Abstract

This research aims to describe the results of cognitive learning physics students in the teaching and learningcontextual approach in physics education at SMAN 1 Ukui School. The subject matter of effort and energy.The subjects studied were grade science students totaling 19 people, with the number of students 9 men and10 women. Data collection in this research done at the end of the learning process by conducting tests ofcognitive skills. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques include absorbed power, learningeffectiveness, student learning and exhaustiveness learning purposes. Data analysis results showed: theaverage absorbed power is 83.7 % with a good category to the category of effective learning effectiveness.Students studying completeness 94.7 % and 85.7 % completeness of learning goals with comprehensivecategories. Thus, application implementation contextual approach Teaching and Learning ( CTL ) in thesubject matter of effort and energy effectively used to study physics at SMAN 1 Ukui.

Abstract

This action research is aimed to improve learning outcomes of electricity and magnetism subject throughincreased activity of students in preparing for and carrying out presentations on technologies that apply theconcept of electrostatic. Presentation topic is selected in the application of the concept of electrostatic in thetechnology products and natural phenomena that is familiar to students. Subjects were 59 students of PhysicsEducation of Faculty of Education Riau University at semester 6 academic year 2008/2009. This researchuses Kemmis Model with three cycles. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the quality of thepresentation slides are prepared by students which increases each cycle until it reaches reaching the highcategory in cycle-3. Activity of presentation also increased of each cycle despite only reaching into thecategory of middle on a cycle-3. Student learning outcomes are categorized as high. When compared with thelearning outcomes of the previous year, the result of this learning strategy has increased. Meanwhile,students' motivation has increased between before and after learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase the result of student’s learning through using LKS nonexperimen with dynamic of rotation main material. Subject of this research is all students class XI IPA SMAN 12 Pekanbaru period 2008/2009. This research is experimentaly with research plan The static groupRandomized control-group only design, class XI IPA 1 be class control teach by convensional and XI IPA 2be class experiment, which teach by using LKS non-experimen for main lesson dynamic of rotation. Theresult which observe is cognitive domain through essay test. The result of this research show that studentsachievement, learning completeness, and completeness of the purpose class learning higher than classcontrol. It support by signification test between two class, that is the result of physic learning students whichteach by using LKS non-experimen is higher than the result of students learning by using convensional. Itshow from score thitung > ttabel the result thitung = 6,580 than ttabel (76; 0.05) = 1,665.Keyword: student’s achievement, LKS Non-Eksperimen

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase of students' motivation in learning physics Madrasah Tsnawiyah(MTS) students. The subject matter chosen is sound and learning strategy used was talking stick modelscombined with cooperative learning. The research is a quasi-experimental study with a sample of 72 eighthgrade students of MTS Hasanah Pekanbaru, divided into experimental group and control group. Theinstrument used for data collection was a learning motivation’s questionnaire with indicators: attention,relevance, confidence and satisfaction. From the descriptive analysis, it is found out that the students'motivation in studying physics of experimental group is higher than the control group. Inferential analysisshowed that there was significant improvement of students' motivation in learning physics at the 90%confidence level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of learning strategies in acreative-productive aspects of learning physics in psychomotor skills and social skills of students.The subject matter is selected physical quantities and units. Research subjects were 34 students ingrade X3 MAN 1 Pekanbaru. Data collection instrument is a test of learning psychomotor skills andsocial skills of observation sheet. Psychomotor skills tests administered after learning is completedwhile the social skills of students is done by directly observing the social interactions of studentsduring the learning process. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results of theanalysis of data on psychomotor skills learning outcomes of students showed that the averageabsorption was 88.5%, exhaustiveness student learning in the classical 85.3% while thecompleteness of material is 100 %. The results of the analysis of data on social skills showed thatan increase in the number of students who have social skills at each meeting. At the last meeting,otherwise categorized high social skills. Thus, the relevance of creative - productive learningstrategies to learning outcomes psychomotor skills and social skills expressed high so that it can beconcluded that the creative - productive learning strategy is expressed effectively applied toimprove psychomotor skills and social skills class X MAN 1 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the result of students cognitive skill or competent throughan approach of constructivism by learning of physics. The subjects of this research are student class X1, fromSMAN 1 Tambang in academic year 2006/2007. The totals of students are 41 students who are consist of 20men and 21 women. The instrument of collecting this data is about result of student’s cognitive skill.Collecting of this data is in the end of learning process with hold a cognitive skill test. Data will be analyzeby using descriptive analyze with includes are abortive powers, learning effectiveness, completeness ofstudent’s study and completeness of learns purpose. The result of data analysis shows average of student’sabortive power is 75, 5% with good’s category, learning effectiveness is 75, 9% with effective enough’scategory, completeness of student’s study classically is 81, 5% with uncompleted category and completenessof learns purpose classically is 90,9% with complete category. However, approach of constructivism appliesto dynamic electricity material that effective enough for learning of physic in SMAN 1 Tambang.Key words: approach of constructivism, result of cognitive study

