Abstract

Photography has been progressing and developing rapidly in recent years. It can be a business that is promising and much sought after by consumers from various backgrounds. To support this business, a facility that can accommodate photography activities especially for start-up entrepreneurs, is needed. Therefore, the designer comes up with an idea to design a photography center based on co-working space in Surabaya that can facilitate start up photography businesses as well as to accommodate meetings among photographers and between photographers and their clients. The design method used consists of 7 stages: (1) Inquiry, (2) Empathize, (3) Define, (4) Brainstorm, (5) Prototype, (6) Test, (7) Apply & Reflect. The design concept applied is Dynamic Interfusion. This concept is appointed to be the solution of the problem, which is the activity of photography that tends to be individual and leads to lack of interaction. This concept is applied in the design into an open space layout, creating the impression of motion, flexible and multi-functional rooms. Main facilities designed include store, gallery, plain and thematic photo studio, communal lounge, editing room, meeting room, and workshop area. Also equipped with supporting facilities such as lobby, cafe, makeup and dressing room, management office, pantry, storage, and toilet.

Abstract

Kabinet Coffee is the only one coffee shop in Surabaya, which provides information about the coffee to visitors, not only for commercials purposes but it can show some information about the coffee. The purpose of interior design of Kabinet Coffee in Surabaya is to provide coffee center that sells coffee drinks and food as well as providing Indonesian coffee information by opening a new of an existing Kabinet Coffee. The facilities rooms are café, shop, gallery, workshop room, and multifunction room. Kabinet Coffee design is inspired by the specialist coffee of Kabinet Coffee, Papua Wamena coffee. The concept is taken by themed Papua combined with elements of coffee. The concept is applied to the interior elements to take Asmat elements like shield, mask, sculpture, house, and boat, also take red and brown colors. And the concept take from coffee elements like round shape and brown color.

Abstract

Marriage needs to be prepared carefully because it only happens once in a lifetime. Many wedding needs that have to be prepared but usually the bride and groom do not have time in preparing these things. For that, a place that can facilitate the needs of the bride and groom is needed to make it easier for them in preparing their needs. The interior design of this Wedding Centre meets the main needs in preparation before the wedding such as boutique, salon, photo studio, event organizer room, and cafeteria. These facilities can be used by the prospective bride and groom and also general visitors. The theme of this design is the "gallery" that displays a simple impression by applying elegant colors. The amount of furniture used in this design is not that many so that the appearance of the wedding dress on display will be more prominent.

Abstract

The beauty salon is a mandatory, especially for women to come and perform treatments to embellish and beautify the body, whether it is on healthy skin, hair beauty, facial aesthetics, nail care, and others. Graha Shinjuku Salon is one of the facility to serve the needs of consumers for hair beauty treatment which is located in the city of Surabaya. Provided facility services include hair cutting, coloring, rebonding, creambath, hair spa, smoothing, makeup, nail art, and others. In addition there is also a cafe, beauty salon, bridal, and also a photo studio to support the facility in Graha Shinjuku Salon.

Abstract

Pasar Atom Mall is shopping center that offers variety of fashion, gold and jewelry, food and beverages, up to bank. This mall is continuation of the Pasar Atom which connected via circulation. Furthermore, Circulation is the element that organizes and links between part of different shopping mall, such as shops, anchor stores, and other mall facilities. According to Peter Coleman, the organization of the circulation can be separately identified into functional and qualitative requirements. This research use qualitative requirements as a benchmark. Qualitative circulation requirements are recommended planning based on consideration of the use of a strip mall visitor’s perspective and can give character to shopping center to make the facility more memorable and enjoyable. The purpose of this research was to determine the circulation application in the Pasar Atom Mall interior with qualitative circulation requirements. The result is Pasar Atom Mall has applied the requirements of qualitative circulation in appropriate with the parameters, even though there are still some requirements are not applied. Circulation qualitative which are applied including the identity of the circulation area recognized by visitors, arrangement of space based on the importance and function space, environmental comfort, provide chilled environment in summer, mall environmental care, and provide positive experience to visitors by providing seating facilities, informal meeting rooms, and the quality of the interior elements in the mall.

Abstract

Samarinda is the capital city of East Borneo (East Kalimantan). It currently requires a place for Dayak Tribes artists to express themselves and to be an art center at the same time. This art center is also intended as an art appreciation and education facility, tourist destination, as well as become a new icon for Samarinda city. For this several reasons, the designer designed “Samarinda Dayak Tribes Art Center”. The purpose of this art center is to facilitate Dayak Tribes art activities and become a recreational place for local and foreign tourist in order to increase the local economic income. The design method is design thinking which includes some steps such as Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Interior concept in the design aims to show the facility as a home for Dayak Tribes Art by using Rumah Lamin concept.

Abstract

Bandung Permai Hotels is one of the most famous hotels in Jember city and have been the most favorite venue for local and foreign tourists. Bandung Permai only had a minor change on its interior design that caused a decreasing values of competitiveness against a thriving hotel in Jember city. This design aims to improve and regain the competitiveness as well as create a new atmosphere in Bandung Permai interior Hotel by combining cultural elements with modern elements, especially in the matters of interior design.

Abstract

In modern era, dogs have been popular among people of all ages. Begins to emerge community of dog lovers, where many of the lovers or dog owners who want to provide and meet various facilities to pamper and care dogs. There are no many dog lovers who socialize and brainstorm about dog care and training. Fact, there is no place  provide complete facilities for dog lovers in Surabaya. Kenjeran Petground is one of the place for dog lovers to provide facilities for dogs. The concept design is provide facilities for dogs and  owners in one location with  natural atmosphere formed in the design as reflection of the nature and character of the dog. Through the method of design thinking by paying attention to the dog needs and dog lovers needs, so  the petground is designed using green design approach. Green design approach is applied to this design with LED lamp for energy efficency , material and finishing low-impact. From the green design will be get stability, both for hygiene and health in the room.

Abstract

Cardboard is a material that is used to make packagings with limited lifetime in the distribution process of a product to the consumer. Cardboard is made by recycling waste paper to an innovative product which increases the value of it. The design of flexible exhibition stand is an innovation that uses cardboard material in order to make the assembly of the exhibition stand easier for the exhibitor, and the process is done only in a short time. Knock-down construction method is used by folding and interlocking. The design consists of space-forming, space-filling, and exhibition decorative elements. The advantages of using cardboard for exhibition are less production cost, abundant source of raw materials, lighter, self-assembly without tools, flexible with the condition and the area of exhibition space, strength that can replace the lumber construction in resisting the load.

Abstract

The lack of attention to the comfort and completeness of facilities of the current office design causes the office employees today become less productive and creative, especially in the interior design consultant office in Surabaya. Interior design of Creative Interior Consultant Office with the concept of “Grow Creativity” in Surabaya, is functioned to accommodate all activities undertaken by office employees who are interior designers to make them feel at home while working in the office, to think more creatively, and all activities undertaken in the office can be facilitated well. The design method used is Design Thinking with stages consist of: (1) Discovery (2) Observe (3) Empathize (4) Ideate (5) Decide (6) Prototype (7) Test (8) Implementation. The design concept is based on the comfort of "User" or office user (interior designer) that will be applied in the office design. The benefits that will be perceived by interior designers with the existence of this creative interior consultant office is the availability of an office that can meet all the needs of the interior designers and enable them to work creatively and productively in the office
