Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturing company engaged in the manufacture of heat exchangers. PT XYZ has a make to order demand fulfillment strategy with large product variations. The existing production process at the company consists of several lines, one of which is the SS-CS line. SS-CS line has a bottleneck in one of the processes, which is welding process. The welding process itself is done by welder and welding preparation operator. The number of welders and welding preparation operators is considered unbalanced, causing a bottleneck in the welding process. The purpose of this research is to find the optimal number of welder and welding preparation operator so that the welding process no longer having bottleneck. The optimal number of welder through calculation result and simulation is 16 people while operator welding preparation is 7 people. The output produced with the optimal number of workers can reach more than 2 times the original condition. The average utility of both types of workers is over 90% and is almost balanced with a 5.98% difference. By implementing this proposal, the company can save Rp. 504,523.90 per month in terms of not needing anymore overtime costs that have been issued and the salary addition of workers to be issued.

Abstract

PT. X is a industrial machinery company who supply their products to other companies of PT. X parent company. PT. X is currently experiencing major problems in terms of overload capacity and loading estimates are less accurate. This study aims to resolve both of these issues, which can lower the actual loading and improve the accuracy of loading estimation. Repairs carried out by estimating the reduction in loading by reducing the categories of working hours of others. A decrease in working hours of others are able to lower the actual loading is estimated at 24.23% in 2014 and 19.64% in 2015. The real proposal given itself are focus on improvement in the design department. Estimates loading then also carried out after fixing the actual loading conditions. Estimates loading at PT. X itself are having a great error when compared with the actual loading of existing, which amounted to 62.84% in 2014. Improvements loading estimation is done by using optimized manhour quota where uncertainty weight is the most important thing to its result. The resulting error rate amounted to 32.23% for the project loading, 9:48% for the total loading, and 6.78% for the total loading with repairs.

Abstract

Tugas akhir melakukan perancangan proses produksi perusahaan yang meliputi lingkungan, bangunan, fasilitas, karyawan, dan manajemen perusahaan. Diawali dengan membuat Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) untuk mengidentifikasi hazard yang ada, dilanjutkan dengan peracancangan berdasarkan standar CPMB. Perancangan  yang dilakukan seusai dengan tahapan proses produksi mulai dari bahan baku (air) hingga distribusi produk akhir (tube ice).Hasil Perancangan, HACCP  ditemukan 9 titik kendali kritis dan dilakukan pemantuan. Temuan titik kendali kritis juga akan menjadi dasar perancangan CPMB. Hasil CPMB, terdapat beberapa fasilitas yang baru, maupun yang diperbaiki. Perbaikan-perbaikan manajemen dilakukan dengan cara membuat 14 SOP dan 14 form rekaman yang bertujuan untuk menyesuaikan dengan standar CPMB. Hasil perancangan, Sebagian besar perancangan dapat diterapkan dan sebagian belum dapat diterapkan karena keterbatasan waktu.

Abstract

PT. X is one of company that concerns with continuous improvement.  PT. X attempts to apply the concept of lean manufacturing in order to identify waste. Value stream mapping is one of the tools from lean manufacturing that can illustrate the entire process and identify waste ranging from the arrival of raw materials to the delivery of finished goods. Value stream mapping will be carried out at PT. X for department A. Through the current state value stream mapping can be seen that there are some waste in PT. X for department A ranging from the arrival of raw materials to become finished goods, among others is waste motion, over-processing waste, defect waste, inventory waste, and waste waiting. Design of future state value stream mapping is based on the proposed improvement given to the company. Future state value stream mapping can reduce lead time 41% from the current state value stream mapping.

Abstract

The research was conducted to identify the root cause of rejects on spin on products in the assembly process of PT. XYZ. It aims to determine the right improvement to reduce the reject rate on spin on products. This study applies the pareto chart and cause effect diagram to describe and determine the root cause of the problem. The proposed improvement is to apply a damper to the shutter. The results of implementation improvement bear positive result and reduce the project rate. Results before improvement are worth 0.19%, and after improvement worth 0.13%.

