Abstract

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia is very high, compared to other countries because of the lack of knowledge and counseling about pregnancy in the community and low standard health care. In addition to the high MMR, children mortality in Indonesia is also high because of poor nutrition. The planning of Information and Hypnotherapy Care Center For Mother and Child in Surabaya will support government programs in reducing maternal and children mortality in Indonesia and also the development of early child's brain using hypnosis method (via media subconscious) which is good for the mother's and children's health. The supporting facilities provided are a small library and information center that provide information about the education of pregnancy, children's health, nutrition, pre-birth and post-birth education classrooms, ultrasound and consultation room, pregnancy gyms and yoga, spa for pregnant mother, baby's store, day care, and children treatment, with other supporting public facilities such as lobby, cafe, lounge area, office, toilet, warehouse, and employees' break room. Information and Hypnotherapy Care Center for Mother and Child will be the first place in Indonesia that provides all the supporting facilities for pregnancy, postpartum, and early children's brain development.

Abstract

The development of people’s lifestyle is adding the function of restaurants. Not only as a place to eat and drink, the restaurant is also a place to socialize, do some works, or meeting with co-workers.The concept of restaurant that joins the retail allowed visitors to do more activities. Malang city is a tourist city and one of the favorite culinary tourism destinations, so there are many restaurants and cafes. Beside taste and price, the main factor that visitors are looking for is the atmosphere. Store atmosphere can be used as a creative strategy to face the intense culinary business competition. The role of interior designers is needed to create an atmosphere through the physical character of exterior buildings and interior spaces that attract attentions, supporting needs, as well as improving visitor convenience. This research reviewed the influence of store atmosphere on visitor behavior in two restaurants with different concepts and merger of retail, named Inggil and Madam Wang Secret Garden Restaurant, Malang. This research used qualitative method. The analysis focused on the forming elements of store atmosphere by Barry Berman and Joel R. Evans which includes exterior, general interior, store layout, and interior point-of-purchase displays.The result shows that store atmosphere influences visitor behaviors. Store atmosphere in Inggil Restaurant allowed visitors to enjoy restaurant, museum, and retail efficiently. Madam Wang Secret Garden's store atmosphere impresses visitors and encourages them to experience all areas inside. Both objects managed to achieve their goals through the establishment of store atmosphere that positively affect the behavior of visitors.

Abstract

Children are the future of the nation that need to get special attention during their period of growth and development. During the Golden Age phase, children will grow and develop quickly, when followed with excellent health quality. One Stop Children clinic is a facility that accommodate parents to know the development of children's health, educate children with educational games, and also educate the parents about children's health through seminars and workshops. Inside the children clinic, there is also a pharmacy that will provide a wide range of medicines for children, and cafes that served healthy foods and drinks. Thus, this one stop children clinic will provide a different service concept than the usual and general children clinic.

Abstract

The building of Café Latte Madiun was formerly a vacant building that was converted to a café which had undergone many changes in terms of its very unique material used in its interior. This study aims to determine and describe the application of materials in terms of furniture and design elements. The qualitative research with descriptive analysis, showed the results at Café Latte Madiun where application of teak wood materials is very dominant, the teak wood used is teak wood waste because the texture and shape are very beautiful and is supported by the application of other materials to the design element.

Abstract

Pet furniture is a furniture that adds a medium for pets to do activities with its owner. Pet furniture is designed by the need for compliance with daily activities of people who have pets that live in their home. People who have pets mostly do activities together with their pet inside their home to improve interaction and strengthening the bond between each other. The design of pet furniture is limited to cats and dogs, which are the most common animals that people kept as pets. The design method used is design thinking that prioritizes in facts collection related to the needs of space as a fundamental in designing pet furniture. The design of furniture that can accommodate human activities with the dogs and cats in the family room has been design processed it with the results of the design that applies the principles of the limitations on the design of pet furniture which include space user with pets, useing pallet scrap wood as the main material which is one of the potential waste in a production environment , as well as the use of knock-down system as a consideration for dogs and cats’ character that like to damage the furniture so that the detachment section can be replaced as needed.

