Abstract

Quality of Service is a mechanism of network that enables applications or service to operate as expected.This journal discusses about the performance analysis of wireless LAN consisting of some parameters i.e.throughput , packet loss , delay , and jitter. Method used in the research was action research. Overall, themeasurement of wireless LAN best average performance at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riauwas obtained in access point Akademika _ 04 at daytime measurement (13.00-15.30) at a distance of 5meters by throughput 383 kbps, packet loss 4 % , delay 96 ms , jitter 19 ms and signal strength -43 dbm. Theworst average performance was obtained in access point Akademika _ 01 at morning time measurement (09.00-11.30 ) at a distance of 20 meters by throughput 110 kbps , packet loss 48 %, delay 433 ms , jitter 72ms and strong signal -67 dbm..Keywords : wireless LAN, Quality of service.

Abstract

To a give reliable service, the power system must remain intact and able to cope with various problems that may occur. Thus is something that is very important to plan a good the when system under normal circumstances and contingency or release of an element, the system remains able to distribute electrical energy in a good state.In this study discussed contingency analysis (loss of one of the elements) on the 20kv power system. Contingency analysis which is based on the release of the transformer. Results analysis is used to look at the critical loading or experiencing overload. From the simulation results ETAP 12.6 is known that while contingency 1 in the substation garuda sakti when the transformer 1 out the transformers 2, transformers 3 and transformer 4 will be overloaded as big as 48.8 MVA, 48.8 MVA and 58.8 MVA. Contingency 4,that is the out of the transformer 4 the transformer 1, transformer 2 and 3 transformer overload of 55.7 MVA, 46.5 MVA and 46.5 MVA. At the substation teluk lembu contingency 2 transformer 4 off the generator 6 will overload 133.5%. contingency 3 out of the transformer 7, the transformer 11 overload 114.3%. Generator 7 and the generator 6 overload 129.3% and 104.7%. To cope the overload then made two solutions that load shedding and connection coupling.Keywords: analysis contingency, reliability

Abstract

Internet network that has been developed at this time is a network architecture based on TCP / IP.Each layer of the TCP / IP on the Internet provides an opportunity for a security hole. One of manyways of closing the security hole is to set the Access Control List (ACL) on the Internetwork layer.ACL is used to permit or deny the package from the host towards a specific purpose. ACL consistsof rules and conditions that determine and define the process network traffic at the router whetherthe package will be passed or not. Methods ACL is created on an existing VLAN network, thusincreasing the security of the network. Results of this research is with implement an ACL can blockinternet sites that can not be accessed by the user in a network. Then by applying ACL on VLAN,the access rights of a user on the network can be segmented, thus reducing the chance of spreading"a network virus" which can make a network busy.Kata kunci : TCP/IP Security, Virtual LAN, DHCP Server, Access Control List

Abstract

Tide height is an important parameter in obtaining the amount of tidal energy by utilizing the potential energy contained in the water caused by the movement of sea water caused tidal. Karimun waters of Riau Island province has a reservoir of 29.69 Ha former tin mining which is directly related to the sea connected by floodgates that allegedly contained the potential for tidal energy is high. Karimun tidal waters that occurs twice ebb tide twice the difference between the highest to the lowest ebb during spring tide reaches 3.8 m while the difference during neap 0.2 m. In the planning of generating tidal power necessary to study potential energy, mechanical energy, in addition to the natural factors that must be considered is the morphology of the beach, water characteristics, topography, rainfall, sea depth and lithology underwater, because it influences the volume of reservoirs, construction field and construction of energy converters. Design of tidal power generation using penstock pipe dimensions of 3.7 m, designed stainless kaplan turbines installed perpendicular coupled to a synchronous generator pole shoe (salient) 39889.7 kW generator power output. Results of analysis of tidal energy potential of an average of 46910.6 kWh in 2013 and average of 46605.4 kWh in 2014. Abstract

Limitations of energy is one of the important issues in the network sensor network (WSN). The energy used for data transmission between sensor nodes. one method to solve this problem is to choose the proper protocol. Many researchers have proposed protocols are energy efficient and have a good data collection mechanisms. One well-known protocol used is directed diffusion (DD). DD is a data centric protocol that also focus in energy efficiency and have a good data collection capabilities. DD good protocol but there are still some weaknesses were found in DD. DD on the implementation flooding (flooding) a request message to a network of sensors and then draw the appropriate message and flooding the request message to the network node number will increase energy usage and network traffic. Cluster or grouping of nodes one way to hold back flooding overhead. Proposed research directed diffusion-based cluster showed increased energy efficiency and reduce traffic congestion in the network of sensors. Based on the results of the analysis suggest that, over the J-Sim simulation showed that directed diffusion-based cluster is able to limit and control the flooding overhead to determine the number of nodes in each cluster efficiently.Keywords : Wireless Sensor Networks, Directed diffusion, cluster, J-Sim

Abstract

Distribution transformer has an important role in the distribution of electric power in a distribution system. So that the transformer can operate with both the condition of the transformer must be in a stable condition. One of the things that can damage the transformer is non-linear load, such as computers, printers, air conditioning (AC) equipment lab in every department and equipment other electronics that may cause harmonic on the network power systems, content of harmonic high can cause a condition of distribution transformer overheats and if not treated immediately will cause transformer life time becomes shorter. This study aimsto determine the harmonic correlation to the increase of temperature on the distribution transformer in the Faculty of engineering University of Riau.Keywords : Non Linear, Harmonic, correlation

