Abstract

The latest innovations in the processing of textile waste is using advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) by oxidant capable of generating a radical sulphate (SO4*). The purpose of this research is to determine catalyst activity of Nano-Mn/CS in oxidation process, reduce the dye on using peroxymonosulfate and Nano-Mn/CS, and determine the optimum conditions for reducing the dye in water. Catalytic synthesis process carried out by the hydrothermal process at temperature of 180o C for 18 hours in an autoclave to produce black carbon from D-glucose solution and then it will be impregnated with a variation of 3% and 5% Mn. Then it calcined with N2 at temperature of 500o C for 4 hours. The optimum condition for degradation of methylene blue (artificial wastes) 25 ppm carried out for 120 minutes with 0,2 gr/L catalysts Nano-Mn/CS and 4 gr/L oxone with efficiency of 91.07%.Keywords: AOPs, Methylene blue, Nano-Mn/CS, Peroxymonosulfate

Abstract

Productivity of small industry in Indonesia might be one of the causes of lacking of capital for the procurement of modern machine tools such as CNC (Computer Numerical Control). The purpose of this research is to make the mechanical components of CNC machine and assemble that to produce machine with cheapest prices. Therefore, the machine selling price can be reached by small industry actors. In this research, all mechanical components was made using machining process and was assembled, which using the finished components that can already be found on the market. The machining process included milling, drilling, grinding, sawing and tapping. Engine components to be assembled including of the frame, liner guide, transmission system and drive system in order to form a perfect CNC machine. Joining system of such machine components used a permanent joining such as welding, and temporary joining using bolts. The assembly also used an exchangeable assembly method, so that faster component assembly time and in replacement of damaged components that can be replaced with similar components on the market.Keywords: Prototype, CNC, Router, Machining, Joining, Assembly

Abstract

Early childhood is a golden period in human development, because at this time began to be formed and expanded child competence development, both cognitively, emotionally and socially. One of the means that can support the development of children through early childhood education institutions. The Early Childhood Education Center in Pekanbaru will facilitate means of education such as classrooms, means of supporting such a garden nursery, children's play area, art space, performance space as well as a hall area. The child has its own character with different adults. The character of the child, active, creative, and do not like to be restricted cause the necessity of processing specifically against the arrangement of space to accommodate children's activities. With that to optimize The Early Childhood Education Center in Pekanbaru used architectural approach behavior. So there will be formed a good relationship between the function of space and user behavior. The basic idea in the formulation of the concept of the Design Center for early childhood education is derived from the character of early childhood behavior, where early childhood is the period of the free developing imagination and creativity. The application of the concept is applied to the arrangement of masses of buildings, building forms, circulation, structuring of space inside and outside spaces, as well as the facade of the building in accordance with the character of the child.Keyword: The Early Childhood Education Center, Pekanbaru, Architecture of Behavior.

Abstract

One material that has potential as raw material for bioethanol is the pineapple peel. Pineapple peel is one of the biggest agricultural waste in Indonesia, especially in Riau derived from pineapples. Pineapple peel can be used as raw material for bioethanol production due to contains of fiber, carbohydrates and glucose. This study was conducted to produce ethanol by fermentation of pineapple peel slurry with treatment concentration inoculum at 10%, 12%, 14% and 16% with the addition nutrition of urea 0,6 g/l , ammonium sulphate 1,3 g/l and fermentation time of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 hours. The fermentation was conducted in batch process. The result showed that inoculum volume and substrate fermentation also ethanol increased since the population of cells improved.The highest yield of bioethanol is 9% (v/v) at inoculum concentred 14% with addition nutrition of urea and the fermentation time 8 hours.keywords : volatile acid, urea, amonium sulfate, fermentation.

