Abstract

CV X is a printing company. CV X has 2 types of business, which is offset and digital, but this research focus more on the production department in the offset section of CV X. The COVID-19 pandemic has decreased the demand of printing, therefore, CV X must make some adjustments to the number of workers so that the number of workers are still efficient. Currently, the number of workers in production department are 22 workers. The improvement of work standards are made based on observations and job descriptions of each worker by considering production capacity and physical distancing health protocols. Determining the optimal number of workers in some demand conditions are done using Macro Excel and done by minding the production capacity and limits on the number of people in one workspace according to WHO recommendations. Application of Macro Excel program is done by counting 2 examples of existing cases. The first example has demand percentage of 77.05% and the optimal number of worker is 17 workers and the second example has demand percentage of 13.02% and the optimal number of worker is 12 workers. The results of the Macro Excel are in accordance with physical distancing health protocols.

Abstract

PT X is a global bicycle industry that develops, manufactures, and markets bicycles around the world. One of the brands produced by PT X is brand Y. The problem faced by the Supply Department of brand Y is the inaccuracy of scheduling and determining the number of the lot size of bicycle models in placing orders. This inaccuracy is due to a large number of models, model levels, and SKU (Stock Keeping Units) every year. The purpose of this research is to design placement orders as a supporting tool to predict the schedule and optimizing the number of order lot size in the long run. There are two methods that researcher used, which is qualitatively (by interview) and quantitatively (modeling based on data history and designing the system using Visual Basic Excel version 7.1). The result obtained by this research is the estimated order entered by the user in the system can be scheduled and optimized automatically using excel. The main conclusion that can be drawn is the design of placement orders as a supporting tool that can eliminate the inaccuracy planning of placing orders. This design has also been successfully verified and validated.

Abstract

CV Bintang Lima Plastindo manufactured plastic pallets and plastic ropes. Currently, the company did not have a planned maintenance schedule. Breakdown maintenance in the company required more time because operators are not ready to fix the problems. Longer machine downtime affects machine performance, which can be seen in the OEE score. Previous company OEE score is 56,56%, which is far below the ideal standard. This research conducted to design a suitable maintenance schedule to improve the OEE score. The maintenance schedule is designed based on the mean time to failure (MTTF) of every breakdown occurs, and real condition in the factory. A new planned maintenance schedule is simulated and compared with the previous condition. The result shows that OEE is improved by 0.73% and can increase company income by IDR 1.098.412.984,60.

Abstract

PT. X is a private company engaged in the manufacture of weapons (Alutsista) the Main Equipment of the Indonesian National Army Weapon System. The company has had problems with warehouse management where the arrangement of raw materials on shelves that are placed arbitrarily, recording incoming and outgoing goods is still manual and also has problems with warehouse SOPs. In the raw material warehouse there are 7 shelves, each shelf consists of 3 stacks. By making changes to the warehouse layout, you can make your own warehouse activities more efficient. Then by applying the fixed storage method and labeling the identity on each shelf, the search and retrieval time of goods before is 37,092 seconds and after is 23,632 seconds. For changes to the SOP itself, the company previously had 3 SOPs and the new plan became 7 SOPs. The SOP itself is divided, merged and simplified the sentences from the old SOP to the new SOP. The use of Visual Basic for Applications for recording incoming and outgoing goods themselves to facilitate warehouse operators in carrying out the data collection process and also reduces the risk of incorrect data entry.

Abstract

CV. X is an ice cube distributor. The company faced a problem that ice cube distribution time ussually longer than time window that has been set by the company. This research is focused on minimization delivery time therefore the total delivery time will not exceed the time window. Currently, the company operates two cars and two treecycle motorbikes. Every vehicle has more than one route every day. Therefore this research problem is Vehicle Routing Problem With Time Window. This problem is solved using the Evolutionary Algorithm method in Microsoft Excel software. The proposed routes can reduce delivery time on two different days by 9.85% and 4.02% for cars, as well as 9.85% and 11.8% on treecycle motorbikes.

Abstract

Optimization in the distribution process needs to be done to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery, reduce travel distance, and save costs. One of the optimization processes in the distribution process is to determine the optimal distribution route. Route optimization will help a company with a lot of customer combination that need to be served everyday with a limited resources or constraints. The purpose of this research is to help PT. X to have a reference for making the optimal route in solving the capacitated vehicle routing problem with time windows. AnyLogistix Software will be used in the optimization process to determine the optimal distribution route by building a model inside the software with capacitated vehicle and time windows constraints. Optimization’s results shows more than 20% distance reduction that can be used to determine retail product delivery routes based on measurable data for PT. X

Abstract

This research aims to design a telemetry dashboard for PT X. Telemetry is a tank monitoring tool. This tool is installed for each customer or business partner of PT X. The telemetry monitoring process produces a dataset, which has to be presented to the Board of Directors of PT. X for further performance evaluation. Before using a dashboard, the team processed and visualized the dataset manually. So naturally, it was very time-consuming and prone to human error. Therefore, we designed a dashboard based on the monthly reports using a Google Data Studio in this study. Additionally, we prepared the dataset for creating the dashboard using Python and Google Sheets to reduce the processing time. The designed dashboard can provide an overview of the tank’s conditions and telemetry utilization, compare the telemetry measurement of each customer and business partner, save distribution costs and reduce the filling frequency, and monitor the KPI of delivery distribution performance.

Abstract

PT. X is a company engaged in the oil industry. The oil produced is palm oil. This palm oil company has been established since 1970, but in February 2021 it was acquired. PT. X is currently focusing on innovating new products that will be launched in the near future. The product launch also coincided with the high demand for palm oil starting in October as much as 23.5% compared to the previous month. The company realizes that employee performance needs to be maximized considering the increasing demands of work. Companies want to know whether employees are ready for many demands by looking at the employee's attachment to the company. Company engagement can be measured by several factors, namely work demands, company support, and support from each individual. Questionnaires were distributed to collect data to all employees from various divisions in the company. The conclusion obtained is that job resources and personal resources have an impact on company employees. This impact is a good thing considering that the high job resources compared to job demand has a positive impact on the possibility of employees experiencing burnout or leaving their jobs to be small.

Abstract

PT. RJM is a carpet manufacturing company made from recycled polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. The raw materials used by the company are taken by suppliers from the waste products of other companies which also use PVC raw materials such as shoes, raincoats, food packaging, children's toys, plastic bags, etc. The company is developing a mixture of raw material compositions by adding other alternative raw materials so that the products produced have better quality. In this study the author proposes the addition of cable skin made of PVC. This study discusses the effect of improving product quality by adding PVC cable skin to a new mix of compositions, the cost of using a mixture of old and new compositions, challenges faced by companies both in the use of a mixture of new compositions and mechanical recycling, and recommendations to companies about the shortcomings in the process of managing the recycling of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) by mechanical recycling.
