Abstract

Logistic Company is a freight forwarding service company that operates on bothdomestic and international scales. The services they offered include transportation by road and sea, which internally refers to as road-sea-road. In the shipping process, there are some challenges, one of them is the occurence of claims. Claims happen when the goods arrive at the recipient in damage or insufficient condition. In order to reduce the occurence of claims, the company needs to identify the causes of the claims. Method that is used in this research is the DMAIC method. Causes of claims are identified using 5 whys analysis and one of the seven tools methods, namely fishbone diagram. After being identified using 5 whys analysis  and the fishbone diagram, it was found that most of the occurrences of claims are caused by human factors and the stuffing system. Therefore, a suggestion is found by creating a Key Risk Indicator (KRI) that is expected to assist the company to minimize claims.

Abstract

PT X is a plastic manufacturer and the company utilizes SAP system in its operations. Unfortunately, there is still an issue regarding deviation of raw material stock between system and actual inventory. Therefore, this research aims to investigate and analyze the measures that can be taken to prevent the occurrence of such deviation in the Production Floor Plastic Injection (PFPI) PT X. To achieve this objective, the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) is employed as the framework for the research process. Through the creation of a Fishbone Diagram, several root problems were identified, focusing on method-related factors. These problems include the absence of raw material quantity calculations, lingering overwork (mixer -> setter), inadequate control of good issue and good receipt, and the lack of recording for leftover material transfers. To address these issues, proposed improvement suggestions were formulated, including the implementation of "Raw Material Requirement Calculation Form," "Raw Material Work Order Form," "Inbound and Outbound Raw Material Form," "Good Issue and Good Receipt Recording Form," and "Good Issue Request Form." These proposals are believed to aid in improving the calculation, recording, and monitoring systems for raw materials in the Production Floor Plastic Injection (PFPI) PT X.

Abstract

The ISO Quality Procedure SAP Plant Maintenance document of the MaintenanceDepartment at PT. X has a gap percentage of 42% compared to the actual condition. The gapsinclude the implementation of Work Order for service operations and the Kitting Box program inPreventive Maintenance, which have not been carried out. This situation has caused the Preventive Maintenance business process to deviate from the standards, and the company's needs have not been met. This research aims to improve compliance with the ISO Quality Procedure SAP Plant Maintenance document, specifically in Preventive Maintenance, and fulfill thecompany's needs. The method used in this research is the implementation of system improvementin Preventive Maintenance with the help of Gap Analysis and Plan, Do, Check, Action (PDCA). The results of this research show that the implementation of improvement has been successfullycarried out. The audit checklist indicates that the Quality Procedure SAP Plant Maintenance has been fulfilled by 92%, with a final gap of 8%. The proposed suggestion is to continuously make improvements and supervise the implementation of those improvements. Additionally, the recruitment of a Planner position and coordination with the internal department can also be donepromptly so that other gaps can be addressed promptly.

Abstract

Company X is a company engaged in the field of logistics. The turnover intention at this company is categorized as high, particularly within the Freight Clearance Project Cargo (FCPC) and Strategic Procurement (SP) departments with a turnover percentage of 13% in the last three years. The objective of this research is to identify the factors influencing turnover intention,specifically focusing on workload, work environment, and work satisfaction. The research was conducted with the method of distributing questionnaires on a Likert scale of 1-5 and data processing using Partial Least Squares (PLS) model evaluation using SmartPLS 3.0. Descriptively, the lowest mean in the FCPC department is found in the complexity of work, noise in the workplace,and wages given. The lowest mean in the SP department is found in the deadline to achieve the target, noise in the workplace, and wages given. These indicators need to be further reviewed by the company. The hypothesis results indicate that workload, work environment, and work satisfaction have no impact on the turnover intention level. It’s known that the variables of workload, workenvironment, and job satisfaction have an influence of 20.2% on turnover intention. Therefore, there are still other variables impacting turnover intention.

Abstract

PT. Hartono Istana Teknologi is a company that produces electronic goods and home appliances, one of which is a washing machine. Manufacturing of washing machines is done by way of assembly. The analysis aims to identify waste that exist in the production process, which will be carried out by eliminating waste and balancing the production line so that the distribution of workload can be evenly distributed and increase the line efficiency as well as operator productivity. The method used is 7 wastes method and also line balancing using the Killbridge Wester method. In knowing the balance of the line, it can be done by calculating the line efficiency, balance delay, smoothness index and total of idle time. The proposed improvements are obtained by reducing the waste of waiting and waste of motion that caused by the uneven distribution of workloads and the layout of material placement that are far from the operator's reach. From the results of this proposed improvement, the line efficiency increase from 84% to 90%, increase productivity by 2%, reduce balance delay from 16% to 10% and idle time from 22.9 seconds to 14.6 seconds.