Abstract

This research aims to study the effects of graphene oxide addition and curing temperature toward the compressive strength of Palm Oil Fly Ash (POFA) based geopolymer. Matrixes were prepared by mixing treated palm oil fly ash and fine aggregate and continued by preparing alkali activator of 10 M sodium hydroxide and 33,3 mL sodium silicate also different concentration of graphene oxide (0 mg/mL, 1 mg/mL and 3 mg/mL) were mixed for 1 hour. Solid and liquid were mixed together with ratio 0,39 and placed them in geopolymer mortar mold (50 mm x 50 mm x 50 mm) which were cured at room temperature for 1 hour and heated them in oven for 24 hours at different temperature (40oC, 60oC and 80oC). The highest compressive strength was 11.4MPa yielded by adding 3mg/mL of graphene oxide at 80oC.Keywords: compressive strength, curing temperature, geopolymer, graphene oxide, palm oil fly ash

Abstract

Analysis of reliability in this research using Section Technique method. The purpose of this research is to compare the value of the reliability index between before and after by using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System. SCADA is a computer-based equipment which is able to monitor the performance of a system in real time. According to method which is used by Section Technique by dividing a Distribution Network into a section, as each section is impacted same failure of interruption caused system shutdown. Steps to do this research are collecting data, calculate failure parameters, Perform the Reliability System Average Index Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) calculation. System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) and Custumer Average Interruption Duration Index (CAIDI). Index measurement results before SCADA in 2012 SAIFI = 0,891606 times a year, SAIDI = 2,184017 hours a year and CAIDI = 2,449533 hours a years. After SCADA in 2013 SAIFI = 0,466409 times a year, SAIDI = 1,070184 hours a years, and CAIDI = 2,294518 hours a year. With the SCADA system applied on the Zamrud Substation, Reliability Index has increased SAIFI = 58,9 %, SAIDI 51 % and CAIDI 6,34 %.Keywords : Section technique, SCADA, Distribution System, SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIDI

Abstract

The number of vehicles in the big cities has increased rapidly, this phenomena has triggered an over density situation in the traffic light. The purpose of this study is to develop a tool to measurethe density of vehicles with sensors and RF 433Mhz as transmission media. To realize these tools, three ultrasonic sensors are used as a detector of the presence of a vehicle with a sensor with an object placed between 3 cm to 3 m and the distance between each sensor 50 m. The measurement values obtained from the measurement results shown through PLX-DAQ applications. In the design of this system is to perform testing of the tool, the measurement results can be analyzed todetermine the density of vehicles that can be categorized by the level of density, loose, short, medium and long. Abstract

The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) is one of the main wind power generation components that can be developed. In this research will be examined aspect of PMSG design based on MagNet Infolytica Trial Edition software is performed. Aspects of design that will be made refer to the stages to be performed on software Magnete Infolytica. The design using a combination of 18 slots 16 pole draft is then modeled on the MagNet Infolytica Trial Edition software. This generator has expected capacity 400 watts of power and 450 rpm of speed. The following step is to simulate the model design referring to the specifications mentioned at the beginning. By completing all the steps it can be concluded that Design proses on SolidWorks software is targeted for 1 set of slot and pole, then the design model will be extended to become a whole complete design import into the MagNet Infolytica software can be rotated, this proses able to save a lot of time of design, Choosing the correct size of mesh will impact to accuracy of the output waveform, either voltage, current or torque, The initial model simulation results are required some improvements, because of time efficiency matters, and The winding configuration is unique for each of slot and pole combinations. Abstract

The lack of knowledge how human relation with aquatic occur in Pekanbaru society. They have need a place to introduce aquatic in order to growing concern for aquatic at oncegood for human pyshcology and to reduce stress. Siak River Aquatic Hub is a place which giving education about aquatic a live by sub-diving, marine breeding, aquaplants conservation, touching marine and art by aquatic. Water as the main element of design implemented in concept transformation as nature section and high-tech structure making theiconic building in Pekanbaru all of those can be realized by Santiago Calatrava design principle. As Calatrava to interested user by having nature in design so make the Diving Soulto Realms is a good main concept. The main idea of Siak River Aquatic Hub are bring user’s soul to feel how aquatic life and be clarified by profile of Siak River as familiar nature inPekanbaru and be transformationed by Calatrava design principle heed by water reflector, high-tech of structure and a lot of cuvring applied in Siak River Aquatic Hub.Keywords : Aquatic Hub, Sungai Siak, Calatrava.

Abstract

wood processing company that manufactures pallets in its operational activities has the potential to generate noise coming. Which in the production process produces noise from the use of machines. Noise arising from the use of machines can affect the health and comfort of workers, especially in hearing loss. The purpose of this research is to know the intensity of noise resulting from the use of machines, noise mapping, evaluation of noise intensity, exposure time and noise control efforts. In this research measurements of temperature, wind speed and noise intensity using a Sound Level Meter (SLM).
