Abstract

The Koto Kari Mosque Lake Tourism Area is one of the natural features in Kuantan Singingi Regency that has the potential to become a major tourist attraction. Many tourists flock to the area because of its alluring possibilities. The provision of suitable facilities to enable tourism activities does not support the existing potential. As a result, it is vital to set up a good area by paying attention to the potential that exists in the region so that it may be utilized optimally while maintaining the area's qualities. The goal of this research is to come up with a plan for an area that can comfortably accommodate tourist activities. The topic of Contextual Architecture is applied to the design concept of the Koto Kari Mosque Lake tourist area. The research technique is a qualitative method that uses a logical approach to conduct descriptive research. Data was gathered through field investigations, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study show that using a contextual architectural strategy to create the Koto Kari Mosque Lake tourist area is the best option. The region's design with this theme is intended to be able to create a tourism area arrangement that blends in with the local area's still-standing buildings. So that guests who come not only to travel but also to experience the distinctive ambiance of the tourist region can do so with the help of contextual architecture.Keywords : Tourist Areas, Lakes, Contextual Architecture

Abstract

Fatty alcohol is a derivative of vegetable fats and animal oils, and is a non-oil and gas export commodity that is needed by various industries such as perfumes, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages. demand for alcohol is increasing every year. The import of alcohol has been carried out, but the domestic demand for alcohol has not been met. This has led to the establishment of a fatty alcohol factory with crude palm oil as the main raw material to meet these needs. The plant has an annual production capacity of 130,000 tons and will be established in Pelintung, Dumai. The production of fatty alcohols is carried out through three processes: pretreatment, transesterification and hydrogenation. The main equipment of this tool is designed as a hydrogenation reactor, which functions to react methyl ester with hydrogen with the help of a CuCr catalyst. The operating temperature used is 1700C with an operating pressure of 100 bar. The hydrogenation reactor is 4,006 m (157.72 in) high and uses skirt supports. Factory economic analysis is carried out to determine the feasibility of the factory to be built. Based on the results of the economic feasibility analysis of the factory, the Fatty alcohol factory is feasible to be built with IRR 24.164%, ROI 27.35% and BEP 58%.Keywords: Crude palm oil, economic analysis, fatty alcohol, hydrogenation, transesterification

Abstract

Abrasion and sedimentation are events that usually arise due to the movement and accumulation of material carried by ocean currents. Severe damage occurred in coastal areas such as on Bengkalis Island. Research on the initial motion of grains, especially on peat material, is very interesting to study. This study aims to analyze the relationship between flow velocity and grain diameter at the beginning of the movement of peat material grains. The initial motion of the peat material will be compared with the movement of the sand material. Modeling to analyze the initial motion of the grains on peat soil using Armfield Sediment Transport Demonstration Channel as flume. The flume velocity was varied starting from the lowest and symbolized by U, namely 1-7 (U=0.009890.10112 m/s) speed for peat material, and 4-10 (U=0.03973-0.18900 m/s) speed for sand material. The results showed that peat material experienced easier grain movement than sand material. This is due to the smaller spesific gravity of peat than sand. Proven based on the shield graph, the results of the critical shear stress on the sand sample No. 10 is below the shield graph, and on the peat material No. 10 is above the shield chart. Based on visual observations on peat sediments, it is found that the movement starts from the type of laminar flow, while in the sand sediments there is movement in the type of turbulent flow. Abstract

Monoethylene glycol (MEG) is a glycol compound with single bonds. MEG is used as an antifreeze in machinery, as a raw material for the production of polyethylene terephthalate, and as a heat exchange fluid. MEG production process is carried out by reacting the feed in the form of ethylene oxide with water and the obtained production capacity is 250,000 tons/year. The ethylene glycol production process is carried out through the Dow METEOR process which consists of 4 stages, those are the raw material preparation stage, the ethylene glycol formation stage, the ethylene glycol concentration stage, and the product separation stage. The main design is the distillation column DC-101, which is used to seperate monoethylene glycol from diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol as by-product. Based on the results of the economic feasibility analysis of the factory, the ethylene glycol plant is feasible to establish with a Payback Period (PBB) obtained of 2 years, an IRR of 22.738%, a Percent Return on Investment (ROI) is 30.59%, and a Break Event Point (BEP) is obtained by 60%.Keywords: Ethylene glycol,Ethylene Oxide, Dow METEOR, Distillation Column

