Abstract

Education is primary requirement of human, including children with autism. Autism education has problems due to disturbance behaviors exhibited by autistic children. One of the efforts to deal with problems on their behavior is to establish autism therapy centre which also serves as an educational centre with the aim to establish positive behavior and develop other lately capability. Education centre, therapy, and healthcare autism have an important role in the formation and development of behavior and the ability of behavior autistic children. The activities require a aspace that can meet the needs of architectural aspects such as directed circulation, the order of the mass, and organized spaceso that the autistic children can do their activities properly for the establishment and development of behavior and the behavior of its ability. Architecture behavioral theory used in this design process is from Rapoport in Architecture, Environment, and Behavior; behavioral theory of autistic children is from Muhammad Sugiarmin in Adaptive Behavior Development for Autistic Children; and the theory of dynamic geometry concept is from Sondang Junita in AutismSpecial Needs School of dynamism in behavior of autistic children predilection towards geometric shapes. Design method is using dynamic geometry. The concept of dynamicgeometry applied to the architectural approach behavior, which includes pattern of outer space, the order of the masses, circulation of outer space, the spatial pattern, dan circulationin the room. Designing Autism Care Centre is expected to accomodate the needs and activities of autistic children in the field of education, therapy, and health behavior with autistic children in order to establish and develop the behavior and the behavior of its abilities.Keywords : Care Centre. Abstract

At this time the more widespread use of engine cooling of homes, offices, hotels, cars, hospitals, and industries. The use of engine cooling capacity varies from small to large. Engine cooling is the most widely used today is the engine cooling operating with vapor compression cycle. One of the basic components that operate the engine cooling vapor compression cycle is the expansion tools. The usefulness of the expansion tools is to reduce the pressure expansion of liquid refrigerant from the condenser exit and regulating the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator entrance. Expansion tools will regulate the flow of refrigerant can be manual or automatic. For optimal cooling requirements, it is important to determine the effect of expansion tools with temperature and pressure of the vapor compression engine cooling cycle is. The test using a thermostatic valve is more efficient compared with the capillary tube, this is due to the use of the thermostatic valve will provide temperature and working pressure lower than the capillary tube, so that the process will lead to greater heat absorption and compressor work will be lighter so the power consumption will be becomes smaller.Keywords :expansion tools, capillary tube, thermostatic expansion valve, refrigerant

Abstract

The vapor compression cycle of air conditioning has been used as conditioner in a room to get comfort condition. Conditioning air happened because the heat on room was absorped by evaporator (indoor unit). Usually, heat on condenser will be discarded. The wasted energy in condensor can be used as hot water by adding dummy condenser as complement. The dummy condensor would influence the cooling system temperature of compression cycle with change of cooling load in this research. This research was done experimentally. The result of experiment showed that temperature was about 61.70 0C for 120 minutes in performance. When cooling load was given to room, refrigerant temperature would get higher so that temperature of hot water would be higher too.Keywords : Air conditioning, water heater, dummy condensor, cooling load.

Abstract

Hydrogen is one of the promising renewable energy and potential subtitute for fossil fuels in the future. Hydrogen has short comings in its application as fuel is in storage. The study resulted in the capacity of hydrogen adsorption on activated carbon made from palm shells. Data were collected by volumetric method in the isothermal adsorption process. Adsorption isotherm temperature is performed at 45oC at pressures up to 30 bar. The maximum adsorption capacity at isotherm temperatures 45oC is 2.03x10-3 kg/kg mass of adsorbent at a pressure of 30.13 bar. Subsequently correlated the data obtained using the Langmuir model equation, Toth and Langmuir-Freundlich. Deviation from the Langmuir equation, Toth and Langmuir-Freundlich obtained was 16.72.77%, 15.97% and 9.79%.Keywords: Hydrogen Adsorption, Volumetric Method, Isotherm Adsorption

Abstract

Cutting fluid (coolant) are required in the machining processes. Most of cutting fluid are from mineral oil, and they are as unrenewable resource, therefore look for alternative resources ofmineral oil, which derived from vegetables oil. Palm oil have potency based of cutting fluid, however of coolant properties increased additive. This research want investigate effect ofadditive on phiysical properties of coolant. The method on mixture combining palm oil and additive (calcium hypochlorite) are conducted take of three proportion (95:5), (90:10), (85:15), the results from mixture the tested physical properties of viscosity at 40oC and 100oC of temperature. The results acknowledge the addition of (calcium hypochlorite) with palm oileffects on phiysical properties of coolant, the greater the percentage of calcium hypochlorite viscosity increased.Keywords: Cutting fluid (coolant), palm oil, additive, calcium hypochlorite, physical properties.

