Abstract

In this modern era, the development of photography and videography are increasing rapidly along with its popularity amongst society. Lots of new communities of beginner to professional established. In addition, photography and videography are not only considered as a hobby nowadays, but it is also seen as a real job by the community. Thus, more facilities are needed to support all photography and videography activities. In Indonesia, enthusiasm towards photography and videography has been enlarging, especially in big cities. Surabaya is indeed one of them, along with the fact that Surabaya has many photography enthusiasts in the community. There are many services that offered for photography or photography activities. But, facilities that supported users to explore the world of photography and videography completely is not much.                Therefore, interior design of One Stop Creative Photo and Video Studio is proposed using the concept of bringing out the icons from the city of Surabaya, including the Kepanjen church, Tunjungan bridge, Tunjungan street, and Bungkul Park in accordance to trigger people to visit those unique locations of Surabaya. In addition, in this design concept adopt the characteristics of Surabayan people, such as brave, creative and dynamic.

Abstract

Shopping center mall which is known as a place that containts all kinds of products to market and received by the visitors as a place to buy needs and recreation. The visitors often come just to accompany their partners without any other intentions. When they feel tired and bored but their partner is still walking around, they will wait. This design is intended to find two needs from the visitors who waits and the shopping center mall’s administrator. The initial observation which was done is intended to gain the data of needs, habit, and characters of the visitors in the situation that make them waits. Observation is also done to gain data from the availability of waiting area in the shopping center mall, which is bench. The results of the observation becomes the reference of some case studies which are announced to the public to know the habits of the users in choosing sitting position which has been prepared by the mall’s developer. Besides that, the mall’s developer have other needs and main purpose which is money oriented profits. So in this design, with adding commercial elements as the main point in this waiting activity, whereas even if the visitors are just waiting, they can optimally interact. The result of the thinking process to combine both needs, advertising, information center, also online shopping facility become something that is a huge advantage for the mall and also become one of the waiting facility for the visitors to spend their time.

Abstract

The traditional games are diverse in each region, whether originating from the culture of the region it self or adopted from a culture outside the region but is played in Indonesian cultural ways and customs. However, as the times progresses rapidly, traditional games were increasingly abandoned. Seeing this phenomenon, a lot of effort has been made to raise the prestige of traditional games. With that fact, as a form of supporting the effort to preserve traditional games, the author developed the idea to implement traditional games, especially traditional games on interior elements for children. The object that will be designed is an interior product for children which besides serving to accommodate learning activities as well as a means of playing while learning through the implementation of traditional games on the interior elements. The formulation of the issues discussed is what traditional games can be implemented and what construction systems and materials are appropriate for children. The method used is design thinking method, by doing observation and field survey, interviewing, gathering related literature, programming analysis phase, design schematic stage, final design stage, and realization stage of 1: 1 prototype.

Abstract

Futsal interior design gallery in Surabaya aim to find a lot of new and emerging futsal place in the coming future. And futsal place is always crowded with visitors and players each day. From the above facts we can see the enthusiasm of the Surabaya people upon this sport. Therefore created a futsal gallery into a facility for the people who loves the sport of futsal and for other visitors for entertainment. Futsal gallery itself provides several facilities like an information center that provides insights of the futsal sport, futsal and football history. Other than that not only to provide information only, but also in the gallery there are stores that sell futsal sports equipments such as clothes, balls, shoes. In addition there is a café for players after playing futsal to hang out. Interior design Futsal gallery is expected to answer the needs of visitors and also to provide entertainment for futsal sports lovers. So that people can not only play, but also understand the history and rules that exist in futsal. And everything related to futsal.

Abstract

The room of studio apartment is relatively smaller than the 2 or 3 rooms apartment, where is the space only for bedroom and bathrooms. Bedroom is also used for living room, dining room, work space and kitchen. User in their activities sometimes has guests in the room, but there is no place to accommodate it. The effect, bed as a private for user used by guests too, and guests feel not comfortable to use. The purpose of designing furniture with more functions, characters and shapes that are useful to accommodate a wide range of workspaces. The method stages of this design is empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. Multifunction bed as a place to rest, receive guests, work, eat, discuss and store items can help the needs of users.