Abstract

Abstract: The learning device developed are science learning device based on the POE model to improve the conceptual understanding of seventh grade junior high school students on the material of the solar system, consisting of a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKPD), and Concept Understanding Test Instruments. The purpose of this study was to produce a valid POE-based science learning device and be used to improve students' conceptual understanding of the solar system material. This research is expected to be a reference for making innovative learning device and can be used as a foundation in the teaching and learning process so that learning objectives can be achieved. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model. This research is only limited to the development stage. The research instrument used was the RPP validation assessment sheet, LKPD, and the Concept Understanding Test Instrument used by the validator to assess learning device. Data analysis in this study used descriptive analysis, by calculating the validity score of each indicator of the learning device. The results of the study concluded that the science learning device based on the POE model was declared valid and suitable for teaching in seventh grade junior high school students to improve students' understanding of the concept of the solar system material.Key Words: Science Learning Device, POE Model, Understanding of the Concept, Solar System

Abstract

Abstract: Creative attitude is an important part of creativity by supporting the creative thingking ability. This study aims to analyze the level of students creative attitude in learning science in junior high school. This research conducted on 218 samples of junior high school students in Riau. The questionnaire about students creative attitude which consists of 3 aspects of creative attitude (making, inquiry/experiment and task commitment) and 15 statement items. The result showed that the creative attitude of junior high school students in Riau was in the good category.Keywords: Creative Attitude, Science

Abstract

Abstract : This research aimed to produce an experiment's tools of Faraday symptoms expert and the valid student worksheet. So can be used as a learning media for senior highschool on material of electromagnetic induction. The used research methods are RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT. In this research, the development of experiment's tools just till the validation step of the experiment's tools and student worksheet by several steps.The data was obtained from the validation of 3 lectuters and 2 teachers as validator. The validation was conducted in 2 phases, first phase was improvement and the second was assessment. The aspects which were assessed were the functionally of the equipment Very high category, the learning elements very high category, easiness very high category, esthetic and construction high category, and the safety Very high category. The aspect were assessed from student worksheet were the accuracy of content very high category, presentation prosperity high category, language prosperity high category, demonstration prosperity very high category Overall, each indicator of assessment in every aspect were declared as valid in very high category. In conclusion, faraday's legal trial was declared valid based. So it's feasible and valid to use as physics learning media for senior highschool on material of electromagnetic induction.Keywords : Experiment's equipment of Faraday Law,senior high school physics learning media

Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed to describe cognitive science in physics learning outcomes of students using whole brain teaching strategy on the issue states of matter and the changes. This study was conducted in SMP 29 Pekanbaru for October-December 2015. The subjects of this research were students of class VII2 as control class with conventional learning numbered 42 students and VII6 as a class experiment with whole brain teaching a total of 42 students. This study is pre-experimental design with static design of two groups. Instrument collecting data in this study is a cognitive performance test consists of 20 multiple choice items. The data collection techniques, by the administration of the test after learning. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis that describe the absorption and effectiveness of learning. The results showed that to improve the absorption of the students after the implementation of whole brains learning strategies are 77,14% students categorized good. So that it is effective to improve the students cognive level and can be useed in science learning especially physich subject.Key Words: The cognitive learning, Joyful Learning, Descriptive Analysis, Learning absorption and effectivity
