Abstract

Indonesian society are familiar with the art, culture and crafts that suitable with the habits, skills and needs. Tenun songket craft is one of the traditional craft in Riau’s Malay community, which in ancient times were often made by the nobles and only used by the royals. But nowadays, songket has been used by the public and became one of the craft that many tourists hunted as a souvenir of Riau Province. Therefore, riau needs for a place of Tenun Craft Center to preserve the craft from extinction and provide the information of tenun songket craft. Sentra is a small unit area that has a certain characteristic in which there are activities of the production process of a business type that produces a product. Craft is the result of human activity and creativity in the form of art and culture that has developed since long time ago. Tenun craft centers design adopts the Visual Appearance from Traditional Architecture of Malay’s Rumah Kajang and the settlement patterns of Talang Mamak tribes. Abstract

Transport is essential element and function as liaison to the life and development of the economic, social, political, and mobility for population that is growing concurrently and follower the developments in various fields. Terminal is a ground transportation that serves to connect between regions, terminal is also a means for transportation of goods and people in area. The Terminal has an important role in economic development and regional development, because means of transportation facilities will trigger economic growth and regional development. In addition to the economy during this, the Malay culture in Indonesia has not yet been developed and widely exposed as other ethnic cultures. Terminal type B is planned and designed using Malay architecture theme. Reasons for the selection of Malay architectural theme as a backdrop of the location which in the region of Siak and to maintain the Malay culture in Siak district. The existence of a terminal type B with the application of architectural style House Kajang which is focused at building on the Siak Regency. Needs of the community infrastructure that will be capable of Siak liaise with social life, economic life and meet the needs of the Malay design centers which applicated on plan to the station, and make Siak district in meeting the needs of the growth mode of ground transportation.Keywords: Station, Station Type B, Kajang Malay Style.

Abstract

Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (SUH) is the most practical and simplest method in analyzing the flow rate in an ungauged watershed. It only needs the watershed characteristic data such as the area size of watershed and the length of the river. The flow rate data used in many water resource related planning activity such as drainage, water reservoir etc.. Some of the oftenly used SUH methodes are SCS (Soil Conservation Service), Nakaysu, Snyder’s, GAMA-I etc. The concept of Unit Hydrograph with the volume control/ DRO (Direct Run Off) value closest to1mm, is used to determine a proper SUH method to be applied on watershed. In the case study of Tapung Kiri watershed, the proper SUH method to be applied is the Nakayasu’s with the α = 2, and DRO = 0,992. Nakayasu’s is also the proper SUH to be applied in the Tapung Kanan watershed, with the α = 2, and DRO = 0,992.Keyword : UH, SUH, SCS (Soil Conservation Service), Nakayasu, Snyder, DRO, Tapung River

Abstract

A series of meanders of natural river, cause helicoidal force. It’s causes bed erosion and attack the river bank on the outside of meander. The laboratory model used to determine the phenomenon of morphological changes in double meandering river with M = 1,2. The bed of model used Kampar sand with grain size d35 = 0,285 mm, d50 = 0,330 mm and d65 = 0,380 mm and Gs = 2,63. The froude number flow used 0,670 and 0,769, while the Reynolds number used 3081,683 and 4381,188 then it’s classified in turbulent flow. The flow pattern on this double meandering channel cause the establishment of a bed configuration uneven on the channal width, as a result of H0/B < 0.05, so that the phenomenon of helicoidal flow cross the channel does not happen and does not add the velocity on the outside of the bend. The bed configuration is formed to follow the direction of a trend of Umaks or on each side of meander. Sediment transport analysis result prove that the higher Froude number is used the bigger the granules are transported.Key word : laboratory model, morphological changes, helicoidal force, velocity distribution, flow pattern, turbulent flow, basic configuration.

Abstract

One of producing areas of natural sand in Riau province is natural sand from Kampar River, when compared with the existence of stone ash, natural sand is easier to obtained and more economical because it does not have to go through crushing process by stone crusher. In accordance with Specifications of Bina Marga 2010, the use of natural sand for the asphalt concrete mixture (AC) should not exceed 15% of total weight of mixture aggregate. Thus it is important to know the efficiency of using natural sand on the asphalt concrete mixture (AC) to get optimum utilization. This research is to determine the optimum bitumen content (OBC) and the optimum content of natural sand (OCNS) which can be used on the asphalt concrete binder coarse mixture (AC/BC) fine gradation. The fine aggregate variations of natural sand used was 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40% of the total weight of the mixture of aggregate. The additions of natural sand on the asphalt concrete binder coarse mixture (AC/BC) can decrease values of the optimum bitumen content (OBC) and density. An optimum content of natural sand (OCNS) for the asphalt concrete binder coarse mixture (AC/BC) was obtained by additional of 10% natural sand with the optimum bitumen content (OBC) of 6,45% which the value of the stability of 1.745,96 kg. If natural sand is unlimited as in the Specification of Bina Marga 2010, so possibilities on the additional of natural sand on the asphalt concrete binder coarse mixture (AC/BC) is up to 25 % .Keywords: Natural sand, Asphalt Concrete Binder Coarse (AC/BC), Spesification of Bina Marga 2010, and Marshall characteristic.