Abstract

The main purpose of research is to establish the quantitative hydrology individual scale rain water harvesting to meet water needs in the Middle District of Concong Concong village Indragiri Hilir. The method used is by using auxiliary program Rain Cycle 2 were simulated using community input data roof area (m2), the water needs based on the number of family members (m3/day) and daily rainfall data in a single year (mm / year). The main results of the study was to determine the quantitative hydrology rainwater harvesting to meet the needs of clean water for villagers in the Middle District of Concong Concong Indragiri Hilir ie the percentage of the amount of water which water is met for 3 tanks of at least 50% based on the water needs in 2010 through 2014.Keywords : Rain Water Harvesting, Hydrology Quantitative, Rain Cycle 2, Small Island

Abstract

Availability of fosil fuel cell that is increasingly limited has already global issue in the world, especially Indonesia. This has an impact onrising extraction costs and selling prices to the public. In addition, the emissions produced by during fossil fuels had a devastating impact on the environment. One of the alternative energy to reduce fossil fuel is bio-oil produced from biomass through pyrolysis technology. Pine bark isa potensial biomass to be used as bio-oil material. Until now, this pine bark only regarded as wastes that pollute the environment. Thought pine bark can be used as a source of fuel, because the pine bark has a potential source of energy. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of the ratio impregnated metal of Ni and Mo on NZA catalyst and the ratio amount of catalyst on the yield of bio-oil produced, knowing the value of density, viscosity, acidity and a flash point of bio-oil as well as determine the chemical components in bio-oil by GC-MS method. Pyrolysis bio-oil begins to process the biomass size reduction (-60+80 mesh) and natural zeolite (-100+200 mesh). Metal Ni and Mo was impregnated into the zeolit to form a bimetallic catalyst NiMo/NZA. Then the catalyst was activated by calcination stage, oxidation and reduction pyrolysis using pine bark as much as 50 grams along with 500 ml silinap with variations developing of metal Ni and Mo to NZA without metal (0%), 1%, 2% and 3% b/b and weight variation of NiMo catalyst/NZA 3%, 6% and 9% of the biomass with a stirring speed of 300 rpm and temperature of 320 oC for 120 min. The highest yield of bio-oil obtained by the use of 3% catalyst NiMo/NZA with 6% of the amount of catalyst which is equal to 77,23%. From physic analysis conducted on bio-oil werw obtained: the density is 0,79 g/ml, the viscosity is 9,87 cSt, the acidity is 5,13 mg NaOH/g sample and the flash point 52 oC. Five (5) the dominant compound results of chemical analysis by GC-MS of the bio-oil from pine bark using 3% catalyst of NiMo/NZA with 6% the amount of catalyst: 2-Pentene (21,8%), Pentane (13,71%), 2-Hexene (8,98%), 1-Propene (7,08%) and 1-Pentene (5,03%).Keywords: bio-oil, catalyst NiMo/NZA and pyrolysis.

Abstract

One of the materials that can be used as a component in the manufacture of Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) is a palm frond fibers. Palm frond is one of the solid waste of oil palmplantations and abundant availability has not been utilized optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the ratio of polypropylene (PP) / palm frond fibers and Maleated polypropylene compatibilizer levels of the properties and morphology of WPC. WPC samplesprepared by the method of melt blending between palm frond fibers, PP, Maleated polypropylene (MAPP), and paraffin for 15 minutes at a temperature of 170 ° C and a rotor speed of 80 rpm using Internal Mixer. The size of the palm frond fibers used is 1 cm. While the ratio of the weight of PP/palm frond fibers is 50/50, 60/40 and 70/30 and the addition of MAPP of 0%, 4% and 5%. Testing experiments were prepared to mechanical testing consist of tensile and flexural strength and physical testing consist of density, water absorption, and swelling thickness. Scanning Electron Microscopy was used as a morphology testing. The results showed that the best mechanical properties in a ratio of polypropylene / palm frond fibers (60/40), MAPP (5%), with the value of tensile strength 256.05 kgf/cm2 and flexural strength 598 kgf /cm2.The best physical properties of water absorption at a ratio (60/40) with MAPP (0%) is 0,97%, the density at a ratio (60/40) and MAPP (5%) is 1,07% and swelling thickness at a ratio (50/50) with MAPP (0%) is 0,17%.Keywords: maleated polypropylene, morphology, palm frond fibers, mechanical properties , wood plastic composite

Abstract

The world consumption of bioethanol for a variety of uses has increased very significantly in recent years. Pineapple skin is one of the potential materials to be processed into bioethanol. Availability of food waste material containing glucose as the skin is still fairly abundant pineapple and its utilization is limited only used for fertilizer and animal feed, so it is necessary for utilization of that adds value as well as a fairly high sugar content (13.65 % reducing sugar) makes the skin of pineapple has the potential to be processed into bioethanol. Through the process of fermentation using Zymomonas mobilis, glucose is converted into ethanol and carbon dioxide. Preparation of starter inoculum carried by Zymomonas Mobilis process. Fermentation takes place in batches with a volume of 1 liter of fermentation medium, fermentation time variation of pH 5 2 , 4 , 6 and 8 days and inoculum concentration variation of 5 , 10 and 15 % (v / v). Stirring speed of 200 rpm and temperature of fermentation at room temperature (25o – 30oC). Bioethanol concentration was analyzed by using gas Chromathography Mass Spectroscopy. The process of optimum fermentation conditions shown in inoculum concentration of 10% v / v and 4 days fermentation time. The concentration of bioethanol obtained under these conditions is 43.10 % (v / v) or 23.75 g / ml.Keyword :Bioethanol, Pineapple Peel, Fermentation, Zymomonas mobilis, Liquid State Fermentation