Abstract

Child character education is something that can’t be developed instantly, it needs a long process and most often developed since the early stages of the children. This makes the role of parents very crucial in developing their children’s characters, but nowadays they are too busy with work to fulfill their family daily needs, therefore it affects the relationship between parents and their children becoming more distant. Therefore to strengthen the decaying relationship of parents and children, thematic edutainment facility based on folklore becomes one of the answers that provides children learning process of good characters through values that can be found in Indonesian folktales along with bonding process between parents and their children. The design method used refers to Vijay Kumar’s design thinking which was divided into 4 stages, research, analysis, synthetic, and realization.

Abstract

Interior sector within existing house at Solo Baru Area has been highly affecting the environment damage due to highly energy consumed. This fact was caused due to a large amount of construction and existing building on specified area doesn’t have any environmental preservation aspect approach. As an interior designer, it will be a proper responsibility to apply the micro scale energy efficient solution to the construction sector. Smart and eco design is a solution to the highly produced emission in the global issue.This design use design thinking as its method, by collecting data, ideate the concept, and to aplly the idea. The application of Eco design is by optimalize the using of natural energy by maximize the room circulation, low emission materials and low energy furnitures. They are applied to preserve the environment system. While Smart Interior is a design concept to optimize the interior by using technology that will give efficiency and newly experience purpose to the living human inside. This design, based on smart and sustainable concept, resulting a recycling method and an effective technique in finishing to save time and lowering the emission. Smart concept which is applied in this interior design is an integrated control panel and also technology for energy and water saving, in example, solar panel and waste water cycling.

Abstract

Interior design wedding venue with Chinese cultureconcept is a masterpiece of design that is designed as analternative for Chinese people to be married with the maximumChinese culture. In this scheme, there is a blessing room providedin the area of design, so that the bride and groom canto be morepractical to get married. The differences in this wedding hall withthe other is in its value - the value of Chinese wedding philosophyin it. Thus the room becomes more meaningful and bringsblessings for the bride.The design is in accordance with the era development, which isnow often applying modern style. Therefore, the application ofform and character of the room will tend to modern but did notleave the hallmark of the character of Chinese culture weddingprocession in it. Such as lotus, phoenix and dragon, numbers thatrepresents luck for Chinese people, also the Chinese weddingprocess itself are being implemented into the design elements.This design will focus on the value / meaning of each space andindirectly to the cultural conservation of Chinese wedding tomeet the needs of people who wants to get married under theChinese culture.

Abstract

Leker Bos is one of the newly developed food business which sell Leker in a modern way. Currently, the business is having a difficulty in capturing people interest to buy its product. The reason behind this, is because there are many competitors whom also sell the same product, however appear to have a better appealing booth and consistency value. Through this fact, Interior Design Planning is needed to enhance the Leker Boss Brand. Bistro Interior Model in a permanent spot, semi-permanent booth model, and efficient Leker Boss mobile booth for a mobile commercial activity are the type of planning needed. According to the planning, the design thinking method will be applied. It encompasses three main stages, inspiration (understand, observe, pov), ideation (ideate, prototype, test), and implementation (story-telling, pilot, business model). The result from applying the design and also thinking method is producing the smallest effective module that enhances the mobility of the booth in any spot given. This module provides Leker Boss business three alternative booth which are Bistro Interior Model in a permanent spot, semi-permanent booth model, and efficient Leker Boss mobile booth for a mobile commercial activity.

Abstract

The background of this design is the gamers need of a place where various facilities and commercial area for gaming products are available. Besides, the gaming center is also able to accommodate the gamers and gaming products in a tournament or E-Sports competition. The design purpose of ROG Gaming Center in Surabaya is to accommodate, facilitate, gather gamers and E-Sports athletes, as well as hold events such as national to international level of tournament and E-Sports competition. At the same time, this design can also improve people knowledge about E-Sports.