Abstract

On the bridge connection type found using high strength bolts with the type of slip-critical connections. In the installation of high quality bolt connection types is conducted pretension with using torque wrench or using manual tool by turn of nut. This study aims to determine tensile strength and failure behavior of the critical slip-type connection by varying the value of pretension on single bolt locking connection with different methods. Pretension variation used 90 Tb, 100 Tb and 110 Tb for torque wrench and 2/3, 3/6 and 4/6 rounds for manual tools of pretension respectively.Tensile test performed on each variation and variation locking method. The results showed the tensile strength values at the both locking methods are same and the failure behavior result are the bolt fail in shear and plate changes into an oval shape.Keywords: Pretension, Connection slip critical, high tensile bolt, tensile strength of connection.

Abstract

Tampan regency a districts in Pekanbaru city that is currently growing. Most of the population in the district use ground water for daily need. To observe such condition , mapping of ground water is conducted on the area. This research was intended to identify ground water flow and the availability of ground water in the area of Tampan district in Pekanbaru using Geographic information System (GIS). Survey and measurement is conducted during dry season. The output of the measurement are the coordinate and the elevation of the ground water. Dataprocessing is conducted using GIS based program that yields ground water contour which has been interpolated using Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) and Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) method. The drawing for ground water pattern is conducted by determining perpendicular line with the elevation contour of the ground water. Generally, some part of theground water flowing direction heads into the system and some other parts heads outside of the system (Tampan district). Ground water potential in this area is considered to be available of ground water comes from rain and the ground water itself.Keywords: GIS, TIN, IDW, ground water pattern, availability of ground water.

Abstract

Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) was mandatory for construction company in order to protect stakeholder including workers, staff from work accident. The current study aimed at identification stakeholders perception of Hotel Novotel construction on the implementation of SHMS. Further the result of the study was analyzes by comparing to the score established in the Government Regulation act No 50/ 2012.Data analysis were performed by quantitative and qualitative approach quantitative methodes was conducted on hard defences on 17 staff and 108 workers. In the project of Hotel Novotel Construction. Qualitative analysis was done especially on the expert (head of SHMS). It result that the implementation of SHMS account for 66,57% which categorize into “good” in accordance with Goverment Regulation act No 50/ 2012. Based on interview with expert respondent, the implementation of SHMS on the project had on optimal level. However it was found the inefficient in supervision and fund support on the program of SHMS.Keywords: Application, Implementation, Safety, Health Management System (SHMS).

Abstract

Economic growth in Dumai City induce the business world characterized by the growth of industrial companies in the region. This affects the growth of the property sector, one of which is the increase in demand for office space and facilities. The Rent Office in Dumai is a means by which companies are directed against the run of office management to improve both the economic sector of the company itself as well as the economic territory of the Dumai city. In the design of the Rent Office, design approach emphasizes the design principles of eco-architecture with the aim of building a more designed to work together in an effort to notice the condition of the surrounding environment. But to direct more into the design of this specific concept then applied the concept of "eco-radial" which is the combination concept of ecological design criteria for the design and implementation of a radial pattern to the transformation of the building mass. Ecology has design principles such as: (1) Save energy, (2) Natural Esthetics; (3) Natural aeration; (4) Responsive to the orientation of the Sun, and (5) Humanism. then fitting when in the wake of Dumai in office rents must have criteria that meet the needs of companies in Dumai and also with the application of this concept can realize the rental office that leads to sustainable development (sustainable design).Keywords: Rent Office. Abstract

According to the vision and mission Rokan Hilir Regency which one of them is to prepare self to educational society life, so it need to design a public library which is economical in using the nature resource, minimize the negatif impact, also be able toimproving the human life quality. Library is a space, a part of a building or the building it self which is used to keep books and other derivative which are usually kept according to thecertain formation to be read, not to be sold. The nature phenomenon which is menacing this earth is a global warming. To reduce that impact so we choose the green architecture as the approach in designing the public library. One of them is about the thermal pleasure, by set the site and building mass which can give the thermal pleasure to the user of public library.Because, the thermal is a thermal condition which can be felt by human, not by object, animal, and architecture, but is conditioned by the environment and the objects around thearchitecture or the mind condition of somebody who can expressing his satisfaction to the thermal environment. This public library is presented with the green architecture conceptwhich be expected will be used in this present and the future, for the better continuity of life. The design method which be used in this public library is the six criterion of the Green Building Index (GBI). (1) Energy efficiency; (2) The environmental quality in the space; (4) Material and resource; (5) Water efficiency; (6) Innovation. From the theory and method which be used in this design reaching the conclusion that in the strive to set the site and the building mass as the strive to reach the pleasure, we apply the green architecture in this public library design. To reach the thermal pleasure to the public library user, we do the strive to set the site and mass of the building by applying six criterion of Green Building Index (GBI) from the green architecture.Key Word: Public Library, Green Architecture, Thermal Pleasure
