Abstract

Era development and people’s need to move quickly from one place to another, make the necessary of transportation increase, one of them is plane. Airport as a place of plane stop, become a place that accommodate many visitor from domestic or overseas. Iskandar Airport Pangkalanbun is one of the development airport in Central Borneo, also as the first gate that visitor coming, must be show the cultural image that attract and giving the impression that in mind from interior design. Therefore, emphasize of Iskandar Airport, Pangkalanbun design is eco-friendly that combine with local content of Central Borneo, which is then adjusted with user need on universal design.       This goal is solved by the design method that done from collecting actual data in the field, data processing and concluding the design problems from the existing, that visualized through design drawings include layout, floor and ceiling plan, mechanical electrical, and other addition interior systems. With room perspective as concept visualization which is used to help in problem solving.                Achievement of the main purpose of this design is uses of ecofriendly materials, the implications of the carvings philosophy and Central Kalimantan typical building, as well as the universal design that doesn’t rule out the possibility of disability users can feel the same interior experience like other users.

Abstract

Nowadays, studio type apartment become a choice of residence for people even though it has limited space.  Therefore, the furniture in the apartment should be a saving space one, because it does not make the circulation of the apartment smaller but it fulfills the needs of the occupant for furniture.  There are some methods that be used for this design, that are observation about the occupant’s needs of the furniture and analyze it, designing the furniture then analyze it again, after that make the prototype. Based the analysis, there are four types of main furniture that occupant needs, which are chair, table, bedside and storage. At the end, after design and the prototype making, it can be concluded that the saving space furniture such as folding furniture set is a good choice for studio type apartment.  Using multi-layered wood as the material for the design, the key of designing folding furniture is in the shape of it, and the system used like the folding system.

Abstract

As the second largest city in Indonesia, economic development in Surabaya is well supported by creative industry sector which also became the backbone of the economy in Surabaya. The growth of creative industry is directly proportional to the emergence of creative young generation in Surabaya. Designing a creative hub is a form of response to the magnitude of potential creative resources of creative young generation Surabaya on the development of creative economy. This creative hub will be designed to create a platform for young people in Surabaya, especially the creators, innovators, local entrepreneurs, makers, and all other creative people to meet, interact, collaborate, and innovate. The concept of this design is to provide public facilities that can accommodate the positive activities of young people and create an ecosystem that is conducive to the development of creative economy in Surabaya. Therefore, the design scope includes creative office, event space, fabrication workshop, and café.

Abstract

In America, the price of land for a dwelling house is very high, so many new families or who can be called as a gen x and gen y choose to stay in the apartment, but most of them have goal to move into a landed house. Overseeing that issue, it needs a furniture that is durable and easily moved. Based on that, came an idea to create a furniture which has a light weight and easy to assembly. In this thesis, the furniture is mainly created for the living room area, because according to a research held by IKEA, living room’s furniture is ranked first for the most favourable furniture in public. Living room also regarded as one of the most important rooms in a house. As a basic for workmanship, this design is pass through several stages, i.e. the study of literature, data and qualitative observations, programming, design concepts, sketches and schematic design, mock-up, development, final design, and manufacture of prototype 1: 1. This design has five sets of options with differences in knockdown construction that is used in each furniture. The fifth set is intended to ease in disassembling the furniture for users. Apart from that, safety for users is also considered while designing this furniture.

Abstract

Children have high curiosity and creativity. Their curiosity and creativity can be directed in a positive way so that they can find their talent and interest earlier. Creativity can be channeled through art. The design provides education art center for children to try new things and improve their creativity at an early age. The design contains class facilities such as painting, clay, art paper, cake decoration, flower arrangement, batik, multipurpose class, and another facilities such as library, cafe, office, lobby and playing area. The concept of "Eduplay and Fun" creates a pleasant atmosphere and adapts the characteristics of each child. The concept is applied through the color, shape and size.