Abstract

Abstract: Bondi Syad Mulia is a company which offer the hot dip galvanizing services. Data of disability during the month of April showed that the number of defects that occurred amounted to 12.71%. The aim of this study is to provide a proposal to decrease the number of defects that occur in galvanizing products. There are four (4) types of disability to be studied are bare spots, delamination, welding blowouts, and drainage spikes. Efforts to reduce the level of disability is done by following the steps DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Tools that are used to manage and analyze data is check sheet, pareto chart and fishbone diagrams. Proposed improvements given the company is to make work instructions and records of operators who perform the oven; conduct inspections to check the levels of aluminum in the kettle fluxing by using the inspection form; checking the finished iron or steel in sand blasting and keep records regarding the results obtained in the form of checking; as well as the addition to the initial inspection to check initial thickness and welding conditions on iron or steel. Keywords: Quality, DMAIC, Checksheet, Pareto charts, Fishbone diagrams.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacture company which specializes in producing of car tires, motorcycle tires, truck tires, bus tires, etc. The purpose of this research is to determine the production capacity of machine A and knowing the right solution to maximize the capacity of machine A. Early quality review shows no definite capacity in the production process on a daily basis. Determination of capacity is done by taking data every production process by using stopwatch and conducted a series of data testing. The actual condition of initial production in march was 136 tires/day. The calculation of production capacity was 167 tires / day in March. The analysis of time cycle improvement is done using time motion study method, Man-Machine Chart map, and body ply material improvement on machine A. The result after actual implementation in April was 151 tires / day with capacity of 182 tires/day. The result of analysis shows that the production capacity is known and there is an increase of production capacity by 10% on machine A in PT.XYZ. The factor that makes no chances of catching up is because the percentage of downtime is too big and does not match the target.

Abstract

In this thesis we elaborated the predictive maintenance for the critical parts of Pelletizer machines in PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia. We used the reliability tools, such as, availability, mean time to failure and mean time to repair for calculating the total minimum cost. As the result we can improve the availability of pelletizer 1, 3 and 4 as much as 1%, 1% and 3 % respectively. Additionally, the reliability of pelletizer 1 and 2 are improved to 20.55%, 19.71% respectively and the total cost is reduced from 12% to 90%.

Abstract

PT. X is a multinational company that produces consumer goods. This study is subjected to designing management quality system that is appropriate with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 for Compensation and Benefits (C&B), the sub-department of Human Resource Development (HRD) in PT. X. This sub-department focuses on all HR transaction related to compensation and benefit for the employees of PT. X. Risk assessment conducted towards 127 processes of C&B using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and risk matrix methods. C&B with its high-risk processes are the scope of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Design of quality management system is conducted by creating quality manual and renewing SOP. Implementation and internal audit are conducted for two pilot process. Before ISO 9001:2015 quality management system implemented, 86% of ISO requirements are fulfilled. After it is implemented, 94% of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements can be fulfilled by the sub-department.

Abstract

PT X is an industry that running the fodder production. Each machine in this industry has important role to produce the fodder, so it has to be well maintain for the best performance and result. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) used to measure the machine effectiveness. Maintenance department has settle the target of OEE that is 60%, but in realization pellet machine 1 and 8 only got 59.6% and 56.32%. An effort to improve OEE is for minimize the biggest losses from six big losses and the biggest Downtime from pellet machine 1 and 8. The biggest losses that causing OEE getting low at pellet machine 1 and 8 is because small stop and slow running losses, while the top downtime from both of the machine is cooler clean-up and waiting for mixer. Main cause from the problem above is obtained by using the fishbone diagram. Each cause is analyzed to obtain the solution. One of the solution is to provide time on pellet machine 1 and 8 for clean-up, checking, and/or repairing by 1.61 hours and 0.9 hours at the same time. The solution resulted in an increase of OEE on pellet machine 1 and 8 by 3.44% and 4.54%.
