Abstract

Traditional music in Malay tradition is used as a means or media of ceremonial cultural ceremonies (ritual), accompaniment dance, media entertainment, media communication, media self-expression. Rokan Hulu has a variety of traditional percussion music in the form of Gondang, Oguong, Gong, Calompong, Gambus. As time goes by, the community's interest in traditional music art is very low, especially for the younger generation and the absence of a container to study and preserve traditional percussion music. Therefore, this study aims to design a percussion music art Center for the development and preservation of percussion music potential to be able to improve the public knowledge about traditional percussion music. The selection of Rokan Hulu Regency is a central location for traditional percussion music because it has good potential, strategic location, the art heritage of music. The method used in this design is to use the Neo-vernacular architecture approach by applying the principles and design ideas that exist in the architectural characteristics of Rokan IV Koto with the addition of modern elements inside . The concept used is the concept of the Untaian Borogong transformation, which is expected to unite between architecture and music art. The final result is the design of a traditional percussion music art Center presenting the local music art of Rokan Hulu.Keyword: Architecture Neo Vernacular, Rokan Hulu, Culture, Culture Center

Abstract

Brain is the important part as a control center, coordination and controling the human body. Inside the brain can be noticed that there are activity and abnormalities of the brain work. Every single person has activity or abnormalities brain work. It can happen to children with autism. Children who have an autistic symptoms occur due to distrubance of complex and variation of the brain function. A brain waves recorder or Elektroesefalogram can see and read the brain work activity. elektroesefalogram is a test that is used to know the electrical activity of the brain to detect whether there is a brain abnormality or not. This research designs a prototype EEG equipment especially to record children with autistic symptoms. The choosen participants in this research are chosen by seeing the result of CAST questionnaire that contains 37 questions. The recording in this research is used by using a particular sensor which is electrode, that is installed on the scalp and connected to computer/laptop. Using 4 electrodes in the lobes that are determined as a benchmark. The result of the recording can be displayed directly by MATLAB on a connected computer.Keywords : Autism, EEG, CAST, electrodes, Electroensephalogram, MATLAB.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain the appropriate capacity circuit breaker on the electric power system of Riau using bus impedance matrix method in determining the flow of short circuit in the electric power system of Riau. This research was conducted in two conditions, namely the current state (exsisting) and the conditions at the time of entry of a new generation into the electricity system interconnection network Riau region in this regard Tenayan power plant with a capacity of 2x110 MW.The results showed that the capacity of the circuit breaker that is currently installed on the electrical system Riau region is still larger than the three-phase short-circuit current simteris that may occur at this time of 12,375kA and at the time of entry of a new generation of 13,215kA so it can be said that the electrical system Riau region still able to withstand short circuit currents that may occur at the time of entry of the power supply from new power plants that have been planned.Keyswords: capacity circuit breaker, circuit breaker, short circuit

Abstract

The rapid rate of world population growth conduces demand and supply of fuel is not balance. So that, energy reserves has been depleted in large numbers. Especially fossil fuels which is a main energy. The government has compiled program and policy for development of bioethanol and biodiesel to resolve energy crisis in indonesia which targeted in 2025 can be approximately 15-20% fuels need to fulfill transportation sector and the national industry. This research aims to produce bioethanol fuel grade-adsorption using distillation methods, determine the effect of the ratio of CaO : bioethanol and height of the adsorbent in the column for producing bioethanol fuel grade. The raw material is bioethanol from nipa sap fermentation results with 13% ethanol content. Ethanol content obtained not too high previously, so that should be took a process that can be increase the purity of bioethanol with distillation process-adsorption. This research divided into two stages . First stage is nipa sap bioethanol distiled up to 96% concentration and second stage is distillation-adsorption using CaO adsorbent. Independent variables on this research is ratio of CaO : bioethanol and a particle size of adsorbent in the adsorption column. The most influence process to review bioethanol purification is distillation-adsorption CaO with ratio : bioethanol 1 : 2 and a particle size of adsorbent is 200 mesh cm with purity of 99,7% and had been categorized fuel grade bioethanol.Keywords: CaO, bioethanol, distilation- adsorption process, nypa

Abstract

Adsorption cooling system double bed with silica gel as adsorbent and water as the adsorbate is expected to reduce the use of refrigerant in the vapor compression system that utilizes refrigerant chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) that could potentially damage the ozone layer and increase global warming. This study aims to increase the value of the COP (Coeficient Of Performance) and SCP (Specific Cooling Power) adsorption cooling system double bed by testing. The method in this research is by means of heat and mass recovery time of the system. Methods of heat recovery time is done to improve the performance of adsorption double bed system-water pair silica gel as adsorbent-adsorbate. Based on test data and calculations are obtained, the lowest temperature of the water coming out of the evaporator is 12.57 0C with a change in average highest temperature was 2.440C. The highest COP value of the adsorption cooling system amounted to 0.49 in heat hecovery time 40 s and cycle time 500 s.Keywords: adsorption, heat recovery, cooling system, silica gel.

