Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop a traditional game therapy module of congklak, ula, sonda and horse type to improve students' social skills. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) which is limited by several stages. In order to develop a better module in this study, validation tests were carried out by the validator. The data collection technique in this study used a validation questionnaire. The results of this study are that the traditional game therapy modules of congklak, ula, sonda, and horse type have been compiled to improve students' social skills which are divided into 5 guidance activities with a total reading duration± 40 minutes. The result of the module validation test as a whole based on the validator aspect shows that the assessment obtained an average value of 69.92% declared "Good" tested as a guidance medium.Key Words: Module, Traditional Game Therapy, Improve Social Skills

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine the variation of the leafanatomical structure of several types of monocot plants in January- October 2020. Thisresearch was conducted in 2 stages, namely the first stage: analysis of variations in theanatomical structure of the leaves of several types of monocot plants and the secondstage of LKPD design: potential analysis. development of teaching materials for thestructure and function of plant tissue for class XI SMA. This study used the paraffinmethod for leaf anatomical preparations in the Laboratory of FMIPA Biology, RiauUniversity and observation of preparations at the Laboratory of Biology, Study ofBiology Education, FKIP Riau University. The results of the research on the anatomicalstructure of the leaves tasbih ( Canna indica L), jagung ( Zea mays L), kayu apu ( Pistiastratiotes L) and eceng gondok ( Eichornia crassipes (Mart) Solm) showed variations inleaf anatomical structure based on qualitative and quantitative characters. Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to use the detection results of Salmonella sp in broilers as a handout design on the eubacteria concept for class X SMA in August-September 2020. This research was conducted in 2 stages, namely the analysis of the potential development of teaching materials for the eubacteria concept of class X SMA, and the design stage. This research was conducted in the laboratory of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau Pekanbaru. Based on the analysis of the potential research results, it can be used as a handout design on the eubacteria concept of class X SMA. The development of the handout design includes the Analysis and Design stages with a handout structure consisting of cover, introduction (KI and KD 3.5 identifying the structure, way of life, reproduction and the role of bacteria in life, purpose, instructions for use), material description, evaluation questions, and bibliography.Key Words: Salmonella sp, Handout, Eubacteria.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by a phenomenon that appears based on pre-research conducted by researchers in accordance with the reality that occurs in the field which shows that there are still state civil servants who have not implemented discipline in the handsome sub-district office of Pekanbaru City. Based on Government Regulation no. 53 of 2010 article 1 that Civil Servant Discipline is the ability of Civil Servants to comply with obligations and avoid the prohibitions stipulated in statutory regulations and / or official regulations which if not obeyed or violated are subject to disciplinary punishment and disciplinary violation is every word, writing, or acts of civil servants who do not comply with their obligations and / or violate the prohibitions on civil servant discipline provisions, both inside and outside working hours. The formulation of the problem in this study is What is the Community's Perception of the Discipline of the State Civil Apparatus in the Tampan Sub-District Office, Pekanbaru City? This study aims to determine how the community's perceptions of the discipline of employees of the Tampan sub-district office in Pekanbaru City. This research method is a questionnaire, observation, interview and documentation. The population in this study was the handsome sub-district community, amounting to 194,331 people. The sample in this study amounted to 20 people. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the average percentage value of the alternative answers to the dominant respondents was 82.7%, where this range is in the "Very Good" category with the existence in the range 75.01% - 100%. Thus it can be concluded that the Public Perception of Discipline of the State Civil Apparatus of the Head of Pekanbaru City Office is at a Very Good level.Key Words: Community Perception, Discipline

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by development Of the field In science and technology that requires an individual to be able to master it, the results of these effects affect social values and social skills that tend to disappear from society. In other words, it will be more relevent, if social skills have a positive impact on society without being influenced by science and technology. As social beings, the nature of society wants to always develop or change, whether that happens sooner or later affects various aspects, especially the education aspect. This research method is descriptive quantitative, the data collection instrument used by questionnaire consisting of 27 statements. The population in this study were students of the University of Riau. Sampling in this study using Incidental Sampling Technique.Based on the recapitulation in the discussion of students on the implementation of KKN activities, the amount obtained is (39.1%) obtained from the sum of Very Often (SS) + Often (S) which is 6.1% + 33% = 39.1% which lies in the range 25.01%-50%. This shows that the implementation of the Real Work Lecture (KKN) can be categorized as "Not Good". While the formation of student social skills according to the recapitulation in the first part, namely social skills (83%) obtained from the sum of Very Often (SS) + Often (S) which is 21.33% + 61.67% = 83% which lies in the range 75.01-100%. This can be interpreted during the implementation of KKN that in the first part, students' social skills are "Very Good".Key Words: Analysis of social skills, implementation of activities KKN to students of the PPKnstudy program at the University of Riau

