Abstract

Abstract: The study was conducted at the workshop heavy equipment in manufacturing company of paper. The workshop was not yet fully implemented the quality management system ISO 9001:2008. The result of initial gap analysis showed that the workshop implemented only 12.5% of requirements of Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008. This research aims to design quality management system with make quality documents for the Audit, according to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. The increase is 75% after the quality management system document was designed.

Abstract

DIVo is one of media that share information for students in Petra Christian University. The current version of DIVo use television as media for sharing information, and later, DIVo 3.0 will use mobile unit and wall mount. DIVo 3.0 will be distributed in 39 place, 31 of those are mobile unit. This study was conducted to determine the suitable layout design for DIVo so the information provided in the mobile unit DIVo can be clearly understood by students.Literature study and experiments were done to determine the details that should be used for Divo 3.0. Design of experiments was used to determine factors which are affecting the clarity of information. Factorial design is used as experiment design method and location for experiment is in 2 area in P building that categorized in different luminance. The experiment results showed that zoning, time of display, and colour combination of running ticker affects the clarity of information significantly. The best combination that gives the best clarity of information is using 1 main content area and 1 running ticker area, displayed for 10 seconds. White font in black background running ticker with speed rate 60 words per minute make the running ticker can be read clearly.

Abstract

The Manufacturing Process Laboratory is used for Manufacturing Process Practicum for students of Mechanical Engineering Study Program and Industrial Engineering Study Program. The problem faced by the Manufacturing Process Laboratory is that the laboratory is still not clean, has not been well organized and has not yet cultivated the 5S method, so that operator performance cannot be maximized. Efforts that can be made in improving laboratory performance are by cultivating the 5S method, namely sorting, structuring, cleaning, maintenance, and civilizing. The design and implementation of 5S carried out in this Final Project is to clean the laboratory, tidy up the equipment in the laboratory, make a storage place for equipment and make 5S aids in the form of hygiene posters, 5S posters, and 5S videos. The final results of the implementation of 5S laboratories become cleaner, neater, and more convenient to use and work activities run better.

Abstract

PT X is a multinational company engaged in producing animal feed. The purpose of this Final Project is to apply HACCP for the company. HACCP system is applied on behalf of basic principles of HACCP that is doing hazard analysis, determining Critical Control Point, determining Control Limit, monitoring system, corrective actions, verification procedures, and documentation formation. The result of the HACCP designer for PT X is that nothing inedible nor hazardous is included in the CCP, yet there is still in OPRP. The danger that contains in the OPRP is the danger of aflatoxin contamination in the packing process. The embroidery hazards already have a PRP which is a basic requirement used by people who want to eliminate the hazard. The dangers of aflatoxin contamination included in the OPRP will be determined by Control Limit, monitoring systems, corrective actions, verification procedures, and documentation formation.

Abstract

PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia is a vehicle manufacturing company which produces Toyota brand car. The company is expanding and has a goal to reach an annual production volume of x vehicle unit in 2017, will needs an adequate human resources to achieve the goal. Human resources Division, especially Manpower Planning Section is responsible to any matters or issues related to manpower needs inside the company. In doing the duties, MPP faces some challenges in constructing Direct labor Manpower Planning and maintaining Employee Requisiton Process. Toyota Business Practices method is used to solve the problems.MPP Section is responsible to construct an accurate manpower planning to estimate the manpower needs in FY 15/16. Accurate planning can be constructed by considering all factors that are related and using the right business assumptions. Problems faced in Employee requisition Process is Kanban form for replacement manpower is submitted late to MPP Section, and it reach 34% of total Kanban form received in a period. Improvements that has been done is to construct an annual placement schedule, construct an enrollment monitoring sharefolder, construct a new enrollment form, standardize the Employee Requisition Process and construct SOP to fill the Kanban form. These improvements reduced the number of late Kanban form submitted to MPP Section to 14%.

Abstract

The design of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and OPRP (Opera­tio­nal Pre Requisite Program) systems conducted at PT. X is implemented to maintain and in­crease customers’ trust. The design of these systems for chicken feed in the area of feed mill is the process of raw materials acceptance, raw material storage, production, and product sto­rage. The design of HACCP and OPRP systems used seven principles of HACCP. There is a da­nger in OPRP such as Aflatoxin contamination at finished product in the packing area. How­ever, there is no such danger in CCP (Critical Control Point). The design is verified by confirm de­sign to the departments that contribute in the area of feed mill. The verification result revels that it is a good design and documented in the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) of Quality Control De­par­te­ment at PT. X.

Abstract

Currently, the system of car order at PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PT TMMIN) is not flexible. The orders must be fixed 2 months before their production month (firm order). PT TMMIN gives customer a privilege for changing their grade after firm order or Weekly Order Change (WOC). In this paper, WOC is applied for product Etios. The application of WOC is done in Global Production Planning System (GPPS) by changing the system. It is used to make the orders more flexible after firm order. This application impacts on unique import part as well and requires 10 percent additional safety stock allocation. Additional safety stock needs additional inventory cost as much as Rp 6XX million rupiahs.

Abstract

Current workshop layout of PT. Aweco Indosteel Perkasa is not optimal. Therefore workshop layout improvement is needed. The improvement indicator which is used is moment without considering the cost. Total moment of initial layout is 64.630. The improvement using two improvement methods, they are 2-Opt and CRAFT. Moment of improvement layout using 2-Opt method is 61.584. Meanwhile, moment of improvement layout using CRAFT method is 47.511. Besides that, moment of improvement layout based on company’s provisions is 57.855. The best improvement layout is resulted from CRAFT method. But, the selected layout improvement need to be adjusted again with the company’s provisions. The final moment of selected layout is 55.550.

Abstract

One of the problems that occur in PT X and used in this thesis is an idle problem that happened in one of the production lines. Based on observation idle problem occurred at the final assembly process. This idle lead to a work in progress accumulation. This problem cause the operator in the electric process can not process further because the electric operator did not receive any input from the final assembly. 5 why analysis then used on the production line at final assembly and packing. Further analysis found the idle problem at the final assembly is happened because of material shortage from sheet material line material. The Pareto chart shows a material shortage problem occurred by an idle that is happening at turret punching machine because of the frequency of machine shutdown. The root cause of the main problem then analysis further with the fishbone diagram. Every problem that arises from the fishbone diagram is given with a suggestion so the duration of the idle because of the machine shutdown that happened at turret punching machine can be lower. Every suggestion then sorted by their priority with the CARL method.

Abstract

In 2017 PT X Surabaya got a delay problem up to 49 times in Extrussion Blow Molding (EBM) department, therefore a research was conducted to identify causes of the delay. This research used quantitative approach by using one of seven basic tools, which is Cause and effect diagram as a tool for analyzing the cause of the delay. Data that used in this research is the internal data from PT X Surabaya, which are Daily Production Report of 2017 and 2018 (January – March), COOIS data of 2017, resume CS data of 2017, and latest Routing data of 2018. PT X Surabaya especially the production of EBM has four types of wasting time, they are waste waiting, waste waiting, waste excess processing, and waste defect. The result of this research is there are several causes of the delay that has percentage of contribution in PT X Surabaya which are Downtime (15.8%) that caused by worn out machine breaker, overheated machine temperature, color of product got mixed with other colors of old material, change of machine setting, tools crashed the mold continuously, and replacement tools not available. Speed gap (8.9%) caused by the hot room temperature, untighten clamping, worn out machine breaker, machine’s high temperature, and unbalanced machine carriage. Reject (4.9%) caused by the unclosed machine hooper, uncleaned machine barrel, overheated machine temperature, and mixer machine used to mix materials was dirty.
