The abundant availability is caused by beef being considered one of the main commodities. Through this fact, the researcher wants to explore the potential of cow bones which can provide aesthetic values and is potential to be developed. By using the experimental research method that starts from formulating problems until the implementation stage which consists of dependent variables which are cow bones, along with the independent variables which are durability tests, adhesive power, and odor dissipating media. The final result is a wall panel which presents the utilization of color gradations, textures, and also some compositions of other types of materials.

Abstract

This design was carried out to determine the potential of the wasted container plate to be used as the main material of interior products. More and more wasted container plates are generated from the construction of container offices which always end to be melted into scrap metal. The characteristic of container as well as the background of the sustainable concept that want to be emphasized also affect the final design.                This design is using the design thinking method where the analysis of both material and user is done to underlie the final design. Direct experiments with the materials are also carried out to produce good construction. Flatpack and modular were chosen as the main aspects in designing interior products for this office furniture.                Containers have good strength and robustness, but there are some design limitations because of their unique shape and it becomes another challenge to develop this material that is quite new in the world of furniture, which still has more potential to be explored. The advantages of containers itself are used to offset some of this material's shortcomings.

Abstract

Nowadays, the existence of plastic waste on earth has become a threat to the environment, including Indonesia. The rapid growth of the amount of plastic waste makes it an even more urgent problem to be solved. However, Indonesia’s waste management and processing system are yet to be proven as effective. The utilization of plastic waste in the creative industry is also very low, especially in the interior sector. As an interior designer, this is the gap to create innovations in the interior sector, by using many kinds of recycled plastic materials for the interior product. This design process will use the design thinking method created by D. School, which consist of a few processes such as empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and implement. The products produced are a coffee table, stool, chair, table lamp and wall art as introduction products to educate people that products made from recycled materials can become a wide variety of interior products. The end results of this thesis are three series of furniture, and all three used different characteristics of recycled plastic materials, which are composite plastic with sawdust, opaque plastic combined with transparent plastic, and full opaque plastic. These plastics became a variation on the interior products that are made from wood and iron. With contrast color palettes and diverse technique, the plastic variation can become the products’ focal-point, so the character of the plastic can be optimized.

The design of a classical music concert hall in Semarang aims to meet the needs of musicians, especially those in the city of Semarang. Abstract

Water hyacinth has been found in Indonesian waters, such as rivers, rivers and many more. Water hyacinth often referred as water pollutants because plenty of amount due to rapid reproduction. Water hyacinth is also considered an unprofitable plant. These problems actually have a solution, which is by utilizing water hyacinth in various fields, one of the example is product material. The design that I want to build in this final project is the design of interior furniture products, which is a chair that can be beneficial for the environment because it utilizes existing natural resources, water hyacinth, with iron as the frame. This design aims to help reduce water pollution while creating a traditional yet modern minimalist design with water hyacinth and iron as the material. The design method that I carried out was a qualitative method, which is design thinking: emphatize, observe, ideate, prototype, and test. Abstract

The growth of the cafe business is so rapid in Indonesia, there are many innovations in cafes that have sprung up such as cafes with library, cafes with co-working space. But for Surabaya itself, there are no cafes with playground innovations even though the playground cafe is an interesting innovation and in demand especially by people who are already married and have children. Therefore, buildings with the theme of eat, play and learn can be one solution for parents who want to take a break from routine or relieve fatigue but still carrying out their duties in parenting. This building is expected to be able to combine dining, playing and education facilities to support the activities of parents and children as their interactions.