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to investigate how existing literature discusses the effect of role play as one of teaching technique on students’ speaking ability. This is a library research project conducted by critically reading eleven journal articles on the use of role play technique for students as the sources of data. The data were analyzed by implementing role play can improve students’ speaking ability. The result of data analysis showed that role play has been proven in the existing literature as a technique that can improve students’ speaking ability. The findings show that the use of role play enables the students to formulate and give them a better opportunity to improve their English speaking ability. It is also proven that role play provides the students a chance to explore different situations of real life and enables them to speak accurately and confidently.Key Words: Role Play, Speaking Ability, Improving, Library Research.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to develop Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri (UKBM) based on Higher-Order Thingking Skills (HOTS) on static fluid basic material that valid. There are 4 static fluid Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri that developed, namely, 1st UKBM is Hydrostatic Pressure, 2nd UKBM is Pascal's Law, 3rd UKBM is Archimedes Law and 4th UKBM is Surface Tension. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D. The data was collected through the UKBM validation assessment sheet which was filled by the validator. The aspects of UKBM that are assessed include aspects of presentation feasibility, content feasibility, linguistic feasibility and graphic feasibility as well as an assessment of HOTS aspects. The results of the validation of UKBM for Static Fluid obtained an average of 3.50. Thus be concluded that the device Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri (UKBM) based Higher Order Thinking Skiils (HOTS) on static fluid basic material was valid.Keywords: Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri (UKBM), Higher-Order Thinking Skills, Static Fluid UKBM.

Abstract

Abstract: Efforts to increase student interest are with interesting learning media, one of which is Leaflet learning media. This study aims to determine the potential of leaflet design in high school learning for class X Protista material. This research was conducted at the Binawidya Campus, Riau University in August-December 2020. This research was carried out with the ADDIE design, namely the analysis and design stages. The analysis stage is carried out by analyzing the curriculum and analyzing the syllabus issued by the 2013 revised 2018 Ministry of Education and Culture. The design stage consists of designing learning tools, in the form of syllabus, lesson plans and designing leaflets consisting of: Cover, Title of Basic Competence / Main Materials to be achieved, Supporting Information, Learning Resources and Assignments and Assessments. Based on the potential analysis, it was found that the leaflet design for Protista class X KD 3.6. and KD. 4.6 can be used as an alternative learning media. Abstract

Abstract: The competencies that must be mastered by biology subject teachersconsist of material knowledge and knowledge in carrying out biological experiments inthe right and correct way. This research is a development research that aims to see howthe quality of the design of manuals and practical videos of food material testing forprospective biology teachers. This manual and practical video were developed from theessential indicators of PPG content knowledge in 2018. The design stages, internalvalidation, trial I and trial II were carried out at the biology education campus of thePMIPA FKIP Riau University department. External validation was carried out atSMAN Plus Riau Province and SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. The quality of the guidebook isassessed from four aspects, namely, format and graphics, language, illustrations andimages as well as content aspects. The quality of the practicum video is also assessedfrom four aspects, namely material aspects, language, video quality, and presentationaspects. The guidebook and practical video produced in this study were validated byfive validators and respectively obtained a mean value of 3,52 and 3,59 with very validcategories. The test results of 20 seventh semester biology students respectivelyobtained an average score of 3,53 and 3,42 in the very good category. This shows thatmanuals and videos of practicum materials on food material testing for biology teachercandidates are appropriate to be used as independent learning resources to strengthenpracticum knowledge.Key Words: Handbooks, Practicum Videos, Food Ingredients Test

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine how effective the Scaffolded Reading Experience Strategy is in teaching students to read descriptive texts. The analysis used in this research was descriptive. The population of this research was all the first year students of SMA N 1 Reteh in the 2019/2020 Academic Year and one teacher. The sample for this research was 34 students from X MIPA 2 class who had been selected by using the cluster-random-sampling technique. A questionnaire and an interview were used to collect data. The questionnaire consisted of 10 statements and the interview consisted of 10 questions. Based on the result of the questionnaire, the mean score is 4.05, which means that the use of Scaffolded Reading Experience influenced by reading activity in the learning process in English class is high. Based on the result of the interview, the teaching outcomes which used the Scaffolded Reading Experience Strategy were good. The teacher said that the Scaffolded Reading Experience Strategy was easy to use and helped the students to understand the descriptive text more easily. Following comprehension, the teacher stated that some of the students could create their own descriptive text, though some students still struggled with writing the text. But after the students asked for re-explanation, the teacher explained again until the students understood a little more. The teacher thought the quality was good. The teacher stated that she would use the Scaffolded Reading Experience Strategy as her first choice in the classroom teaching and learning process and that she would recommend the Scaffolded Reading Experience Strategy to her peers for teaching other subjects.Key Words: Using, Scaffolded Reading Experience Strategy, Reading, Descriptive Text.