Abstract

Surabaya becomes the center of activity for its citizen, including the center of basketball which has developed since long time ago and become its local content. Most of people know about basketball without knowing its history and development. Therefore, the writer wants to design a gallery which is educative, informative, and recreational to facilitate people in giving appreciation for basketball which has been there and developed in Surabaya. The rooms are lobby, gallery area, office room, press conference room, meeting room, head chief room, collection storage, merchandise shop, cafe, kitchen, toilet, and janitor. By having this facility, the writer hopes that she can give an enjoyment for people with using attractive concept which is suitable with Surabaya people’s taste.

Abstract

Now, the speed factor becomes dominant so it is considered an indicator for success. As a result, the value of time becomes so valuable that the concept of dining is no longer a necessity but merely an obligation. This makes every fast food restaurant a place to eat that continues to be visited by the community, because the speed of serving food can save more time needed to work. The formulation of the problem in this design is the type of element that should be considered in the design of quick service restaurant furniture with stainless steel material to support the acceleration of consumer replacement and furniture design models that can accelerate consumer reimbursement with stainless steel materials at quick service restaurants. The design process used the design thinking method with the following stages: understand, ideate, prototype, and implementation. The results of this design resulted in elements to be considered in the design of furniture for quick service restaurants with stainless steel, where stainless steel is well-known for its hardness, strength, cool and aesthetic look.  Models that can accelerate the The change of consumers by using stainless steel material for quick service restaurants should pay attention to the Standard dimension variation that already exist. The results of this design have been published through social media and personal web, this furniture will be used for quick service restaurants furniture.

Abstract

This interior design project is a re-design of Surabaya City Museum with the concept of Surabaya’s Memory Lane. Most people in Surabaya are not aware with the existence of Surabaya Museum that is located in Siola due to lack of promotion and its plain appearance. Moreover, the museum in Surabaya is in a downturn due to lack of interest. Therefore the design of this Surabaya City Museum will revive the interest of Surabaya people and tourists to come and visit this Museum. In addition, this museum is also intended for education. The people of Surabaya should know the history of their own city and how hard was the struggle of the people in the past to make Surabaya as it is today. The design will use the concept of Surabaya’s Memory Lane which seems to invite visitors to get around the old town of Surabaya. Design will be made as attractive as possible by adjusting to the characteristics of Surabaya people who loves everything instant and beautiful. Explanation of each collection will be made as sophisticated and interesting as possible to make it easier for visitors to understand the history of the collection. The target of this museum is for all ages from the young to the old, inteded for the people of Indonesia and the tourists.

Abstract

Chocolate is one of the most special cocoa products compared to other products. Chocolate contains flavanol compounds that function to soothe the nerves. This chocolate’s compound is what people need, especially in Surabaya. Most people in Surabaya are experiencing stress, discomfort, and other problems due to the activities and conditions of congested city. So that chocolate has the potential to be appreciated as a place where people can be recreation, relaxation, get information and share their creativity by utilizing chocolate as the basic idea of making the place’s design. Interior Design "Chocolate House" in Surabaya will be a recreation place as well as the new icon of Surabaya where people are able to relaxation, experience new things, get some knowledge, and also as a form of appreciation towards the chocolate itself. The concept used is taking the characteristic of the chocolate itself, adapted with the needs and desires of the community. Chocolate has properties that make people become addicted, so that’s why the interior design "Chocolate House" raises the concept of Addiction In Catchiness. This concept gives impression to the people who come, both in terms of interior and knowledge, causing addiction to come again. The character of chocolate applied on shapes, colors, atmosphere inside the room. This design maximizes the potential of chocolate in each facility and design, so that for those who enters the room can feel and understand that chocolate has many benefits they were never thought before.

Abstract

A cafe is one type of business that is a lot of demand today. Designing the Interior Health Food Center and Hydroponics Park in Surabaya is a food and beverage service facility that offers a new atmosphere that will have a Hydroponic Park for children to adults and there is also a Supermarket that sells organic goods to meet the needs of the community. People today still do not know much about what is organic and consider organic food has a taste that is less delicious. Therefore the purpose of this interior design is in addition to as a place of entertainment and gathering, can also be means of education about how to start a healthy life with organic food, planting hydroponics plants and later can be direct though at the cafe.Scandinavian design style applied to rge design and the hydroponik garden with the concept offered in the overall atmosphere to be created is comfortable, relaxed, elegant and fresh
