Abstract

The need for food is increasing as the number of urban population in the world increases. One of the food we need is vegetable, one of human staple food. The increasing number of people has caused an increasing demand for the land, which has an impact on the cultivated land in the bigger city. Vegetables in urban city must be brought from out of town because of the inadequate urban farmland, causing the vegetables in urban city not fresh, not to mention if uncertain weather conditions make vegetable supply hampered. Seeing those problems, hydroponics became an answer needed by the urban society. Lettuce Urban Farming Restaurant is presented in Malang city with the concept of "Agliculture to the City", where the concept aims to bring the agriculture back into the urban areas. Malang City was chosen because it is one of the largest tourism city in East Java which is suitable to introduce hydroponics to the community.

Abstract

Current development makes restaurant businesses become more promising, leads to many people started businesses in the field of food and beverages. The increasing amount of restaurant businesses drives the owners to think creatively in order to cultivate their restaurants in attracting visitors. Restaurant with a good potential will also have a great selling power. The chosen concept is Tulou with interior applications of geometry shapes, wood materials and a space concept that represent typical Tulou. Warm atmosphere is presented with the use of color gradations of brown and red as an accent that is typical of Miraza Mey restaurant. Meaningful symbols on furniture or interior elements trusted to bring good fortune to restaurant owners. The application of areas division concept will facilitate the activities in the restaurant. The design result are restaurant room, VIP room, kitchen, employee area, toilet and storage room designed by providing the required facilities.

Abstract

Reading interest in Indonesia is still relatively low, espescially children. It is caused by several things, such as technology development, lack of parental guidance, as well as the lack of facilities to provide library materials for children. This children’s library design has a goal to increase reading interest in Indonesia by implementing early reading habits. The concept used in the design is contrast. This concept uses contrast shapes and colors. The merger between cirlce and rectangle shapes and contrasting colors such as red, blue, yellow, and green create a colorful library with interesting formations so that children are interested to read in the library.

Abstract

To participate in an exhibition, booth that attracts attention is required. Without exception, for wedding photographers who participated in a wedding exhibition. The problem is, building materials, furnitures, and construction service, requires big amount of cost. These costs can be saved if the materials can be used repeatedly and the construction can be done independently.During this time, materials used in booth constructions were using processed wood products, that are rigid and heavy. As another alternative, cardboard can be utilized more by processing the material into an exhibition booth.The design method stages are to analyze the needs of users and booth design, before the design stage begins. The design concept adopted is Showing Off Life Simply And Naturally, which is manifested in the form of 3 themed booth designs which are Curve, penstARgon, and Home. Booth as a whole measuring 5x3 meters, each of them divided into 2x3 and 3x3 meters sized booth. The construction system used is knock-down system so that the booth can be distribute easily and reuseable.

Abstract

This public transportation waiting facility is designed in order to accommodate Surabaya city’s need of functional public transportation anticipation place, provided for any kind of citizens. The main facilities featured in this design are the shelter from weather, comfortable yet unabusable seats, supports for the disabled, and interesting decorative arts. The concept used in this design is “Livability”, referring to a good environment for a community to live in. There are certain principles emphasized to achieve that concept, such as “comfortable”, “vibrant”, “safe”, “enduring”, and “excellence”. The result established by this design is a comfortable, interesting, and safe environment so people can interact well with each other while waiting for the public transportation.

Abstract

Apartment is one of the favorite residential facilities for students. The problem is, the apartments have limited space and can not accommodate their activities, especially design students with their tasks. The complexity of student activities should be accommodated in the rooms that are their private spaces. Therefore, multi-functional furniture design with space-saving and flexible properties is needed to solve user problems. This design begins by conducting surveys and collecting literature data on apartments, multi-function furniture, and design student activities as users. Based on the data, it is necessary the concept of multifunctional furniture that can meet the needs of design students in the apartment to the fullest. The concept, named "Maximini", is aimed at making this multifunctional furniture a means for complex design student activities that can be accommodated by a single multi-function furniture even with limited space. The final design was in the form of shelf and table that use the folding system which is very effective for narrow living spaces.

Abstract

Vihara is a symbol of Buddhism. The various streams that make the monastery one with the other have the emphasis of its own teaching derived from the history and the value of Buddhahood. Design object that being used is Buddhayana Buddhist temple, one of the monasteries with a new stream in Surabaya. This monastery is still building and have some problems such as to  visualize its room to be seen as Buddhayana streams in Dhammasala room, air quality issues that must be free from over-smoke needed, acoustic that has to be soundproof from other noises.Design method used is property d. school paris that describes every design process : inspiration, ideation, test, dan implementation. This design concept using “Naturalize Soul” approaching Buddha teaching, Zen, which teach “emptiness” in soul. This emptiness applied with simplicity and not distrubing any activities going. This design provides design which Buddism values  applied to its interior through symbols valued to Buddhayana, air quality needed to be smoke free using exhaust fan and providing air conditioner as subtitute of air that vacumed by exhaust, also solving acoustic conditions using soundproof materials.

Abstract

The dearth of some popular wood species phenomenon is actually inversely proportional with wood growing age. Potential pinewood which is widely available, often used for short-term needs; for example as containers. Therefore, pine waste become increase. This problem is not balanced because there is only a small number of craftsmen who could process it into an attractive product. This situation caused pine waste price become fairly cheap. To overcome this phenomenon, the designer designs modular panels as interior products by utilizing pine waste from containers. The design is based on “Eco-Sustainability" concept which consisting of two main words: Eco and Sustainability. It is based on the current trends and uses various theories as the design limits. Design’s method in this process is    Brain's Creative Development Spiral which consists of 5 steps, such as (1) Hypothesis and Experiment, (2) Image, (3) Compare, (4) Critique, (5) Present and Test. As the result, there are 5 series of modular panel products with different shape and pattern: Element Series, Earth Series, Universe Series, OWater Serie, and OFire Serie.

Abstract

Interior Design Street Food Center aims to accommodate the social needs of Tulungagung citizens with designing a comfortable place to eat and interesting place to gather with friends , family , and colleagues . In addition , the design has a target to provide new tourist attractions to residents of Tulungagung and also gives an interesting design innovations in town. This design represents a concept of street food with an interior street scenes accompanied by an indoor garden atmosphere that takes the concept of alun - alun Tulungagung, and the atmosphere of the beach which a tourism icon of the Tulungagung. These three concepts are combined together in a interior design so that food center it has a good atmosphere and cozy.

Abstract

Holistic tea house is a facility which is designed to bring back citizens’s awareness about Indonesia’s local potential which is tea, especially in Malang, East Java. The concept used is “Biophilic”, which is applied to “Secret Garden” theme. Both concept and theme were chosen to create the nuance of garden in attractive and soothing ways which are already difficult to find in big cities nowaday so that citizens are interested in learning more about tea. The concept also can be seen from the use of nature materials and colors, the application of different atmosphere from every rooms but still give the spacious feeling and creating space in space.
