Abstract

One of the aspects that can affect reduced the quality of electricity is the incidence of harmonics on electric waves due to by non linear loads, causing additional losses and led to decrease in work capacity (derating) the distribution transformer. Results of measurement of harmonics in distribution transformers in Riau University engineering faculty for one week, at certain times indicate the value percentage of 12.57% TDD exceeding the IEEE 519-1992 standard is 5%. This proves that the transformer impaired harmonic currents. As for the voltage distortion does not have problems (not exceeding standards). Based on the measurement results of 18.57% current THD cause losses of 19.3 kW and has a value of 27.4% THDF thus decreasing the capacity of power (kVA) installed or derating of 72.6%.Keywords : Harmonics, Total Harmonic Distortion and Derating

Abstract

Reactor power losses in electric power networks can be compensated by capacitor bank. With a capacitor bank the voltage in the line keep in standard tolerance. In PT Chevon Pacific Indonesia, South Balam Feeder 1 with 13,8 kv radial distribution network and total load 4470 kVA is inductive motor of nod pump distributed at a number of dot with length 44.7 km. When The length of electric power networks longer, the problem is about size of capacitor and it’s located to get the minimum power losses. This case study will give one of solution with Algorithm Genetic Methode using software ETAP 7.0 and Matlab 2008b. The mounting points on 16 Z 14, SoBalam#155, 16 Z 73, SoBalam#142 and Antara#7 with capacity 600 kVAr and then system of voltage 95 % over the nominal voltage as the result.Keywords : power flow, genetic algorithms, reactive power compensation, power quality, capacitor bank.

Abstract

Cell phones have become a major part of the society in daily life - today. The use of mobile phones has spread in every community, rural and urban. SingTel, Hutchison, Comindo Axiataand Indosat are some operators cellular telecommunications network that use UMTS and HSDPA technology. The parameters that determine the power level and the quality of the signal strenght of each operator is known as RxLevel (the Receptiom Level) for GSM and the RSCP (Received Signal Code Power) in order to WCDMA. One of methods for analyzing to measure that parameters is a drive test which use rf signal tracker software. This research will compare a drive test method with simulation method, where the simulation using radio mobile software. The location of this research is in some protocol streets on Pekanbaru, such as Cut Nyak Dien Street, Jend. Ahmad Yani Street, Ir. H. Juanda Street, Gajah Mada Street, Diponegoro Street and Jend. Sudirman Street. The result shows that Telkomsel has the best signal strength in protocol streets on Pekanbaru with -63.082 dBm, followed by XL Axiata with -68.187 dBm, then Hutchison with -75.082 dBm. The lowest signal strenght is operator Indosat with the value -86.411 dBm.Keywords: WCDMA, UMTS, HSDPA, Drive Test, RF Signal Tracker, Radio Mobile.

Abstract

The development of electrical power is important issue and has more effect to development of Indonesia. One of ways to increase the amount of power needed in manufacturing parallel system for distribution transformer. This way using by Engineering Faculty, University of Riau need 475,015 kVA or approximately 59,37% from maximum limit transformer load. Load limit for distribution substation of transformer from datasheet is 400kVA p.u and for load limit from theory calculation is 381,084kVA p.u or approximately 95,271%. This losses get from loss of material transformator about 4,729%. According to standardization presented by schneider electric, USA. transformator with the least impedance will have the most current cause in short age of the transformator.Keywords : Distribution System, Parallel System, Transformer, Flow Circulation.

Abstract

Technology Long Term Evolution (LTE) has a high-speed data transfer, large range of access and mobility. Long Term Evolution (LTE) antenna requires small dimensions and integrates easily. Therefore, microstrip antenna is a good candidate for this application. This paper discusses the design of a single antenna element and a fourth element circular and rectangular patch, microstrip patch antenna which can be used for LTE applications in the 2.3 GHz (2.3 to 2.36 GHz). Microstrip antenna designed using microstrip line technique. Design and simulation of microstrip antenna requires Ansoft HFFS paragraph 13. The simulation results show that the antenna can operate at frequencies from 2.3 to 2.36 GHz. Impedance bandwidth of 163 MHz value (2.252 to 2.415 GHz) or 6.9% at VSWR ≤ 1.9 and gain is 4,704 dBi.Keywords : Long Term Evolution (LTE ), Planar Array, Microstrip Line, VSWR and Gain