Abstract

In this day and age, the less land available, but the demand for space is increasing. Humans tried to live as efficiently and effectively as possible both in terms of cost, space and energy. The Apartments is now present with the concept of SOHO, which can be used as an office or residence. To be able to use space as effectively and efficiently as possible, multi-functional furniture is needed to accommodate the living and working activity yet user-friendly and convenient to use. Adopting the design method according to Campbell, the design is through four stages, namely, Empathize (data data collecting through the literature and interviews), Define (the preparation and processing of data), Ideate (excavation design ideas and making a sketch of design as well as alternative), and Prototype (prototype to determine the shortcomings of the design). The design results in the form of 9 pieces of multifunctional furniture that accommodates the needs of the activity live and work. The furnishings are an amalgamation desks and mattresses, kitchen sets and dining table, as well as a work desk and table tv.

Abstract

The development of variety and pattern on social activities boost the number of skyscraper as an activity center. Moreover, there is a lot of functional conversion of non-commercial to commercialize area that lead to expensive price for utilizing the area. Limited area (space) is one of the impacts of the increasing number of population in the city. Besides, technology development also builds new mindset on interior design which shifted into a medium of self-actualization. Because of the limited area, maximizing space by designing furniture is one of the solutions to resolve the problem. This design is purposed to give solution on limited space, through multifunctional modular interior product design based on processed wood material.This design concept is adopting d’school Paris Design method to details about problem, need, solution, idea, design and long-term implementation through business model canvas. These method offers few alternative design concepts as a proposed solution, regarding some aspects such as efficiency of material usage, production system, design trend, end user design taste, marketing system, distribution system, until product usage techniques. The design concept shows that multifunctional modular product based on multiplex material became a solution to solve the limited space problem in urban area. Multifunctional modular design usage has more advantages in efficiency of material usage, production system and product usage flexibility.

Abstract

Padang cuisine is one of the various Indonesian famous foods that is loved by many locals and also tourists. Padang restaurants have an unique characteristics in their serving method which is every menu dishes available are served onto the table, where waiters put dozens of plates directly to the guest's table. Aside from the serving method, Padang restaurants always have a display window of cuisine beside the main entrance which makes people easily recognizes a Padang restaurant. Activities inside the restaurant are never far from the furniture, which is why the unique serving system is closely related to furniture. The high numbers of Padang restaurants in Surabaya makes researchers interested in doing a typology research of its furniture. Furniture of Padang restaurant in Surabaya differ and each have their own unique characters. Furniture are not just being studied from the shape and size aspects only, but also from the furniture arrangement, as the position of furniture affects the activities inside the restaurant. By studying this matter by typology, the different of one restaurant with another can be compared so an affinity and similarity can be concluded for one to another. The result of analysis will show a similarity and differences in arrangement, dimension, and shape of furniture from each Padang restaurants. This difference and similarity analysis that is resulted from those groupings will be a conclusion about typology of Padang restaurants in Surabaya.

Abstract

Papua Province State Museum is one of the museums located in Jayapura, Papua which has approximately 3600 collections of art and culture from Papua and West Papua. In fact, this museum is less desirable to visit the public due to the condition of the museum's interior and the presentation of less attractive collections and good maintenance and technical buildings, especially electricity that is unstable so the need for redesain museum for the interior of value and interesting. To achieve this, the redesign of this museum takes the concept of "Muni Papua Bageka Tota Kabo Wado Make" which means caring for a museum based on local culture of Papua so, the design of this museum will feature a warm and comfortable atmosphere that is close to the daily life of the people of Papua in terms of color selection, , Accessories and interior elements at redesain Museum Negeri Provinsi Papua. With this redesign, it is hoped that this museum will become one of the icon of the city of Papua that enhances the image of the city of Papua, enhances the conservation of Papuan culture, adds recreation areas and adds Papuan cultural education.

Abstract

In today's modern era, people tend to seek fun or entertainment in public space, such as a mall and many people who just follow the trend without noticing the important things like reading culture. Interior Design of Regional Library in West Surabaya Area aims to answer the phenomenon of many Indonesian people, especially in Surabaya who are lazy to read books. The specific target of this design is to provide facilities or accommodate the needs of the community to read. This design combines the local library with a mall so that presents a new concept to follow the lifestyle of today's society which is smart and stylish with futuristic style. The method in the design process is divided into 7 stages, namely: define research, ideate, prototype, selection, implementation, and learn. The result of the design using futuristic concepts are applied to the arrangement of furniture, furniture form, interior elements, floor patterns, ceiling pattern, and material used.
