Abstract

The activity of splitting purchase orders at the company is a quantity separation process that is carried out because there are requests for revision of needs and changes in the arrival schedule of raw materials. PO split activities have an inefficiency impact on procurement administration activities and warehousing activities. The company has designed several ordering methods that can accommodate these conditions, namely minimum order quantity, max lot size, and rounding value. Goal of the research is to create a classification model that categorize the optimal ordering method for raw materials. It begins by evaluating the pattern of raw material features, then designs the levels of the raw material's characteristic combination. The author then defines the scenarios that occur from the combination of characteristics and levels. Finally, by integrating raw material data to a defined scenario, the author creates an automated model. As a result of the research, the model could classify raw materials based on the company's characteristic data, determining whether or not the minimum order quantity, maximum lot size, and rounding value ordering method are required. Companies can use the categorization model to detect and classify raw material ordering methods more easily, rapidly, and consistently.

Abstract

This research was conducted to design a value assessment at PT. XYZ using the Rasch method. Assessment Value is a measuring tool created to identify and measure the suitability of the candidate's work value. The purpose of making a value assessment is to obtain an assessment design and determine the suitability of the candidate's values with company values. The Rasch method is used to assist research because it facilitates dichotomous data. Dichotomy data consists of two answers, for example, yes or no answers in the assessment. The trial was carried out to obtain an assessment design, which consisted of statistical tests in the form of validity and reliability tests and verification from the user. Test the validity and reliability using computational assistance from the Rasch method on Winstep software. The item assessment validity test is carried out with the help of the item function, while the reliability test uses the summary statistic function in Winstep. User verification is carried out to determine whether the value assessment made is in accordance with the needs and the company's values. The results of the value assessment later can help the company to identify the suitability of the candidate's work culture with the company.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that is happening all around the world has led into a huge chaos on systems. WHO (World Health Organization) provides recommendations on what features should be considered in the manufacture of non-medical masks. The desire of public (customers) is also considered important in determining the design of non-medical masks. Voice of customers on the design of non-medical masks which are found out using questionnaires. The results of the questionnaire or voice of the customer are then processed using Quality Function Development. Then try to solve the contradicting functions using TRIZ. The characteristics of non-medical masks that are desired by the public are masks that cover the nose and mouth, comfortable earloops, masks that block droplets, masks that have good durability and are not easily damaged, masks have no barriers and can breathe easily, keep the user's nose and mouth dry, according to the price, adjust the shape of the mask, and adjust the design. Of the three non-medical mask design proposals, non-medical mask design 1 is the result of a design that is widely chosen by the community because it is in accordance with their wishes and is considered safer.

Abstract

This research discusses efforts on how to increase X company best quality product using DMAIC. The company has a production target of 75% for the best quality ceramic tiles, though it was hard to achieve it since the production in 2019 was only 62%. There are eight lines within the production floor and data showed that the largest defect rate of 43.64% has occurred in line seven. By using Pareto chart, we can see which problem needed to be prior solved and it showed that there were twelve types of defects which then being analyzed using fishbone diagram and 5 whys to have a deep root cause analysis. Some comments have been proposed, one of them is related to the elimination of a dusty environment. By adding a dust collector and implement maintenance schedule, it could significantly result in lowering the impact of dust by 52% and engine damage by 46%.

Abstract

PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PTTMMIN) is one of the major companies in Indonesia engaged in the automotive sector. PT TMMIN acts as a manufacturer and also as an exporter of cars and Toyota components. One component exported by PT TMMIN is a sample part which the component used as a trial for new project in the other Toyota affiliation. Export documents from sample parts called Sample Part Order (SPO). During handling, there are some SPO delayed which will have an impact on the company's Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and the image of PT TMMIN in the global affiliate as an exporter. An analysis to solve problems use Toyota Business Practice (TBP) tools and problem tree diagram. The improvements are summary of SPO, renewal of new phase 1 workflows, and weekly progress. The improvements have a positive effect, which reduce days of delay from 15 days to 0 days in the part confirmation, exporter reply delay decreasing from 71% on November 2018 into 0% delay on May 2019, also reducing delay shipment by 25% from November 2018 to 17% on May 2019. Expectations from the design of new information systems are to re-reduce the number of delays from SPO and facilitate the SPO handling process which benefits to PT TMMIN.

Abstract

Productivity is an ability to carry out activities that produce an output or work in accordance with the specified quality. However, there are problems that cause the company's goals to be less achieved. Output is determined by planning, resources, etc. Planning explanations can lead to various financial, production, and other problems. This research was conducted because of the difference between the planned productivity target and the actual productivity of the production conditions. The company uses the SAP software to plan the use of labor and calculate the productivity of the assigned workers, and the company will make adjustments on the production floor if there is an excess or shortage of labor. Because the difference in the amount of productivity and use of labor can be identified based on the data on the difference between the planned and actual productivity. To optimize planning, it is necessary to analyze the root of the problem using the DMAIC method and 5 whys analysis. By finding the root cause of the problem, the company can immediately take corrective action.

Abstract

PT. X is a subsidiary of one of the largest wood manufacturers in Indonesia. The main complication is that the production output of the Packing Department fell below the set target. The purpose of this research is to determine the various factors that can impede the production causing it not to reach the target, and regulate preventative ways so the situation will not be repeated in the future. The methods used are field observation, interview with the A Department coordinator of the company, and Stopwatch Time Study for timing. Calculated using standard time, the capacity of production for Y product supposed to reach 51,1197825 containers. However, the actual output was only 23,07792208 containers, whereas the production target was as high as 62 containers. The reasons why the demand was not fulfilled were that the target was greater than the production capacity and actual output was less than the production capacity, which were caused by the delay in input and processes from the B Department and A Department, respectively. A few proposed solution are adding units for the longest processing procedure, line  balancing, seeking local suppliers, and double-checking the product posters’ design before being printed and handed to QC buyer.
