Abstract

VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) is a cost reduction activity, embedded in ECI (Engineering Change Instruction) documents. VA/VE is done by eliminating or replacing parts to obtain lowest production cost, in accordance with the goals in Toyota Production System, which is the lowest cost with muda elimination. VA/VE idea is recorded in ECI documents that contain standard changes in parts usage. VA/VE ideas can come from TMMIN itself, suppliers, designers, and other Toyota affiliates countries. Problems occur in four VA/VE ECI in 2017 with the idea from TMMIN are costs rising and implementation delays. Problem analysis is done by using fishbone diagram tools. Improvements were made by adding activities, which are determination of implementation targets and export impact checks. Improvements are poured into DFD and Ji Kotei-Kanketsu for guidance of new activity. New activities need to be controlled and reviewed on a regular basis for continuous improvement in accordance with the Toyota Way's philosophy. The impact of improvement is expected to eliminate waste defect and delay, and prevent the occurrence of rework costs Rp38,568,000.00 per ECI (not including the opportunity loss to implement the cost reduction).

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the feasibility of OPP plastic Company establishment at Sidoarjo. The research consists of market aspect, technical aspect, legal aspect, and financial aspect. Data collection for market analysis is obtained from three plastic stores at Surabaya and interview method is used to get to know the competitor condition. The forecasting result in technical analysis is used as the input to find out the number of the folding and sealing machine. The number of machine is used to calculate how many operator the company should hire. After that, legal analysis is to know the legality of company establishment. The company requires initial investment Rp.670,693,900.00 and will reach break even point after 49 months with the 5 years internal rate of return 16.1%. Hence, this study is feasible by considering the market aspect, technical aspect, legal aspect, and financial aspect.

Abstract

PT. X is one of the industrial company engaged in the field of construction materials, especially nails and iron materials with products such as wire nails, nail, bendrad, iron pieces, tacks, self drilling screw, drywall screw and low, medium and high carbon . Condition of PT. X does not have a Business Continuity Plan (BCP), where the BCP is a process of making a plan to identify and assess the risks that can occur to an organization that can anticipate the termination of business activities. BCP can help PT. X to keep running its business processes under any circumstances so as to prevent the occurrence of termination of business processes. The purpose of this design is designing the BCP document in accordance with the conditions of the company today with no restriction does financial analysis, design Contingency Plan (CP) and the results are more focused on the design of disaster-related incidents / accidents that may occur. BCP design process at PT. X is divided into four stages. The first stage is to collect data in the form of a list of interview questions, collect the necessary corporate documents and seek guidance in designing the BCP in the form of ISO 22301: 2012. The second stage is to process data in the form of interviews and company documents that have been collected as the basis of BCP design and guidance of ISO 22301: 2012 to determine what documents need to be arranged in BCP design. The third stage is compiling BCP team, Emergency Response Document, Crisis Management and Communication Document, Business Recovery Document and Overview Document. The BCP team was formed to determine the responsibilities and authorities in carrying out the BCP design and to plan the actions that need to be taken in the face of the incident. Emergency Responsedocument is used to determine management measures and anticipation when the incident occurred. Crisis Management and Communication document is used to determine further treatment after the incident occurred. Documents Business Recovery is used to determine who carried out during the recovery process. Overview document used to facilitate the passage of the BCP in the form of an introduction, purpose, commitment and responsibility and authority to run the BCP.

Abstract

This study discuss about XCSPA product’s work cell with lean problem WIP after curing process with the maximum location capacity 2640 pieces. Quality issue with main problem contact resistance has resistance value above 25 mΩ, will impact to product function. This study objective is doing improvement to work cell with Lean Six Sigma Method, for improve lean problem and quality issue. In this research, DMAIC is used to solve the problem, however we did not discuss the Improve step. Value Stream Mapping tool used for knowing value added and non-value added process with improvement opportunity. Quality tool using Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for finding cause of problem and potential problem can be happened in XCSPA Work Cell. Reduction of WIP by rearrange WIP quantity between process that will reducing about 85.49% WIP quantity from VSM current state WIP quantity. Quality issue eliminated by change and modify production process. Eliminate quality issue will impact to CNQ reduction for the reject product. Target achievement stated has accomplish that was reduction of PLT from contribution of WIP reducing, otherwise MDR, PRR still can’t be monitored. There’s 26 improvement suggestion, with 11 suggestion done, 7 suggestion in progress, 5 suggestion not yet implemented, 3 suggestion aborted.