Abstract

The availability of electrical energy is an important thing needed in everylife. To control if there is a power failure happened from the main supply (PLN) a device is needed, so that the reliability of the transmission system is maintained. This tool is known as the transfer switch the cam switch. When there is a disruption to the PLN electricity then the cam switch will automatically be moved to the generator supply, if the PLN electricity has improved then the cam switch is again moved to the PLN contact, and to move the cam switch is used an electric motor. In this research designed a stepper variable reluctance motor as a cam switch driver. Stepper variable reluctance motors are designed using magnet infolytica software with a combination of 6 stator poles and 4 rotor gears. The reluctance 6/4 stepper variable motor is expected to be able to drive the cam switch with a torque of 0.3 Nm and a 30-degree rotor step length. After being analyzed, it was obtained that the optimal dimension values with outer dimension of the stator 122 mm, inner diameter of the stator 72 mm, outer diameter of the rotor 71 mm and the machine length is 44.5 mm with 800 turns. The results of the analysis of the research obtained a machine torque value of 0.192 Nm. When the length of the machine is enlarged to 70 mm then the machine torque is 0.301 Nm, but the large flux density is 1.41 Tesla to 1.64 Tesla.Keywords : stepper variable reluctance motor, cam switch, software magnet infolytica

Abstract

Peat water in quantitative subject is very potential to be proceed for cleaned water in water resources. But in qualitative aspect, there is so much problem, there are the colour (dark brown), low PH, and high organic inside. The using of Biocoagulan is the best way as alternative for decrease the using of sintetic coagulant that can influence our health for a long term use. The purpose of this experiment is for knowing the effect of dosage (V/V), speed of stirring, and PH for decreasing colour and organic substances (KMnO4) in peat water with using biocoagulant aloevera gel. The variation are dosage of aloe vera gel (10 mL/L, 15mL/L, 20 mL/L ), the speed of stirring (100 rpm ,150 rpm and 200 rpm) with the PH constantly in the nature of PH peat water it self and PH 7. The result show that peat water treatment with using aloe vera gel with variation 15 ml/l, speed of stirring 200 and PH7 is the best result for decreasing the colour with value 80,66 % and organic substances is about 69,69% Keywords : Peat Water, Stirring Speed, Coagulation-Floculation, Biocoagulant, Aloe Vera

Abstract

Electrical energy needs are increasing and limited fossil energy triggers a rapid development in renewable energy. One of the renewable energy resources is wind turbines. The kinetic energy of the wind can be converted into electrical energy using wind turbines. The purpose of this study is to figure out  the performance of horizontal axis wind turbines with 5 inverse taper type blades. Wind turbines located at a height of 19 m above the ground. The power output of generator was measured  with load conditions. The load was given for this testing is 10 Ohm Resistor. Data collected from the testing were wind speeds, electrical voltages and rotational speeds. From the test achieved maximum of 49,24 Watt when the wind speed of 8,3 m/s. Wind turbine generator starts generate electrical power at a wind speed of 2  m/s. The maximum achievement of power coefficient of 0,0369  at TSR 0.721.   Keywords: Wind turbine, wind speed, electrical voltage, rotational speed, power coefficient

Abstract

This paper presents the application of satellite remote sensing techniques to detect and identify peatland cover types in Riau Province, Indonesia. Mapping the spatial distribution of organic soils is important for decision making in land management and mitigation of peatland forest fires. Organic soil types have a strong effect on carbon storage, water availability and quality, biodiversity and many other ecosystem services. This study uses GIS software and Landsat-8 satellite data to identify the type of peat land cover in Tebing Tinggi island. This area were picked up as pilot project areas for this research, because these areas historically had many fire spots on last few years. The results show how this approach can be used to land cover classification and for predicting mineral and organic soils in locations within the map unit quickly and cost-effectively. The identification of Peatland was done using composites of band ratios and single band variables. The best composite band ratio that can be used is a 7-5-3 band combination. This combination consists of band 7 (Shortwave Infrared 2), band 5 (Near Infrared) and band 3 (Green). This combination is selected because it can classify land cover of peatland into 5 classes, there are primary peat swamp forest, disturbed / regrowth peat swamp forest, agriculture mosaic, burn scars or urban areas, missing data or water. The result of data processing of Landsat 8 Satellite image shows that 95% of Tebing Tinggi island area is composed of peatland. Based on the results of data processing Citra Landsat 8 can be seen some areas of Tebing Tinggi islands indicate red color means the area of burn scars or burn earth. The result of fire point processing shows the largest number of hotspots existed throughout the year 2014 with the number of fire points as much as 1351 points. In the year 2013 with the number of hotspots as much as 110 points and the smallest occurred throughout the year 2015 with the number of points of fire as much as 79 points. The result map peatlands will be useful for land management and carbon storage decisions in the soil in an effort to prevent land and forest fires. Abstract

Cooperation is a legal entity established by a person or cooperation legal entity. Sumber Rezeki multipurpose cooperation is a cooperation that is in Kotalama Subdistrict, Kunto Darussalam District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. This cooperation used a manual way to pay the salary of all members and the employees. The member had the highest authorityin the cooperation, and the employee is who managed the cooperation. It is developed a Payroll Information System of cooperation members using Visual Basic to ease the process ofpaying the salary. The method used to plan the Information System is Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Method with Waterfall Model and Visual Basic programming. In this research, it is developed a Payroll Information System that can ease process of salary payingof cooperation members and cooperation employees. This System can facilitate salary data managing and share information needed by the employees. The Payroll Information Systemdeveloped can calculate the salary that would be received by the members and employees. At the beginning, payroll data are managed manually in the form of a hardcopy. Now, by usingdatabase system all the payroll data are saved in the database, and data can be printed out when the data are needed. If the members want to know the information about their group,they should find the employees. Now, by using Payroll Information System, all information can be received through the system developed.Keywords: Salary Information System, Cooperation, SDLC Methods.
