Abstract

This article discusses the right to education for persons with disabilities in accordance with the special report “The right to education of persons with disabilities” United Nations General Assembly Resolution 60/251 2007. Specifically, this article discusses the definition of persons with disabilities, the definitions and purposes of inclusive education, inclusive education in the Islamic perspective, inclusive education in Indonesia, the major determinants and sustainability of inclusive education, and the state’s obligation to education for persons with disabilities. In the perspective of Islam, there is a common ties or the intersection of inclusive education with Islamic teachings value that can be used as the basis of the importance of education for people including those with disabilities. The tangent point of which is education as a liability/rights, the principle of non-segregation, the holistic perspective of looking at learners and way of looking at the barriers that are more oriented to external factors, especially the school environment. This article recommends a series of policies and measures that need to be done by all parties, both government and society to realize the right to inclusive education include all parties, both the government, the community and the parents should actively participate and cooperate in implementing inclusive education in Indonesia and the government should aim to improve the quality of inclusive education in Indonesia, both in terms of students, teachers, facilities and infrastructure, teaching, learning and evaluation.

Abstract

Various multidimensional crises that exist in Indonesia which is recognized or not is the part of cultural problem, one of the reasons is the diversity of the cultures that exist in our society. The diversity of culture should not be the cause of the existence of discrimination, injustice, suspicion and a variety of human rights violations, but being the power to build a community sense. The multiculturalism thought that exists in Indonesia resting on Islam as a source of thought. With the implementation of multicultural education, teachers are expected to be able to encourage learners to have an awareness and understanding to always uphold the values of justice, democracy, humanity and pluralism in the association in the middle of the national reality that is full of diversity.

Abstract

Issues about Islamic education have gained much attention to various historical, political, and socio-cultural factors. The state of Islamic education is attached to a great extent to local and international developments. Islamic education, like other institutions in the Muslim world, has struggled with challenges of development, modernization and globalization. Islamic education faces challenges from within as well as the challenges that the system poses to communities and societies in the Muslim world and beyond. The challenges explained by categories of its position within the larger educational system, its education process and pedagogy, the efforts of Muslim scholars, and modernization, politicization and militarization of Islamic education. However, improvement of the existing achievements must be a continuous exercise. A certain kind of strategy has to be designed and regularly improved. Through this, Islamic education could be a leadingendeavor for the sake of harmonious and safe living for all mankind, irrespective of ethnic and religious orientations, and also could achieve the educational balance between tradition and enlightenment.

Abstract

إن مفهوم التحرير العلماني يلغي سلطة الدين على المجتمع، وهو أمر قد يتفق مع بعض الأديان، ولكن لا يتفق مع الإسلام الذي يعد الدنيا والآخرة والدين والحياة سياقات متواصلة، وقد كان رسول الله  نفسه زعيما للدولة الإسلامية الأولى، وهذا أيضا ما فعله الخلفاء الراشدون، كلهم علماء في دينهم وقادة سياسيون في دولهم. فصل الدولة والسياسة عن الإسلام سوف يعوق ويعطل دور نظرية الإسلام في المجتمع. فالدين يكون مسألة شخصية خاصة ولا علاقة له بالجمهور والمجتمع. إن مفهوم العلمنة النابع من النظر الغربي -المسيحي استوردها ونشرها بعض المفكرين المسلمين في مجتمعاتهم بغير إدراك جيد للأسس التاريخية والفلسفية واللاهوتية والسوسيولوجية لهذه الفكرة.

Abstract

Social theories generally defined as analytical frameworks or paradigms that applicable to examine social phenomena. The term belonging to ideas about how societies change and develop, methods of explaining social behaviour, power and social structure. In contemporary social theory, certain themes such as the nature of social life, the relationship between self and society, the structure of social institutions, social transformation, as well as such as gender, race, class, and others themes consider as most priority to others. This paper will demonstrates Foucault’s ideas in structures and discourses—how discourses produced particular truths which studying institutions (schools) and offering a critique of what was considered to be normal, to consider Foucault’s ideas such as panopticism to examine disciplinary and self-policy of schools. The main purpose ofthis paper is to find practical value in Foucault’s ideas.

Abstract

This article tries to show that the existence of school subjects’ courses in our society brings many effects. The widespread of school subjects’ courses recently has influenced the public interest to TPQ. In addition, the high interest of the students to school subjects’ courses also shows students and parents distrust towards formal education that is school. The focus of this study is to find out the people’s reasons which prefer to engage their children to school subjects’ courses than to the TPQ. The method of this research is qualitative method which uses library research by analyzing some literatures such as books and journal articles. The results of this study shows that the presence of many school subjects’ courses makes the public interest in the TPQ decreased. There are many factors which influence the decline of public interest in TPQ. These factors include the more difficult of the subjects in school, the same of learning time of TPQ and school subjects’ courses, the quality and quantity of teacher and institutional facilities.