Abstract

The company that has business units specific location would want the business units are connected to one another in a network and can share important information quickly to support the company's business continuity. One is seeking a fast network connection to send the shipment and demand data. One solution that can be used is the routing protocol. The use of routing protocols greatly affect how network performance local area network of a company. To support LAN network performance optimization, routing protocols have a fundamental role in the network. Selection of the appropriate routing protocols necessary for optimal and efficient network, and can cope with complex routing situations quickly and accurately. Case studies conducted in PT.Chevron Pacific Indonesia to implement multiple routing protocols on the LAN network PT.Chevron Pacific Indonesia. Implementers conducted in simulated General Network Simulator 3 and use wireshark to get a delay, packet loss, and thrpoughput using Open Shortest Path First routing, Routing Information Protocol version 1, and Enchanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol for LAN network PT.Chevron Pacific Indonesia. The results of this simulation design obtained QOS routing OSPF, RIPv1, and EIGRP, and OSPF routing is obtained that has the best performance seen from the measured parameters.Keyword : Routing Protokol, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, QOS

Abstract

Driving circuit function as a source of voltage to drive an electronic circuit. Source of voltage (power supply) created using the switching mode with Flyback converter topology. Component used as the switch is Mosfet. Time to live (on) and off (off) controlled by the circuit mosfet Totempole to accelerate the process on or off of the switch with a frequency of 50 kHz generated by IC SG3524. Switching mode power supply with Flyback converter topology are made to produce a constant voltage of 87 volts. Abstract

Museum Jalur Kuantan Singingi is a special museum that only contains a collections of historical and cultural heritage of Kuantan Singingi District. Museum Jalur Kuantan Singingi design uses the geometric form transformation concept and primary concern is the inside space and outside space concept of the museum. The inside space and outside space concept of the museum using geometric transformations, combination of architecture Rumah Godang concept and pacu jalur. The concept of space in the museum using the imaginary space concept available on the Rumah Godang. The facades of buildings and outdoor spaces using the combination of the geometric form transformation concept of Rumah Godang and the geometric form of pacu jalur, that’s transforming elements of Rumah Godang to the building design at Museum Jalur Kuantan Singingi. The elements are the roof, wall, window,door, ladder and pole. Abstract

Pacu Jalur tourism is a ethnic tour owned by Kuantan Singingi Regency. Historically Pacu Jalur itself means to unite all the people of Kuantan Singingi with compactness. But it is still not yet optimally in terms of facilities and containers to perform this particular culture, in order to give the impression as well as the meaning and able to entertain as a tourism area. Moving on from the problems, expected the arrangement of tourism area is to be a real solution to support the infrastructure of existing ethnic tour in Kuantan Singingi. The reason of the title above is not maximal utilization of tourism area Pacu Jalur which is a tourism icon of Kuantan Singingi Regency, causing a lack of infrastructure and public understanding of the Pacu Jalur. Reason of traditional architecture theme to increase tourism potential and well communicate about Pacu Jalur through traditional character of Godang House. To realize the concept that in the arrangement is Symbiosis of History and the Present and Symbiosis of Tradition and Modern Architecture, which connects to between the characters of Godang Houses, Pacu Jalur and tourist activity to the Arrangement of Tourism Area Arena Pacu Jalur in Kuantan Singingi. Abstract

As one of the developing cities, Pekanbaru has been done international relations with other countries in economical, social, and political sectors. It also affects the education sector, and therefore it needs the proper tools to facilitate educational activities in Pekanbaru city. The international school is an educational facility that implements an international curriculum in the teaching system, also has been recognized internationally as well as produces Certified International graduates. This international school has applied the principles of eco-architecture with purpose keeping the designed building has more synergy, considering the environment condition. However, in aiming more in specific concept, it applies the concept of “Holistic” which is the combination of the design criteria of ecological design. Holistic in ecological design is aimed at the principles as follows: (1) energy saving; (2) sensitive to climate; (3) eco-friendly. This International School fulfills all the criteria that appropriate with the curriculum also facilities of educational standards and infrastructure nationally as well as the implementation of the concept that is used to create an international school which refers to ecological architecture.Keywords: Pekanbaru as a developing city, Educational Facility, International School, Eco-architecture, Holistic.
