Abstract

Currently, support function units of PT.SEMB cannot reach their target of performances.Therefore, in this research PT SEMB attempts to evaluate the causes of it. Work samplingmethod is applied for three of support function units. The result shows the proportion ofthe team leader’s, line inspector’s, and line trainer’s value added are 75.04%, 78.16%, and84.19%, respectively. The highest proportion of non value added activities is movement. It occurssince PT.SEMB doesn’t have a working guidance. The proposed improvements are designing achecklist, job rotation procedure, and the guidance for reviewing a job description. The implementationresult shows the proportion of the value added for team leader and line inspector are85.88% and 84.98%

Abstract

Proses administrasi karyawan baru di PT X adalah sebuah proses yang panjang dan kompleks untuk merekrut karyawan baru. Pihak manajemen merasa bahwa proses ini kurang efisien dan mengonsumsi banyak waktu dari departemen Human Resources (HR) di PT X. Inefisiensi proses ini memiliki dampak lanjutan bagi proses-proses terkait dan berujung pada rendahnya customer satisfaction. Metode Value Stream Mapping dibutuhkan untuk menganalisa keseluruhan proses rekrutmen dan membuat proses ini menjadi proses yang lebih lean. Metode Value Stream Mapping yang dilakukan berhasil meningkatkan efisiensi proses rekrutmen dari segi lead time sebesar 62% dan berhasil mengurangi 85% aktivitas non value added.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the leading cigarette manufacturers in Indonesia. It has four type of warehouses there is spare part, DIM, clove and leaf. The company is continuously improving and increasing its working quality by examining the waste. The Value Stream Mapping is the concept in the Lean Manufacturing to examine the waste. Two number of waste are identified inside the spare part warehouse. They are transportation and waiting waste. From the waste analysis, the transportation waste could be reduced to 39.98%, 49.71%, 100% and waiting waste could be reduce to 70,34%. Transportation and waiting waste are also identified inside the DIM warehouse. From the waste analysis, they could be reduced to 50.05% and 100%. There is only one waste identified in the clove and leaf warehouse, there is over processing and inventory, respectively. From the waste analysis, the waste could be reduced as much as 50.5% and 100% respectively.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company engaged in filter industry in Indonesia, the study was conducted at PT. XYZ which focuses on the Production Department. The Production Departement has an important role in producing filters. The Production Department often experiences difference in inventory between the actual stock and the administrative counting system. The difference in inventory between the actual stock and the administrative counting system is called variant. This study will focus on variants that often occur in materials RM3100-0250P. The target that needs to be achieved is to avoid the occurrence of variants in the material RM3100-0250P. Repairs need to be done at PT. XYZ to avoid variants in the material RM3100-0250P.Improvement and processing of data that need to be used in this study is to use the help of applying six sigma with the DMAIC method. The DMAIC method will assist in research by conducting a search for the root of the problem and making improvements from the root of the problems that have been found. The tool that will be used to identity the root cause is to use the help of fishbone diagrams. Fishbone diagrams will help research to be able to correct any problems that arise up to the roots so that problems that occur become increasingly well controlled. The problem that needs to be improved is the material part and method. Material improvement that needs to be done is to determine the BOM standard material RM3100-0250P. The improvement that needs to be done on the method is to make the standard work steps appropriate for the problem reject in the administrative counting system.

Abstract

PT. Sari Mas Permai is a company that produces cooking oil from coconut fruit and also palm coconut. Plant 1 located in PT. Sari Mas Permai has lots of manual machinery and applying breakdown maintenance. This system makes more workload due to unplanned breakdown. Suggestion for company is designing new job desc, early spare part production, and applying preventive maintenance using MTTF for each component. New job desc could decrease repair time to 137 minutes. Preventive maintenance plans for long axel and drig laker, need to be replaced every 15 and 62 days.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the field of shoe industry. One of the production lines of PT XYZ has a target capacity of 180 pairs per hour and the target will be raised to 252 pairs per hour. This increase requires additional operator and also improvement on material procurement. The addition of the required operator on the injection section is 8 operators. The operator in the finishing section requires a total of 34 operators. Improvements that need to be made on the material procurement system from warehouse picking to production line is on the trolley transport system and the addition of 1 operator assistance for warehouse picking. Transportation system initially done every 60 minutes once become every 41 minutes once to archieve 250 pairs target per hour. The problem that exist in the material procurement system is on the procurement of socklining material. There is often a case lack of socklining from the procurement of the material. This problem is analyzed using DMAIC and Fishbone Diagram to determine the root causes. The result of the analysis indicate the occurence of the problem is on the sizing process done in Warehouse Picking. The suggestion given is to oversee the sizing process and provide checksheets to facilitate the process of checking suitability of the amount of material when sizing process done.

Abstract

PT. X, one of the leading tobacco companies in Indonesia, needs competent and good quality of human resources to achieve their goal. PT. X has an Operation Training Department. This department is responsible to provide trainings for the operators, production technicians (prodtech), and mechanics. Therefore, training modules based on Best Training Practices (BTP) method is needed. There are four training modules that have been developed and three training modules that have been revised on the secondary processing plant. The four modules that have been developed were PACKER F Training Module for Operators, PACKER F Training Module for Prodtechs, PACKER F Training Module for Mechanics and MAKER M Training Module for Mechanics. The three modules that have been revised were Basic Training Module for Mechanics, MAKER P Training Module for Operator, and MAKER P Training Module for Prodtech. The training modules that were constructed will help training processes going well and improve the employees’ performance.

Abstract

This research was conducted a voyage company in Surabaya. The aim of this research is to find the waste in shipping service’ processes, i.e. waiting time, loading and unloading. The ships are departure from Tanjung Perak Port. The Current condition showed that there are many waste such as big waiting time, low productivity on terminal, and delay the ship departure. We used value stream mapping to analysis those processes. As the result, we suggest to the company for using software, change work system unloading, and merge some activities, so that the unnecessary non-value added work can be reduced.

Abstract

PT Insera Sena is a bicycles manufacturing company. The Insera produces various types of bicycle, e.g., urban, mountain, road, shop, junior and any others. Each type of bicycles has each own specification and needs specific type of spare-parts. These numerous types of spare-parts raise a problem in inventory, so called, dead-stock. To solve this problem, we need to find the common part, i.e., a part that can be used for several bicycles specifications. The common part is defined based on the requirement and frequency of each part. In this study, requirement is defined as the rate of a part being used in bicycles production within 15 months. While, frequency is defined as the number of bicycles’ variations that uses one type of part.  Hereafter, we use K-Medoid clustering based on those two measurements to class the common parts. The type of parts that we cluster, particularly are the bottom bracket, chain wheel, front derailleur, rear derailleur, shifters and sprocket. As the result, the proposed method can reduce 162 parts (34%).

Abstract

PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Feedmill Balaraja is a company that engaged in the manufacture of animal feed. The probelm that faced by PT Charoen Pokphand  Indonesia Feedmill Balaraja they have not applied the concept of 5S in packing area. Stuff, tools and machines in packing area have not been neatly arranged, so it will make difficulty for operators or workers in finding something they need. This thesis will be used for helping in design and implementation the concept of 5S in PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Feedmill Balaraja packing area. The purpose of this thesis is to create a neat work area, so it will facilitate operators or workers in their activity.
