Abstract

PT. Dewata Cipta Semesta is a company which focused in sawmills, wood products produced in the form of cut (sawn timber) for building’s materials or furniture’s raw materials. The Warehouse system at the company is still very simple and has many weakness that cause some problems in the company such as the difference between the stock and the physical stock in the warehouse as well as the lenght of the process of unloading. Based on observations and data analysis on company, there are some problems that result in differences in stock and phusical as well as the duration of the process of unloading are: the arrangement of goods in the warehouse are not grouped in detail, two warehouses head leads, and grading process is carried out when loading. Warehouse management system improvement is done to minimize the  difference between the stock and the physical stock in the warehouse as well as accelerate the process of unloading the goods. Warehouse management system improvements made are arrange of the raw material warehouse are grouped by type and diameter of the timber , the warehouse material classified by type , grade and size of the timber , making the Standard Operating Procedure for the warehouse staff. For make the system running properly also proposed to appoint only one head of the warehouse so that there is clarity on the duties and responsibilities of the warehouse.

Abstract

The operational cost to operate paddle wheel with generator at PT X is very high; for daily shrimp cultivation each farm need 14 paddle wheels that use 24 hours electricity from the generators. Thus an experiment was conducted to minimize the number of paddle wheels operated. Naturally, pond water contains phytoplankton that carries photosyntesis to produce oxygen at noon. Photosyntesis processes need carbon dioxide to turn to oxygen at noon, on the other hand paddle wheel also need the carbon dioxide in the pond and turn it into oxygen. Thus the two are conflicted. Turning off the paddle wheels at noon then increase the photosynthesis process, make it more effective. The experiment results show that turning off paddle wheel at noon did not affect oxygen supply and the average weight of the shrimps.

Abstract

PT. Bondi Syad Mulia is a company which provides galvanized for iron. Based on the observation, there is an issue on placing and storing the goods in the warehouse. This research is to solve the problem by re-organizing the layout and placing the label in warehouse division in PT. Bondi Syad Mulia. The proposed layout covers the arrangement of goods in the warehouse of materials and tools by considering the FMS classification. The improvement on labeling system was done by labeling of goods and a place for storing goods. The momen result of the proposed layout was reduced by 34,25%. After labelling was placed, the result showed that there was 10 second reduction on taking the files and 30 second reduction on taking the goods from the rack.

Abstract

Rumah Potong Hewan (RPH) is a place where do slaughter animals for food. Consumer demand for quality piece of meat made RPH must pay attention to the production process. Standardized work and quality plan is needed for the resulting product had a high quality, especially piece of meat. Standardized work and quality plan is not end until RPH, but also transportation and display at traditional market. Improvement methods used in this research is the method of Standardized work, quality plan, and fishbone diagram. This improvement will be supported by the establishment of some standardization work in order to maintain sustainable improvements in the future.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the compliance system of the reliefs through Indonesia aid agencies. Reliefs can be assembled and deployed from the government, private, and community. Logistical support needed for disaster management. Support logistical support should be on time, precise location, target, good quality, enough quantity, and needed. This research used interview method to the BPBD, PMI, and the private sector (KSR) and distributing questionnaires to 101 respondents to identify the communitys involvement in the current disaster management system. Results from this study indicate that the compliance system of the goods through disaster management agencies still lack involve the private sector and community involvement in disaster management at the program is still lacking. The current system is still considered less troublesome and won the trust of the public. The private sector is still less involved in this system, whereas the private sector is a party that can assist humanitarian organizations that exist today to meet their needs. One of the private parties who may be involved is KSR University

Abstract

Improvements layout on the sheet metal 1 department at PT. MCP held 45.89% due to backtracking that occurs when the operator does the production process. This improvement layout is built to match better layout for PT. MCP. The method used is the method of calculation of the moment without any cost calculation. Total moment of initial layout is 1,785,988.5. Improvement facility layout on sheet metal 1 department uses two methods. 2-Opt and CRAFT are both the methods. Calculations for 2-Opt method does not produce a total of better moment than the moment of the first layout, but the percentage of backtracking decrease to 38.95%. 2-Opt layout still can not be applied to the real situation because the moment is used as a reference. Otherwise total moment of CRAFT method generate better moment than the moment of the initial layout that is equal to 1,656,291.8 and percentage of backtracking also decreased to 23,69%. Layout CRAFT produced by the method can be applied to the real situation in the department of sheet metal 1 PT. MCP.

Abstract

PT. X is a company that processed log wood into timber products with size, type of wood, and the shape of the profile are produced depends on the buyer’s order. The company needs the process with a machine that can work continuously without any obstacle in order to meet the demand. Moulding machine in PT. X has downtime with an average 13,22% which the company want to reduce it. The main cause of downtime on the moulding machine is the changeover and breakdown. How to reduce changeover time is by using the method of Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) and reduce frequency and time of the breakdown by making preventive maintenance schedule based on the MTTF value. The proposed improvements to reduce changeover time is doing some activities before the machine stops, making a new storage for tools and ring, and do the parallel changeover. The proposed improvements using the method SMED when applied can reduce changeover time with an average decrease in time estimation of 33,26%. Preventive maintenance schedule on the moulding machines based on the simulation results within a year can reduce downtime due to breakdown with an average of 57,55%.

Abstract

This paper discusses the abnormality in dandori process and improvements to overcome it. Dandori is a process of changing mold or material during the production. Lately, dandori process at PT. Astra Otoparts Tbk. still experienced abnormality such as material unreadiness, lack of facilities and infrastructure, and long barrel washing process. This research aims to reduce the preparation time and processing time of dandori and line stop. Quality control circle was used as the main method to design the improvements. Improvements are supported by some work standardizations for maintaining continuous improvements. The implementation of the improvements result in reducing dandori total time by 23 hours per month or 10,7% and average dandori time per process is reduced by 6,9 minutes or 17,6%. Material heating line stop reduced by an average of 15,5 hours per month or 35,8%.

Abstract

PT Sumber Rubberindo Jaya is a company that produces motorcycle tires. This company has implemented occupational safety and health but with limitation in providing personal protective equipment. Currently, some export customers require occupational safety and health as a condition of export. Therefore this research is to improve the occupational safety and health in the company. HIRARC method is used to analyze the safety and health of the company. The result shows 24% activities are categorized as low risk, 48% are categorized as moderate risk, 28% are categorized as high risk. There are 8 moderate risk activities from all areas and 9 high risk activities from raw materials, mixing, cutting, building drum, curing. Proposed improvements are given to fixing the floor, giving personal protective equipment (safety shoes, helmet) and safety sign, the path the forklift and various other things.

Abstract

PT Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam-Plant Electro Mechanic is a company that produce electrical parts. Changeover time on some bench in production floor are very high, That’s why it needs to be reduced and improved. The method that will be used are Single Minutes Exchange of Dies (SMED) This project started with observing all machine on production floor, and after that some machine will be chosen to be improved. Changeover time data will be taken from this chosen machine, and this data will be analyzed with SMED. The result from SMED data will become suggested improvement for each machine. Suggested improvement that able to straightly be done will be directly implemented to target machine.Improvement on bench Auto Tampo Print was able to reduce the changeover time by 47%. Estimate improvement on bench Printing Body XB7-2nd Life should be able to reduce the changeover time by 75%. Estimate improvement on bench Manual Checker should be able to reduce the changeover time by 44%. Estimate improvement on bench Coil Winding and Testing MARSILI should be able to reduce changeover time by 18%. Estimate improvement on bench Coil Winding DETZO should be able to reduce changeover time by 7.4%.