Abstract

PT. X is a manufacturing company that operates in the field of iodized salt production in Surabaya since 1978. With production capacity increasing every year, PT. X has established several production units to boost the company's work productivity. One of the production units that is referenced to boost work productivity dominantly is unit V (five). In unit V (five), there is one part that is important in helping into the final product distribution, namely the packaging section. The problem currently faced by the packaging section at unit V (five) is that there is an additional workforce that fluctuates at certain times without being balanced with considerations regarding job descriptions and the influence on ongoing work conditions or situations. Through an analysis of labor conditions using the workload analysis and work sampling methods, a high average workload percentage of 114.25% was obtained. In addition, through calculations and analysis of average standard time of 2,072 minutes/pc in the packaging section, the actual calculation of the optimal number of workers is 8 workers in order to create a conducive situation while working with a decreasing average workload percentage to 99.97%.

Abstract

This study aims to assist PT. Mentari Mas Multimoda in avoiding container shortages and overdue containers that exceed tolerance levels in Surabaya. This particular situation, in which there is frequently a shortage of containers, is not unusual in shipping, including at this company. The company itself has built up a backlog in several of its branches, which is one of the reasons why there aren't enough containers. There are several containers at various MMM locations that are not being managed to be delivered back to the Surabaya headquarters of the business. The overdue container itself is one issue that is brought up by this one. Because they load containers that have the least amount of overdue time in comparison to containers that have been. This is because the stability of containers going in and out can be properly maintained based on existing data. Plans to resolve these issues are formulated in DMAIC.

Abstract

CV Jesselyne is a manufacturing company in the production of pillows and bolsters. Currently, the company operates without having a policy related to Occupational Safety and Health (K3). For this reason, the company wants to be able to identify potential hazard and take action to reduce the possibility of their occurrence. The study was conducted using the Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Risk Control (HIRARC) approach to meet the company’s expectations. The initial stage of the study was to conduct direct field observations along with interviews with employees working at CV Jesselyne. After analysis, from the initial conditions, 17 potential hazard were found, there in one potential hazard with an extreme risk rating, 8 potential hazard with high risk rating category, and 8 potential hazard with moderate risk rating category. If the proposals given are played by the company, there is a potential for decline hazards into 7 hazard that have a moderate risk rating value and 10 hazard that have a value low risk rating.

Abstract

The main focus on the existing work process in the Engineering section of PT.Djarum is the fulfilment of projects originating from related users. With this project fulfilment request, certain resources are needed, one of which is parts. The parts used are common parts that can help in the process of making a part of the project. After a project is completed, there are some parts left over from the project and must be stored again. These parts are referred to as ex-project parts. The process of storing ex-project parts is still not well done, where there are obstacles in administration, especially naming each part. In addition, there are shortcomings when the part will be stored in the shelf, namely the arrangement of the part into the shelf. Due to this, engineer PT Djarum has a project, which is moving the storage to a new warehouse. In this new warehouse, it is desired that the administration process or part arrangement can run well. To answer this desire, the ABC method is used in the process of arranging parts on shelves. By using this method, classification and grouping of parts are obtained based on the frequency of movement of the parts in the warehouse. The classification and grouping are based on the cumulativepercentage value of each part. By knowing this information, there are considerations in the arrangement of parts so that the search and administration process can run better.

Abstract

PT. Alpha Graha Industri is a company that produces alpha carts. There havebeen several work accidents at the production site of PT. Alpha Graha Industries. This final assignment was carried out using direct observation methods and interviews with company owners and local workers. The purpose of this final project is to reduce the number of work accidents at PT. Alpha Graha Industries. From the results of the analysis that occurred, it was found that 22 activities in the production process had risk analysis values of 59% high, 13.7% moderate and 27.3% low which could cause work accidents. 32 risk control proposals have been proposed which are dominated by 50% technical engineering, 34.4% Personal Protective Equipment and 15.6% administration.The proposal given by the author has been approved by the company. It is predicted that the risk rating of the activities will be 100% low.