Abstract

Internet Service Providers (ISP), better known as internet service providers, are manufacturers or institutions that provide internet connection services and other related services. To monitor the stability of the Provider network, a Quality of Service (QoS) parameter is needed as a standard for testing the quality of internet services, for example when uploading videos, the traffic load on the internet network will increase. . Quality of Service (QoS) is carried out by monitoring the access speed of Telkomsel providers with the delay parameter as a determining point. The results of Quality of Service research when uploading videos with 360p resolution for 3 days using a Telkomsel provider in the morning obtained the lowest delay value with an average of 1.17 milliseconds (ms) and the highest delay value was obtained during the day 1.81 milliseconds (ms). with good quality according to TIPHON standard. From these results it can be concluded that the higher the delay value of a data, the slower the network speed.Keywords : ISP, Upload, Delay, QoS

Abstract

Propylene glycol or 1,2-propadienol is an organic compound which has low toxicity and good formulation properties. Propylene glycol can be used as a preservative or solvent in the food industry, softener or moisturizer in the cosmetic industry, drug formulas in the pharmaceutical industry, additives that function as viscosity and color stabilizers in the paint industry, and others. Application of propylene glycol is vast, so that the demand for propylene glycol increases from year to year. However, until now, all propylene glycol needs in Indonesia still rely on imports. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a propylene glycol factory in Indonesia. The pre-design of this plant is carried out in several steps, namely collecting data sources to support the establishment of the plant, calculating mass and energy balances, calculating heat and mass exchange networks, calculating and designing hydrogenation reactors and their supporting accessories, and economic analysis. In the pre-design of this plant, a reactor was designed in the form of a hydrogenation reactor which functions as a reaction site for acetol with hydrogen gas. The type of reactor used is a fixed bed multitube reactor with a temperature of 300 ° C and a pressure of 14 bar. The hydrogenation reactor has 48 tubes, 5,0627 m high, 0,4382 m outside diameter, and uses skirt support.Keywords: Propylene glycol, glycerol, hydrogenation reactor, economic analysis

Abstract

Peat soil as an adsorbent in peat water treatment is located in Sabak Permai Village, Sabak Auh District, Siak Regency. This study aims to study the effect of mass variation and contact time of peat soil adsorbent on the efficiency of Fe, Mn and color removal in peat water. The experiment was carried out by adsorption at a speed of 125 rpm by varying the mass (5, 10, 15, 20 g/L) and contact time (120, 150, 180, 210 minutes). While the fixed variables are 10% Phosphoric Acid Activator, 3000C Heating and 80 mesh particle size. The concentration of iron metal removal (Fe) was 0.449 mg/L with a percentage of 88.66%, Manganese (Mn) was 0.081 mg/L with a percentage of 90.75% and color removal in peat water was 380.5 PtCo. with a percentage of 71.5%. The adsorption capacity of peat water on Fe metal is 3.618 mg/gr, Manganese Mn is 0.796 mg/gr and color 1.259 mg/g organic matter is 294.2 mg/gr and iron (Fe) is 3.91 mg/gr at a mass of 20 grams and a time of 210 minutes.  Keywords: Peat Soil, Peat Water, Adsorption, Removal Efficiency, Adsorption Capacity

Abstract

Business card is a card that can deliver some informations related to company or even professionals, but some people in business such as professionals and companies doesn’t have business card or only some of them have business cards for reasons such as the funds spent on making business cards for many employees are too large for the scale of a business as big as a company, and feel that business cards are not very important for professionals. With Augmented Reality Technology, business cards can be converted into digital form so it can be easily accessed by many people and certain people, and relatively low production costs than conventional business cards. The use of Augmented Reality technology by scanning digital business cards as markers in the form of texts and images, and displays an object on a marker. Digital business cards are divided into two types, namely business cards for public use and business cards for use in business which will appear if successfully scanned using a marker. Create and process digital business cards, design and upload markers, design application interfaces, and design Augmented Reality technology in the form of Android Package Kit (APK). Development of this application requires several tools, such Unity 3D, Vuforia SDK, Android SDK, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premier. This study resulted an Android-based application with Augmented Reality Technology as a medium for displaying digital business cards by scanning markers using a smartphone, so users can see digital business cards have better informations.Keywords: Augmented Reality, Marker, business cards, kartu nama digital.

Ceramic membrane is a technology that can be used to filter and absorb organic matter and color in peat water. Abstract

The heavy metal found in industrial waste is copper (Cu). The adsorption process of the artificial Cu 2+ solution was investigated using an adsorbent made from Empty Palm Oil Bunches (EFB). EFB is one of the largest solid wastes produced from agricultural activities which contain lignocellulose. Lignocellulose is the main component of EFB which has the ability to adsorb heavy metals because it contains active groups such as –OH and COOH. This study aims to calculate the efficiency of metal ion Cu2+ on EFB adsorbent, with adsorbent mass variation 0.5; 2; 3.5; 5 and 6.5 grams. the best efficiency results were obtained, namely the adsorbent mass of 6.5 grams, which was 79.33%.Keywords: Adsorption, , Cu2+, Palm Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB).
