Abstract

The design aims to solve the existing problems: 1) the lack of Chinese cultural elements and characteristics, 2) the absence of space to welcome guests such as lobby, and 3) the use of monotonous furnitures. Based on those problems, designer learns how to create an interesting, warm and cozy Chinese restaurant atmosphere with Chinese characteristics that is able to maximize the functionality of each room within the restaurant. The interior design of this Chinese restaurant located in Surabaya is also act as an introduction to modern Chinese culture towards society. Design Thinking method is used to get the maximum result during the design process. The design results in the establishment of a lobby facility, a semi-VIP area that offers scenic view, VIP rooms as private areas, the stage to accommodate music and dance performances, buffet area, and bar. In the end, hopefully the design of this Chinese restaurant could be an alternative solution to resolve the existing problems, especially in Surabaya.

Abstract

The enthusiasm towards Basketball is increasing in Surabaya. Sadly Surabaya has limited facilities for Basketball. Therefore, a café with basketball theme, which provides various basketball facilities, is designed to respond that problem. The café is designed to bring the atmosphere of basketball arena inside the room. The facilities provided are adapted from some facilities that existed in Basketball arena, so that visitors can experience the basketball arena while inside the café. The Interior Design of Basketball Café in Surabaya will be able to accommodate people’s needs in Surabaya, which are a place to deliver their hobby toward basketball as well as gaining some knowledge about Basketball. Visitors can enjoy basketball matches through a screen provided inside the café. They also can do basketball in the court, which also provided by the café. Visitors can also enjoy VIP facilities and purchase basketball accessories at the store.

Abstract

Baby changing room at mall area in Surabaya is designed to meet the needs of users. Baby tafel in the mall today is not well designed to meet the needs of users. Rapid movement of baby-diaper moms is needed because baby who will switch diapers are active in their movements. The design of a multifunctional Tafel baby can be an answer for parents to make rapid movements in the form of baby diapers in the mall area, so that users can do activities efficiently, practically and comfortably.  Baby Tafel is designed with fun concept, efficient and multifunctional. Existing designs adapted to the concept of cartoonish cartoons are colored according to cartoon concept of zebras, lions, giraffes, elephants, and hippo. The cartoon concept of this animal will directly give the impression cheerful for the child and mother to do diaper change activity.

Abstract

Culinary is a part of life that is closely related to the consumption of food or a lifestyle that cannot be separated from everyday life. Therefore culinary is very important in life. Surabaya is the second largest city after Jakarta, as a metropolitan city with the urban communities of globalization trend that requires café and restaurant in everyday life. Other than that, time becomes increasingly valuable and city life hustles and bustles in routines. In connection with that reason, man becomes inclined for things that are practical in meeting their needs. By collaborating these two things, the café and restaurant, it is expected to introduce a variety of foods and beverages in the city of Surabaya as well as designing and make real a café and restaurant which is able to make the visitors get familiar with some of the culinary history of the city of Surabaya, so that the visitors can not only enjoy the food and drinks of Surabaya typically, but also will be more familiar with the history of the food itself. In addition, visitors can also enjoy a café for hangout which is located in the  the third floor outdoor area of the mall area to get a special sensation and to enjoy the served coffee and Surabaya city views from the top of the mall building.

Abstract

Ergonomic Interior Product Set Design for Professional GamersThe development of technology, especially in the world of games today leads to the rise of many organizations and professionals concerned in gaming world competitions. Professional athletes that appears from the organizations in the gaming world requires special supporting facilities in order to do their gaming activity well. Therefore it takes support facilities, especially on ergonomic interior products that can help gamers in doing their activities play. The formulation of the problem that must be solved is how to design gamers working facilities that fit the needs of professional gamers.Design using Nielsen Norman Group method in the process of design thinking to get data and solutions about the needs of gamers in doing their activities. There are several alternative designs to be an alternative in the selection of design, function and innovation of different designs. The design of the design focuses on creating new innovations, through the use of technology that is currently being developed. So as to create convenience, practicality, and comfort to perform activities especially intended for professional gamers.

Abstract

The high need of urban community for living space causes the lack of spaces available offered by big cities, and because of that people starts to build vertical living spaces. The problem is, some size of the rooms available doesn’t fit the need for some people to do their activities. This project is intended to help the need of some people who live in a narrow living space such as a small apartment, small dormitory, flat, and other narrow living space for doing their activities which relates to the function of the furniture designed. Observing the need of the people is the first method to begin with, then gathering the information needed, brainstorm and gathering the idea to get the concept that make the design’s boundaries, then making a real scale, so that, the model made can be tested to optimize then. At the end some of the function offered by this multifunction furniture are sleeping facilities, working facilities, storage facilities that oriented in the eficiency, efectivity, and form that follow its function.

Abstract

Cinema is one of the favorite entertainment place, especially for movie lovers, children and adults. It is often located in a shopping mall with similar design concept because of using the same brand of cinema. Frequently, the cinema design does not give much attention to the energy efficiency aspect. The design method consists of literature studies; design typology; online interview with Surabaya townspeople; observe location and prospect users; analyze data; state the problem; present the idea in shop drawing and presentation drawing. The design goal is to create a healthy and eco-friendly cinema by applying various variables of Greenship Interior Space Version 1.0. The other purpose is to create a different cinema’s environment in Surabaya which able to support user’s complex activities with various facilities. The cinema design uses a new building and branding in Surabaya. Cinemaxx cinema is designed to create a new and exciting atmosphere for Surabaya townspeople when enjoying the movie and receive gold certification level from Greenship Interior Space Version 1.0.

People began to switch to air-vegetarian Decreases the risk of disease. Loving Hut is a special restaurant that serves vegetarian food. In which the restaurant in Surabaya is still limited in number and needs to be developed to meet the needs of the people.4

Abstract

Practically, the purpose of this design is to create a portable product that practical and easy to carry anywhere. The benefits of this designs are to facilitate the community to complete their work needs to be more leverage. The product will be created in the form of product needed or needed by an MUA that is in the form of a suitcase that has the function of the chair also a folding table, also to put accessories makeup or other purposes as complement and tool for MUA. The method in this design uses primary data and secondary data by conducting initial interviews and direct observation and then followed by collecting data from literature studies related to this research. After the data collection is complete then proceed with analyzing the data already obtained. Next, start the design process up to the final stage while conducting discussions with the supervisor.

Abstract

The number of cars is currently growing rapidly in Indonesia, especially in big cities like Surabaya. Along with the increasing number of cars, the number of car repair services are also increasing. Considering that car owners want their cars to always look excellent. One of the supporting factors to add more value to the car repair service is by providing nice interior design that will comfort the visitors. From the observation, there is still no public car repair service with the same quality and facilities as authorized services.                The Interior Design of "Kusuma Motor" car repair service in Surabaya was done with several stages, in order for the design process to be more structured. Stages done in the design was based on the design thinking method, which are: discover, empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test.                The design concept of "Kusuma Motor" car repair service is inspired from the car system. The use of the car system concept is because the car has an important role and relation in a car repair service. From the Interior Design of "Kusuma Motor" car repair service, it is expected to provide good car service and to provide an interior design with supporting elements to make the visitors feel comfortable.                In order for “Kusuma Motor” which is a general car repair service to be able to compete with authorized workshops, it is provided with facilities and innovations to support the activities and needs of users in the car repair service in order to become more maximized and to make them feel comfortable. The design is embodied by the space specifications based on function and activities, entertainment facilities, service facilities, etc.
