1: 1 and 1: 2 w / w) with in vessel composting model. The results showed the temperature in this process reachs standard SNI 19-7030-2004 (28-29 oC). Keywords: Merang Mushroom, POME, C/N and Composting

Abstract

3D bone replica based on porous Hydroxyapatite (HA) is a candidate bone implant material that has similarities to the original bone. Starch consolidation is one of the methods for making HA scaffold The purpose of this research are to determine the effect of sintering temperature on porous HA characteristics. This research was conducted by mixing 20 grams of HA with 8 grams of sago starch and 25 ml of distilled water to form slurry. The slurry formed was then stirred at 400 rpm. The mixture was then put into a mold. Then the mixture in the mold was heated to 100oC for 60 minutes. After that, the green bodies are removed from the mould and dried in an oven at 80°C for 24 hours and 110°C for 8 hours. The dried sample is then put into the furnace. Combustion is carried out at a temperature of 600˚C and ended with sintering at a temperature of 1250˚C with the increasing rate of sintering temperature at 2°C/minute and holding time for 1 hour. The higher the sintering temperature causing the density, shrinkage and bending stress to be greather. Sintered bodies show density in the range of 2.52-2,56 gr/cm3, shrinkage 35.87–39.47% and bending stress 4,026.49 MPa. Keywords: bending stress; bone replica; hydroxypatite; sintering

Abstract

Textile industry is one of the most dominant developed industries in Indonesia. Waste textile industries were dominated by dyes pollution from the production process. One way to pigment used in textile industry is pigment Rhodamin B. Methodt reduce dyes waste pollution is through adsorption. The adsorbent that used was activated carbon from waste palm empty fruit buncheswhich are activation physics in temperature 300oC and chemical activation is done by using H3PO4 activator. This research aims to study the activated carbon capabilities in adsorption Rhodamin B in the variation of the mass of adsorbent 1, 3 and 5 grams, sieve size 0,595-250 mm, 0,250-125 mm and 0,105 mm and a contact time of 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes.The results showed that the optimum occurs at mass 5 grams, sieve size 0,105 mm and a contact time of 45 minutes with an efficiency of 99,50%. While the lowest efficiency is 27% to mass 5 grams, particle size 0,595-0,250 mm and a contact time 15 minutes.Keywords: Adsorption, Activated carbon palm empty fruit bunches, Adsorbent mass, Sieve size , Contact time, Rhodamin B

Abstract

Bacillus subtilis is a spore-forming bacterium and has been identified as spoilage in fruit-based medium such as pineapple. Food preservation by thermal processing is a conventional method and is still used today. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of temperature (T: 90 °C, 95 °C, 100 °C) and pH(2 and 6) on the thermal inactivation of B. subtilis spores. It was shown that higher temperature resulted in the decreasing of the time needed to inactivate the spores. Higher resistance of the spores were observed at higher pH. The D-values obtained at pH 2 and temperatures of 90, 95, 100 °C were 11,24; 5,85, and 2.34 minutes, respectively. D-values at pH 6 were; 38,46, 13,70 and 3,55 minutes. The z-values obtained were in the range 9-14 °C. The results of this study indicate the importance of temperature and pH for heat resistance of B. subtilis spores in pineapple juice. Abstract

SM. Amin road is a national road with two lane two way undivided road (2/2 UD) type in Pekanbaru. Many heavy vehicles pass this road, thus making damage in SM. Amin road especially in Sta 7+400 – Sta 7+600. The road damage will have an impact on the road performance which is decreasing. The aims of this research are to identify the type of damage and to compare road performance in road segment (road with damage and un-damage) by using Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997 method. The conclusion on this research are: (1) the type of damage that greatly affects the decrease in speed is delamination (2) Degree of Saturation in both road segment is 0.71 that mean the road still proper to use, the delay in SM. Amin road caused by the damage on the road. (3) The average speed of road segment in damage and un-damage road is 20km/hours and 29km/hours respectively. (4) The level of service for road segment in un-damage road is in C level category, and D level category for damage road.Keywords: Road Damage, Road Performance, Level Of Service

Abstract

Bagan Sinembah Subdistrict is one area that has the potential to produce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from transportation activities in Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau. This research was conducted to determine CO2 emissions generated from transportation activities for a week. The method used is recording traffic activities to calculate CO2 emissions. The results of the research obtained are, carbon dioxide emissions from transportation activities in the sub-district of the Sinembah chart, namely 18,812,434 tons CO2 / year.Keywords: Carbon Dioxide Emissions, Bagan Sinembah Subdistrict.

Abstract

Peat water is water that available on surface or ground water, it has been affected by the characteristic of the peat. These conditions make well water in that area can not be consumed. Water treatment process needs to be done to improve the water quality. One of them with a simple concept and experiencing is rapid sand filter. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness retrospective on the addition of saturated filter backwashing installation. Reactor rapid sand filters without backwashing and rapid sand filter by backwashing made of PVC pipe diameter 6 " and high 50 cm. The results showed rapid sand filters without backwashing produce the best effectiveness to raise the pH value of 7,96 % and lowers the organic content of 29,31 %. While the rapid sand filter by backwashing produce the best effectiveness in raising the pH value of 5,81 % and lowers the organic content of 30,43 %. In general, the processed peat water from rapid sand filter is capable of improving the water quality of the peat.Keywords : peat water, rapid sand filter, backwashing, water quality

Abstract

Coworking Space is a place where start-ups work along side each other in flexible environtment, which desks are available to rent on daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. The space is in thesame line with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe design principle in function efficiency and simplicity of form. Through the design principle, concept of this coworking space design is Share Through The Glass, which is defined as interaction between outer and inner of building with glass wall. This is based on coworking space characters, such as collaboration, community, sustainability, openness, and accessibility. The concept is applied on zoning, mass order, massing, and facade. Zoning, mass order, and massing are based on Ludwig Mies van der Rohe design principle in simple geometric pattern. By applying vertical and horizontal surface composition principle, colomn and beam become building facade.Keywords: Start-up, Coworking Space, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