Abstract

Resor Kampung Nelayan, with theme green architectural is the title of the last design or thesis that take location in the coast area Batam Archipelago. Exactly in the chief of village Sembulang, Rempang Island, Batam Archipelago. Resort is a place to stay that identical to nature, which has special facilities to relaxing activity and sports such as swimming, spa, tracking, and jogging. Green architectural is an architecture that use minimum consumption of natural resources, include energy, water, and material, also minimum in caused negative effect to the environment. Chief of village Sembulang is a chief of village that has enough potential in beach area, but still not yet get development in tourism sector. Because of that, adding resort as one of tour destination that wished can maximize that potential. With the title of Resort Kampung Nelayan, it meant this resort will be presenting villages or fisherman community as an icon of the resort. The problem that we get in this design is how to match the natural potential, resort, tour, and community in one design. The purpose that want to be reached is that the design can be mixed with nature dan also kind to the environment to maximize the potential which is exist, so that tour and resort that are available can be served maximally. So resort design with green architectural theme is a design that kind to the environment around and can give comfortable atmosphere for users because a resort must match with the conditional around and can give comfortable feels.Keywords: Resort, Green Architectural, Fisherman Community.

Abstract

Rupat Beach Theme Park is a medium beach recreation forum in the Rupat subdistrict, which has function as a family holiday place, specially for Riau society and the regional around it. Geographically, the position of Rupat Island is very strategic, because it is located between the international trade route. This island is also located between two important place, they are Bandarkuna Malaka in the east side, and Sumatera Island as the place which produce various nature properties in the west side. This design use the part of the post modern architecture as a theme, this is metaphor, and the concept is pastiche, whichis the intend of this concept is to move one element (atmosphere, decorative manner, building mass form ), or a group of element from a place to the other. In this design there are some element which be moved, which come from 5 country in the south east Asia (Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia), from each country, we take one or two part which will be pastiche-ly. The conclusion which we get from this design of Rupat Beach Theme Park are: Giving the clear limit from each zone based on function which have beendetermined, balancing the position of games forum and the building function, and the application of pastiche concept which has been applied on each of building mass.Keywords: Rupat Beach Theme Park, Post-modern Architechture, Methapor, Pastiche, Recreation Forum, Beach.

Abstract

Information Technology Center is a place which has function as a center for a place which including the technology for share information by using computer system which is usefull for human in the social condition, economy, and culture. Pekanbaru is a town which has high city activity in the area of commerce and service, so its need of information technology is high. Information Technology Center in Pekanbaru is a place which has been designed to accomodate the need in the area of information technology, therefore it use the theme Architecture High Tech. The concept which has been applied is the six characters of Architecture High Tech building, that is consisted of : (1) Inside out, the use of tranparent element; (2) Celebration of process, the exposed structure; (3) Transparent, layer, and movement; (4) Bright and flatten coloring; (5) A weight filigree of tensile member; (6) Optimistic confidence in a scientific cultura, that is the use of technology which is oriented to the future. By this design activity, it has been obtained the conclusion that in designing Information Technology Center, we need: (1) The clear division of the areas in the information technology, which later it will be the mass of the building; (2) The effective compilation of spaces; (3) The applying of architechture high tech which is started from the use of building material, structure, the expose of building technology system, the coloring which is based of function, and economical of energy technology.Key Words: Information Technology Center, High Tech Architecture.

Abstract

Ports is a facilities of transportasion which still plays an important role in the development of various modes of transport. Especially in Indonesia, known as the MaritimeStates, port as part well as a liaison between the gate area economy. Sei Duku Port is the only port that is located right in Pekanbaru’s downtown, Sei Duku Port plays an important role in the development of Pekanbaru and Riau Province. Along with the times Sei Duku port state currently has some shortcoming such as chaotic circulation, irregular parking area, and don’t accomodate the needs of the water transportation into or out ofPekanbaru. So, it needs to redesign and developing the Sei Duku Port. Redesign and development of the Sei Duku Port apply the structure as an aesthetic element by applying theconcept of tectonics architectural. Application of the theme and concept was done by exposure and processing of the structure of the building so as to overcome the problems that occured on the current port. Abstract

Intellectual dissabilities school is an institution of formal education that caters for children with mental retardation. To solve the problem of designing a room needed by the children with intellectual dissabilities, is with architectural behavior approach for the children with intellectual dissabilities. This research uses the theory of behavioral architecture, the theory of children with intellectual dissabilities behavior in children withintellectual dissabilities learning books and theory of optimal quality room. The design method is using concept of optimal quality room. The optimal quality room includes the activity of the children with intellectual dissabilities, magnitude characteristics of children with intellectual dissabilities, accessibility, site zone, colour, temperature and lighting, sizeand shape, furniture and its arrangement. Designing intellectual dissabilities school has met and accommodate the needs of the children with intellectual dissabilities according to their mindset and character.Key words: Mentally School, Intellectual Dissabilities, Behavioral Architecture, Optimal Quality Room