Abstract

This paper discusses about the change of yoke line system production. Yoke line production uses push system, which is DPS (Daily Production Schedule) and assembling line process uses pull system, which is kanban. Pull system and push system in one flow process can cause problem in inventory fluctuation. The goal of this research is to change the production system yoke machining at PT Inti Ganda Perdana from current sistem DPS into kanban system. This change is done by using Part Information Flow Chart (PIFC) to illustrate the production flow and the formulation to compute the circulation of kanban population each month. The use of kanban cards will make yoke line production  become pull system

Abstract

PT. X produces circuit breakers. The raw material inspection process problem is material breakout does not with standard in the production process. These problems affected the inspection accuracy level which is conducted by Quality Control Incoming subdepartment. This research aims to increase the accuration level of the inspection. Analysis using stratification, Pareto diagram, and the cause-effect diagram that shows the biggest problem on visual inspection. The proposal that is proposed and has been tested is a standardization sampling box. The application of the proposal svheme resulted in increasing in April 2016, that is no material break-out. The same result were also achieved in May and June 2016.

Abstract

The aim of this research is improving the work facility of cable cutting process at PT. InseraSena. The work facility for cable cutting process is not working effectively and it causes cleaning process that should not be needed. The second problem is the cable placement area is to big. Facility improvement which had been done is improvement of cutting tool of cable cutting process by using cutoff machine and design of cable placement shelf. As a result of facility improvement is cable cutting process which not requiring any cleaning are 96 from 100 cables. It is also decrease the average cutting time by 35%. Improvement of cable placement shelf resulting in a decrease of cable placement area which was 220 cm x 110 cm and now become 50 cm x 110 cm

Abstract

PT. X is a body bus company. Line balancing analysis aims to determine the cause of delay and balance the process time between the production processes so that it can be known that the distribution of work elements is good. Line efficiency assesses whether the distribution of work is good. Standard time calculation is used as a basis for analyzing the causes of delay. The design improvements proposed are estimated to reduce the overall work time to 36.9% or 262 minutes where overtime is not needed in certain parts. Design improvements also see overall line efficiency of 92% where the distribution of work elements is feasible. The improvements made are to increase improvement tools, distribute workers, and propose for supporting production so that production can run smoothly.

Abstract

This research is conducted at Payroll Services Department PT. X. Payroll Services Department is responsible for making payments and employment insurance claim to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, one of them is Work Accident Insurance. Work accident insurance claim process is divided into three processes: reporting, medical claims, and work accident settlement, where each process has problems that can cause the company loss and additional efforts to be done by Payroll Services. Proposed improvements are provided to improve each process.Proposed improvement for work accident reporting is work accident report form repair, which after implemented successfully shorten the input data time by 150 seconds or decrease 51.5%. Proposed improvement for medical claim is to make improvements in the online system to prevent mistakes made while making a claim. This improvement is expected to prevent company's loss of Rp27,236,074, and potential company loss of Rp90,595,724. Proposed improvements for work accident settlement are adding information on emails and improvement on online systems in order to automatically submit unfinished work accident data. The proposed improvement are expected to prevent potential company loss of Rp 443,755,664. Not all of the proposed improvement can be implemented, because PT. X is currently conducting vendor changes to create online system for HRD Department.

Abstract

PT.Lima Jaya is a company that engaged in the field of steel and metalworks. Currently, this company wants to build a new company that specialized in wiremesh production. Therefore, this research tries to design their facility layout for minimizing moment. Three algorithms are applied in order to get the best result. The algorithms are corelap algorithm, aldep algorithm, and blocplan algorithm. The result shows that the blocplan algorithm gives the best result with the moment 13579,4.
