Abstract

Abstract: Swamp land is land that occupies a transitional position between land and water. Degradation of swamps is currently common, such as fires which result in a reduction in the area of peat swamps. The consideration of the condition of water stored in peat swamps fosters a unique ecosystem with a diversity of endemic living things such as microalgae. This study was conducted to determine the type of microalgae that was successfully identified from the peat swamp habitat of Giam Siak Kecil Bukit Batu Biosphere Reserve which was used in designing Worksheets Students in the kingdom protista class X SMA material, held from January 2019 to April 2019. This study used a method survey by determining the sampling point using purposive sampling technique. The parameter in this study was the identification of microalgae isolates. The research design consists of 2 stages. The first stage is exploratory research: Taking samples of microalgae water for isolation and identification. Abstract

Abstract: The potential source of diversity in the Riau peat swamp ecosystem can still be explored. This research was conducted to know the microalgae community structure from the peat swamp ecosystem of giam siak kecil-bukit batu biosphere reserve (CBGSK-BB) and produce a design of work sheet of students, in July-September 2018. The research method was field data collection with explorative research, while microalgae data collection used the survey method. Sampling of peat water from 3 stations in Temiang Village, CBGSK-BB transition area. Measurement of physical and chemical parameters of the waters, namely light intensity, temperature, and pH. Observation of samples in the Biology Education Laboratory, FKIP University of Riau, for calculating biological parameters (abundance, diversity index, and evenness index). Integrated research data for teaching materials consisted of student worksheet with ADDIE, model, and Analysis. The highest percentage of microalgae species composition was from Chlorophyceae class at 88.63%. The abundance of microalgae in the waters between 55,660 ind/L to 701,800 ind/L, in the classification of mesotrophic waters (medium fertility). The lowest evenness index at Station II worth 0.13 shows that the distribution of individuals is not equal, dominates the dominance of one species, compared to other stations more than 1. The microalgae diversity index reaches 0.18-1.81, the microalgae community changes in the Peat swamp ecosystem of the Village Temiang is at a low to moderate level. The results of the study were developed as a material enrichment in the design of the student worksheet for protista material 1st grade senior high school.Key Words: Mikcroalgae, Peat, Community Structure

Abstract

Abstract : Interesting teaching materials in the learning process are usually printed and illustrated in one of the visual dictionaries. Visual Dictionary is one of the illustrated and constant teaching materials that facilitates learners to understand learning. This study aims to produce a visual dictionary of Biology High School learning using the results of a study on ecosystems in post-fire peatlands. For that reason, a survey was conducted in Rimbo Panjang Village, Kampar District, Riau Province in February - October 2017. Quadratic methods and purposive sampling techniques were applied to gradient fire events 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The paramaeter were observed i.e. type composition, environmental factors and distribution pattern of vegetation. The data were analyzed using Dispers Morista Index descriptively and qualitatively. Based on the results of the research, 32 species and 21 basic vegetation families were found in post-fire peatlands. Distribution pattern of peatland vegetation shows that distribution patterns tend to be more random than clustering patterns. The result of this research can be used for the development of visual dictionary of Class X Biology (KD 3.10). Testing using visual dictionaries generated and the benefits of enriching the learners' learning materials are classically important for further action.
